"So" I said looking up at James as we walked through the mall, "When do you think the wedding should be?"

"Probably sometime over the summer," he said simply looking into the windows of the stores we were passing.

I nodded my head, thinking If there was anyway I could change the subject to what was really important, something he didnt know about yet.

"What are we going to do after the wedding?" I asked looking up at him.

"I dont know" He said looking back at me.

It seemed like this was the first time we made eye contact since we got to the mall.

"Move in together?" I asked, before really getting to the harder conversation.

"I thought we were doing that when we got back" James said laughing.

"We could" I smiled at him.

"Sounds good" He said looking back towards the store windows.

"What do you think about having more kids?" I asked finally bringing up the conversation.

"You dont think Jake is enough?" He asked without even thinking about it.

"Well dont you think it would be nice for him to have someone to grow up with?" I asked still watching him carefully.

"Trust me, after growing up with siblings, hes better off alone" James said simply.

"You dont want a daughter?" I asked him, trying to find anyway that he would possibly say, "Id be happy to have another child"

"No," He said smiling," If anything, a son would be better"

Thats a step in the right direction.

"Whats with you, baby fever?" He asked looking back at me.

"No," I smiled, "I was just trying to think about the future"

"There's a lot of time before we think about more kids," He said reaching for my hand, 'What do you think about this store?" He asked simply, not realizing that we didnt have as much time as he thought.

"How long have you known you were pregnant?" The ultrasound technician asked me as she slid the cold blue gel over my stomach.

"Not long, a few days or so" I said simply.

"Well," She said looking at the screen, "It looks like youve been pregnant for a while, 2 months maybe, your baby looks healthy, which is good" She said looking at me smiling. "Have you been through this before?"

"Yes" I smiled looking up at the time.

"Then you know we just need to check the heartbeat and you're free to go" She said simply.

I nodded my head, waiting anxiously for when I could get home to Jake.

She checked the heartbeat before leaving the room making me wonder what was wrong. There couldnt be anything wrong with the baby right? What would i do if there was? I couldnt tell James, He doesnt know. There was nothing I could do. There was only one person I could go to. Sidney.

"We have some news or you" The nurse said coming back in.

I nodded simply. Waiting, just waiting, for whatever she says, to change my life.
