A Favor for a Friend

Chapter 27

I hated admitting Sid was right. I couldn't even deny. Olli had made another goal and was truly amazing. We had perfect seats to see it too. Considering it was an away game there were far more negative reactions than positive. In fact, we were some of the only who were happy about it.

We won the game. The team was thrilled that the loosing streak was finally over. They were even more excited to see Olli playing well again.

"I will meet you in a little bit. I will call you when I'm done." I said to Jace.

"Alrighty, I am going to talk to Sidney, catch up a little bit." He nodded and got up.

I walked out and waited for the crowd to diminish a bit before I went to meet Olli. I had texted him already on where to meet me. Though he didn't answer, he had read the message.

I stood against the wall, looking down at my phone while I waited. I was a bit early. I got distracted with my phone and didn't hear Olli come up behind me. He hugged me from behind, taking me by surprise.

"My good luck charm is back!" He laughed and released me.

I turned around and laughed. "I don't think it was me." I shook my head.

"Shush, it was. I made two goals. You are here and you are wearing my jersey. Double the luck, double the scoring." He said.

"Whatever you say." I sighed.

"Are you going back home now?" He frowned.

"No,": I shook my head, "I will be here until tomorrow morning."

His expression brightened. "Good! I need to talk to you." He said.

"You are talking to me now though." I said confused.

"I need to talk to you again, later. Alone." He said.

"Fine, fine. Where do you want to meet?" I asked.

"Can you meet me at the hotel we are at? We can walk to one of the coffee shops." He said.

"Ok. Just give me the time and address when you know." I leaned against the wall and crossed my legs.

"Ok.' He smiled and nodded. He glanced over his shoulder at the security guard who had to come with him. "I have to go." He said.

"Ok, I will see you later." I nodded and took my phone out to call Jace.

"See you later." He waved as he walked with the security guard back to the locker room.

I went back to the car and waited for my brother, he took for what seemed like forever. I was meeting Olli in about two hours. That would give us both time to go get cleaned up. More him than me. I just had to check into my hotel. It wouldn't take too long.

Jace came back and got in the car. "How was your visit?" I said starting the car.

"Good, how was your boyfriend?" He said casually.

I groaned, "Not you too."

"C'mon Aliyah. He definitely is in love with you." He laughed.

"No he isn't! We are good friends! That is all!" I said getting frustrated.

"You are either blind or clueless if not both than." He mumbled.

"Am not." I muttered under my breath.

"Are too." He smirked. It wasn't any use fighting with him. He always had to win.

We pulled into the hotel paring lot and got out. We grabbed our bags and went inside to the lobby. It took a few minutes to check in but it wasn't too bad. We were up on the third floor in room 314. I was all the way down the hallway of course. It was literally the last room on the right side. We walked in and threw our bags down. I started getting ready to go to meet Olli.

I waited a few minutes after getting the directions. I got my shoes on and turned to Jace. "Please, juts don't have a million people here when I get back. I am going to want to sleep." I said.

"Can do, maybe." He laughed.

"Whatever, I will be back in about two hours." I said.

I walked out to my car and got in. I put the address into the GPS and drove to the hotel. I double checked the floor and room number. It was the fifth floor. I got on the elevator and pressed the button as someone walked in at the last minute.

“Well if it isn’t Aliyah.” Said a familiar voice across from me.

I looked up and rolled my eyes. “Hi, James.” I said.

“So whatcha doin’ here?” He smirked.

“Oh, don’t pretend like you guys didn’t all question Olli about it.”

“Smart girl.” He laughed. “We did pester him about it, it didn’t take much to get it out of him.”

“So you asked me why I am here, why?” I leaned against the wall as we passed the third floor.

“I don’t know.” He shrugged.

We stopped at the fifth floor and got out. I checked the room number on my phone again.

“You two lovebirds have fun.” James said teasingly.

“We are not dating!” I snapped.

“You will be soon, I would put money on it.” He said and stopped at his room, sliding the key card in, unlocking the door.

I sighed and shook my head. I knocked on the door of the hotel room and waited for Olli to answer. It took only a few seconds before the door opened.

“Hey.” I said and smiled.

“Hey. Are you ready to go?” He asked as he stepped out of the door.

I nodded, “Let’s go.”

We walked to the coffee shop down the street in silence. It wasn’t an awkward silence though. Neither of us minded it.

When we got there we ordered coffee and sat down. “I have something to show you.” Olli said as he sat down in the corner.

“What is it?” I said taking a sip of my coffee.

He took an envelope out of his back pocket and slid it across the table. “Read it.” He said.

I slowly unfolded the paper and looked down at it. The letter head was from the University of Pittsburgh. This couldn’t be what I thought. I continued reading it and stopped after I had read ‘You have been accepted…..’

“Oh my god.” I said with tears in my eyes.

“I wanted to tell you in person…. I was going to drive down to your house but you were here anyway.” He said.

“I can’t believe it.” I said jumping up and hugging him. He laughed and hugged me back.

“So you will move out to Pennsylvania?” He said.

I nodded. “Yes!”

“Can I tell you something?” He said biting his lip as I pulled away from the hug.

“Yeah, of course.” I said.

“I-I think I love you, Aliyah.”
