Star Crossed

"Hey" James mumbled with a mouthful of food as I walked through my front door. Our front door.

"Hey" I said shuffling through the mail I had just brought in which mostly consisted of catalogs.

After seeing James with that girl, Rachel, Sidney and I stayed to check up on him, as bad as that sounds. I mean, of course I trust him. But at the same time I don't. I trust him because I love him, but I dont because I know the type of person he is. After James talked to her, she brought out a few take out containers before he left. They flirted, nothing big. But still he's engaged.

"Want some?" James said gesturing to the table full of food, "I got your favorite"

"No thanks," I sighed, "I already ate"

"Really?" James asked walking around the kitchen island to stand infront of me.

"Yes?" I said confused as to what he was doing.

"Because the Savannah I know would never turn down food, no matter how much she already ate. That's one of the things I love about you" He said smiling holding up one of my hands to kiss it.

Love. As soon as he said it I wanted to cringe.

"I don't feel good" I said shrugging my shoulders.

It wasn't a complete lie.

"What's really wrong?" He said looking concerned.

I sighed. I didnt know whether to address the real issue or just not say anything.

"Have you ever cheated on me?" I asked being out in the open.

"Savannah," James sighed taking a step back from me.

"Please," I said feeling my eyes start to prick from the tears that inevitably would be coming soon, "Dont say yes"

"I would never, You know I love you" He said reaching to put a hand on my face, ready to wipe any tears that fell.

"I bet that's what you say to Rachel." I snarled at him.

I guess I was being rude to him, but I was allowed to be.

"How do you know about her?" He said dropping his hand.

"Sidney told me" I said not even looking at him.

"Sidney's a fucking liar" James said, "I used to be with her, but not anymore"

I sat in silence, not moving my eyes from the spot on the floor I was focusing on.

"Savannah," James said, "Savannah, Please. You have to believe me. I want no one more than I want you, and if you think that I would be stupid enough to screw this up, you're probably right. But I would never do it full knowingly. I would never cheat on you because I know there is no way I could do any better. Those girls mean nothing to me anymore. The only one I need," He said softly taking my hand in his as I turned to look at him, "Is you"

"Im pregnant" Was all I said.

I dont even know where it came from. It just kind of came out. I wanted to do it in more of an exciting way, but it slipped, it spilled out. I couldnt stop it.

I could tell by the look on James's face that that was not what he was expecting. But if I were in his shoes, I wouldnt expect it either.

"With twins" I added figuring that since I already told him part one, I might as well get part 2 over with too.

James's jaw fell. He took a few steps back and sat down on the chair next to me. I was expecting an angry reaction. But there was no reaction. None. I wasn't even sure he was still breathing. He sat there do still, not making a sound just staring down at his hands. I waited, and waited, and waited for any form of response, when I finally got one. Not quite the one I was expecting. But I still got one. He picked his head up and smiled shyly simply saying,

"Looks like we've got a lot more to plan for than just a wedding"

This wasnt exactly how I wanted this chapter to go, But as I started writing it just kind of ended up this way. She was going to tell him in a different way, but it ended up like this. So at least he knows now! Tell me what you think!- Comment, Vote, Subscribe
