Chapter 26

The two weeks went by excruciatingly slow. I went back to school which was more boring than I remembered. I was swamped with work and studying every night. I never left my room. Not unless I absolutely had to.

I hadn't heard from Sid or Olli either. They we're busy practicing and traveling. I admit, I did miss them. I miss them a lot. I sometimes thought at least talking to them would help but talking to them on the phonei might only make me miss them more.

It finally the day of the game. I had to drive a few hours to get there. It was about as far away from me as Wilkes-Barre/ Scranton is from Pittsburg. Believe me, that drive seems never ending. I had gone once with Sid when he first joined the team.

I packed a bag for overnight, considering I was not going to drive five hours there for the game and then drive five hours back. I would probably fall asleep driving down the higjway, a perfect way to get killed.

I threw my stuff in the car and looked at the time. I was interrupted by the sound of a honking horn. I looked up and smiled.

"Hey, hey, little sister." Said my brother yelling out the window of his car.

"I thought you weren't supposed to be home for months!" I said throwing my stuff in the passenger seat of the car.

"Eh, I made arrangements. I talked to Sid and he said you were going down to Montreal for the game. I thought maybe you would want someone to talk to." He got out of his car an locked the door.

"That would be great. But hurry up and get your stuff because I'm leaving now." I said.

He rolled his eyes and opened the trunk of his car. He grabbed a large duffel bag. "Done."

I clicked the button on my car remote to open the trunk for him. He threw his stuff in the back.

"Get in, we are going to be late." I said jumping in the drivers side and started the car.

We both got in and started the journey to the arena. The car ride consisted of a lot of sing alongs to songs on the radio along with some little car games we used to play as kids. Considering I hadn't seen Jace in forever it was great. Time went by quickly. The extra company helped.

Finally we were there. We parked and got out, not before I grabbed Olli's jersey out of the back seat. We made our way to the entrance. Sid has our tickets at will call. While we waited in line I threw the jersey on over my clothes. It was huge on me. I didn't mind though.

We went to get our seats. Jace had texted Sid to let him know we were there. Olli still didn't know. I figured it would be a good surprise. We waited for warmups to start. It didn't take too long.

It went on for a few minutes before Sid stopped Olli. He whispered something to him. Olli looked at him like he was crazy before he glanced over and did a double take.

I waved a little and he waved back. He smiled and looked back at Sid. He said something to Sid before he went back to warmups. I couldn't believe what I was seeing he seemed to be skating faster, making more efficient shots, everything had just improved.

Sid skated pasted us, mouthing a 'told you so' to me. I rolled my eyes at him. This game better be a good one for me to drive this far.
