Hit Hard

“You may now kiss the bride!” The church cheered as the minister said the final words of the ceremony and Jason and Lila we're married. Charlene followed her brother and sister-in-law out of the church in the wedding procession, her lavender bridesmaids’ dress flowing behind her. Claude met her outside the church.

“You make a very pretty bridesmaid.” Claude smiled.

“Thank you.” She smiled. “You’ll have to stand by yourself for a little while longer for pictures.” Charlene frowned.

“I assumed.” He replied. “I don’t mind though.”

“You’re the best!” Charlene kissed him.

"Hurry up Charlene!" Jason called. "I don't want this to take any longer than it has to."

"It will take as long as I say it has to take." Lilia smiled. "I want them perfect."

"My point exactly." Jason said.

"Come dance with me." Claude begged as Charlene sat picking at her piece of wedding cake.

"I'm not a dancer." Charlene replied.

"Everyone's a dancer." Claude smiled. "They just have to try."

"I don't want to try."

"It'll be fun!" He begged. Charlene put her fork down. Hearing Claude tell that something would be fun reminded her of her vow to be spontaneous.

"Let's dance." Charlene said as she stood up and took Claude's hand.

"Alright then."

Claude spun Charlene around the dance floor, then back into his chest. “Are you having fun?” He asked.

“Yes.” Charlene smiled.

“I’m glad.” Claude said. “You’ve been pretty tense lately.”

“Have I?” Charlene asked. She looked down at her feet.

“A little.” He smiled a they rocked back and forth. “But I get it. Its hard to be home.”
“Yeah.” Charlene sighed. She wished that was all that was bothering her.
