Chapter 21

"Pull over here!" I said pointing at a gas station on the way back.

"Why? We don't need gas." He said glancing over and then looking back at the road.

"No, but we need ice cream." I rolled my eyes.

"Didn't think you were serious." he said flicking the blinker on and turning into the parking lot.

I got out when he stopped the car. "I will be right back." I said.

"Don't you want me to give you mo-" He started asking before I cut him off.

"No!" I said quickly and shut the car door. I walked inside and went straight to the freezer section. I picked up two cartons, one chocolate and the other cookie dough. Who doesn't like cookie dough?

I waited in line to check out, not before grabbing a bottle of Advil though. Olli would need it later if he didn't have any. Even if he had some it was good to have extra.

I waited somewhat impatiently for my turn to pay. I finally got to the front and pulled my wallet out of my purse. I paid for the things I bought and picked up the plastic bag. I walked out and walked back to the car.

I got in the passenger side and threw the bag in the back seat. "I got chocolate and cookie dough." I smiled as I put my seat belt on.

"Cookie dough?" He said as his expression lit up.

"Yes. Who doesn't like cookie dough?" I said.

"Practically nobody because it is amazing." He put the car in drive and started driving back towards his house.

"My thoughts exactly." I nodded and smiled, "Does your face feel better now?"

"Yes and no." He shrugged.

"I bought you Advil." I smirked as I looked forward at the road.

"This is why you are the best!" He said with bright eyes.

I handed him the pills once I opened the container. He swallowed them quickly. I guess you get used to taking pills dry in a sport like hockey.

We pulled into the drive way and got out. He locked his car while I walked up to the front door. He ran up behind me and went to unlock it.

He twisted the key in the lock and opened the door. I walked in and took my shoes off.

"I will get bowls and spoons..... or just spoons." He walked towards the kitchen. I laughed and rolled my eyes.

I followed him into the kitchen. "I will put the other one in the freezer." I said and took one carton out of the plastic bag. I walked over and put it in the freezer.

"Hurry up, I want ice cream." He sounded like a little kid.

"I'm coming, I'm coming." I said and grabbed the cookie dough ice cream off the counter.

He grabbed it once we sat down and opened it. He took his spoon and scooped a bite up. "What do you want to watch now?" He asked with the spoon still in his mouth.

"Whatever is on and is good." I said and reached over to get a spoonful of ice cream.

"Lets see if the game is still on." He said. It was. It was almost over too. We were down by two points with seven minutes left in the period.

He groaned and leaned back. I frowned and sighed, I hated seeing them just on TV when they lost. I would feel even worse being with them face to face.

He shook his head. "I'm not liking this situation."

"Me either." I said.

The seven minutes passed extremely slowly. We lost. It was no surprise.

"Atleast we have comfort food." I mumbled.

He nodded in agreement before taking another bite.
