Star Crossed
Chapter 6
We both shed our clothing quickly, just throwing it all to the ground, barely separating for more than a second.
"I'm going to show you things Crosby never could, and never will" Oh shit. Sidney. He was probably sitting out there waiting for me. "I need to go" I said shoving him off of me and quickly gathering all my clothing. "Where are you going?" He asked, standing there shocked. "I have to go back, I'm so sorry.." I said turning back while pulling my skirt up to my waist and tucking my shirt in. I quickly opened the door and walked out to Sidney, sitting next to him.
"Where'd you go?" He asked looking at me confused. "Just to the bathroom" I said looking down at the table. "Are you feeling okay?" He said leaning in so he didn't have to yell over the music playing. "Yeah" I said before he kissed me on the cheek. "Do you want to leave?" he asked playing with my hand that he was holding. "I don't want you to leave for me" I said turning to look him in his eyes. That was a big mistake. Once you look into his eyes there's no going back. "I'd do anything for you" He smiled before kissing me on the lips. His lips were warm and comforting, completely different from how James's always were. "Alright" I smiled, feeling like a schoolgirl around him.
We stood up to leave, all of the guys saying goodnight and good game before either hugging him or high-fiving him. That was when James came out of the bathroom. I could tell he was furious with me, but there was nothing I could do. I started walking towards him to apologize but I felt Sidney squeeze my hand so I turned to face him , "Ready?" he asked "Yes" I smiled politely, letting him lead the way out.
When we got to his car, he opened the door for me as any gentleman would. He started the car and started talking. About anything and everything. I don't think he stopped talking from the time we got into the car, to the time we stopped at his house. I mostly nodded, not really saying anything. There was only one thing on my mind. James. I don't know why I couldn't stop thinking about him lately. I knew nothing would never last with him, nothing was ever serious to him. But with Sidney, everything was good, not great, but good. I liked Sidney, I liked him a lot. But James and I had Jake. And because of that, I would always have feelings for him.
"You have no good food whatsoever." I laughed as Sidney and I looked through his kitchen for something to eat. "Just because it's healthy doesn't mean its gross" He smiled looking over at me from around a cabinet. "Yes because spinach and pomegranate are so good." I said coming over to face him, wrapping my arms around his waist. "They are" he laughed before kissing my head, "Have you ever had them?" "Spinach yes. Pomegranate no. And I don't intend to." I laughed as he turned around. I smiled up at him and placed my chin on his chest. He leaned down and kissed me, until my stomach started to growl loudly. "Can we just order something?" I laughed. "Depends on what" He said laughing with me. "How about...." i paused thinking, "Chinese?" raising an eyebrow hoping he would say yes. He just groaned in response staring me down. "I guess I could, Just once' He smiled at me. "You're the best" I smiled back at him in response before kissing him.
"Friends and Chinese Food. What more could I ask for?" "I don't know" Sidney laughed. He and I had ordered Chinese food before we got changed, him lending me a t-shirt and a pair of shorts. We had been talking, eating, and watching friends for almost 2 hours now. I looked at the clock and realized it was almost 1 o'clock in the morning. Thinking that I needed to get back to Jake, I told Sidney I needed to leave because I was exhausted purposely not even mentioning anything about Jake, saving it for the right time. We said our goodbyes with multiple goodbye kisses, making it harder and harder to leave. By the time I got home it was about 1:20 and there was an unusual car sitting in the driveway. I unlocked the door as quietly as I could and put my keys on the table. I heard something fall behind me, making my hair stand on end. I turned around to see James standing there, "Jesus Christ, you just scared the absolute shit out of me." I said holding my chest causing him to laugh. "How did you get in here?" I asked my heart still racing. "You gave me a key remember?" he laughed, "I know you had a drink or two but I didnt think it would get you this drunk." He said making fun of my confused state. "Alright. Why are you here?" I said rudely. If he was going to be an ass, so was I. "I saw you leaving with Sid, I figured you'd be gone awhile, So I came to make sure Jake would be okay." "He has a babysitter for a reason you know" I said coldly. "Yes, but I thought he would prefer his father over a babysitter." He said simply. "Well, thank you." I said. "No problem, trust me." He said. "But I should get going, morning skate tomorrow" With that he grabbed his coat, keys and shoes before he went out to his car, started it and left. My phone vibrated in my pocket and I couldnt help but smile when I saw it was a text from Sidney,
"Get home okay?"
"Yes, thanks for asking. Goodnight Sidney." I said smiling just typing the text. "Goodnight Savannah. :)" was the text I got back almost immediately making me smile.
I put my phone next to my bed and laid down to go to sleep. Between the text, and the smell of his t-shirt, I couldn't stop thinking about Sidney. Everything was just so easy with him. An amazing alternative to everything crazy in my life. Everything with Sidney was just... great.
Especially our relationship.
