Chapter 25

I walked inside and dropped my keys on the table when I got inside. No one else was home. My mom was at work. I flicked on the lights and plopped down on the couch before sending my mom a quick text that I was home.

It was so boring back here now. No one to talk to, no where to go. There wasn't even anything good on TV to watch. I only got Pittsburgh games once in a while. Other times it was other teams or other sports completely.

I went through my contacts and found no one I could talk to or hang out with. It made me rethink coming home. Pittsburgh was so much more fun.

My phone went off. I looked over and read the screen. It was a Penguins update from the app. It was awful. We were down by three! It was a zero to three. In the third period. We I didn't have much hope for them now. We would probably loose this one.

I waited until the game had ended, it got worse. zero to four. I laid down on the couch and closed my eyes. Even though I had already slept on the plane I was still tired. I ended up falling asleep on the couch. I would talk to them later if they needed me. Then again, they would actually need me.

My nap was great. It was complete silence. The hotel was never actually silent. Between the drunks in the hallway, the crying babies, the obnoxious sound of the air conditioner and the late night drop ins who were on the road. It was nice to have complete silence.

I woke up to the sound of my phone though. It was Sid. I had just missed his call..... make that one of about fifteen calls. What could he want that was this important?

I called him back and he picked up immediately. "You need to get back here." Sid said.

"Hello to you too." I mumbled, "Why? What's wrong?" I sighed.

"He looks like he hasn't played ever. He went completely down hill. He doesn't have the motivation to play." He said.

"What are you talking about?" I said utterly confused.

"Olli! You were like his muse or something. He wanted to impress you. Now he feels like he has nothing to play for." Sid replied frantically.

"I was just a bad game. I'm not the reason that it happened like that."

"He wouldn't talk to anyone in the locker room and he went straight home. We asked him if he was doing ok and he ignored us."

"I can't come back though Sidney. I really can't. There is no way around it now." I sighed

"We are going up to Montreal in about two weeks. I will owe you forever if you drive up." He begged.

"Sid, you already owe me." I sighed.

"Fine, don't do it for me then, do it for Olli." He said. He knew that would get to me.

I waited a moment. "I hate you sometimes...." I murmured.

"Thank you so much! So, so much!" He sighed in relief.

"Don't let him know though, I might have class that day. If I can make it I will." I said.

"Thank you so much! I will talk to you later." He said cheerfully.

"Talk to you later." I sighed.

I guess I'm not done after all. The adventure isn't over, in fact it may only be beginning.

Notes

Sorry it is short and pretty lame.
