Cold As Ice

Beau slid the key Kayla had given him into the knob, he turned it to the right and the door opened, he put his arm around her as he helped her into her apartment.
“Which one is your room?” Beau whispered not wanting to wake up her roommates that she told him about tonight.
“In here,” She guided him into her room and he helped her into her bed, “Stay.” She patted the empty side of her bed, Beau thought about it for a while before sliding under the covers with her.
Beau slid his arm around her and pulled her into his chest; she rested her head on his chest and quickly fell asleep. Kayla had been completely wasted and was in no shape to head home by herself so Beau tagged along to make sure she got home safe. He wasn’t planning on staying the night but how could he resist after she asked.
He woke up the next morning confused with his surroundings, he looked over at the beautiful brunette asleep in his arms, he thought about last night and remembered who she was and where he was.
“Kayla wake u-“Ariel stopped talking once she noticed Kayla wasn’t alone, “Who are you?” She asked the gorgeous blonde laying in Kayla’s bed with her.
“I’m Beau.” He introduced shyly, Ariel watched him as he got up from her bed, he was still fully clothed so maybe it wasn’t another one of Kayla’s one night stands.
“I’m Ariel; um what are you going here?” She asked.
“Kayla was pretty drunk last night so I brought her home and she asked me to stay. Nothing happened though, I swear.” Ariel crossed her arms over her chest and glared at him, she wanted to make him sweat.
“I believe you, do you want breakfast?” She asked before leaving Kayla’s room and going back to the kitchen for her food, Beau followed behind her, he sat on one of the stools as Ariel placed a plate of food in front of him.
“I always make extra just in case.” Ariel grabbed her own plate and began eating, she asked Beau how he had met Kayla and he explained the story of how he met Jordan and how she suggested he go help Kayla learn how to skate.
Kayla walked out of her bedroom groaning over her massive headache, she stopped when she noticed Beau and Ariel eating at the counter together, she raised an eyebrow as Ariel looked over at her, Beau turned around and smiled once he saw her.
“Kay, Beau was just telling me about last night.” Ariel explained, Kayla walked over and sat beside Beau.
“That’s lovely.” Kayla replied sarcastically. She leaned over to Beau and whispered “Did we..” He shook his head holding back a laugh.
“No, I wouldn’t take advantage of you like that.” He smiled showing off his razor sharp teeth.
“What a shame, she’d probably let you.” Ariel replied listening in on the conversation, Kayla shot her a glare before ignoring her comment.
“Where’s Fiona?” She asked as she grabbed a piece of bacon off of Beau’s plate, he playfully shoved her a bit too hard, she shrieked as her stool tipped over, he grabbed her arm and stopped her from falling over. She put her hand over her chest as it raced at her near death experience.
“You should have let her fall.” Ariel joked, Beau let go of Kayla as he realized he was still holding onto her, she thanked him for saving her from falling.
“Fiona’s still sleeping.” Ariel replied going back to the conversation before all the chaos happened.
“Of course she is.” Kayla rolled her eyes, her heart finally began to go back to normal, she looked over at Beau as he ate.
“I heard that!” Fiona shouted from her room, she got out of bed and made her way over to the kitchen, she rubbed at her eyes as she exited her room.
“Fiona, put pants on we have a guest!” Ariel hissed, Fiona opened her eyes to see that Ariel was right, they did have guests. She quickly ran back into her room embarrassed, she slid on a pair of joggers and walked back out.
“Sorry about that.” She mumbled as she introduced herself to Beau. He laughed it off.
“I better get going.” He got up from his stool and cleaned up his plate.
“I’ll walk you out.” Kayla offered, she walked him down the hallway to the elevator. He asked her for her number which she happily gave; he kissed her cheek before getting in the elevator. Kayla walked back to her apartment as her cheek stung from where he kissed it.

Jordan quickly got up from the bed, grabbed her clothes, and rushed over to the bathroom; she got out her phone and dialed Sam’s number, no answer. She dialed Violet’s number, no answer; she dialed Kenzie’s number praying that she would pick up.
“Hello?” Kenzie answered.
“Kenz, can you please come get me?” Jordan explained to Kenzie about last night and how she came home with Jake who was still passed out, Kenzie said she was on her way and she hung up. She placed her phone on the counter as she quickly got dressed and fixed her hair before leaving.
“Leaving so soon?” Jake asked as she was about to walk out of his room, she slowly turned around to see him smirking at her; he had his hands placed behind his head showing off his arm muscles.
“I have work soon.” She lied. He nodded his head even though he didn’t believe her.
“When am I going to see you again?” He asked as he got up and put his pants back on.
“Hopefully never.” She replied dryly, he put his hand up to his chest offended by her words.
“Why is that?” He asked as he walked towards her, he was now towering over her making her feel small, she took a few steps back so she wouldn’t have to strain her neck to look him in the face.
“They’re called one night stands for a reason.” Leaving it at that she walked out of his room, she slipped on her shoes as he followed after her.
“At least give me your number.” He pleaded. She shook her head no before walking out the door. He was about to follow her but stopped when he heard a phone ringing, he followed the sound and walked into his bathroom to see a phone on the counter.
It was Jordan’s. He picked it up and smirked to himself, she’d be back soon.
