A Favor for a Friend
Chapter 33
We walked in silence. I could feel the tension Beau caused. He really didn't like him. "Hey, lighten up. You have no reason to be frustrated like this." I said with a soft smile.
"I can't help it. Believe it or not, I can hold a grudge." He said slowing down his walk a bit so I could keep up in heels. I had already twisted my ankle twice.
"Just be nice for one day, ok?" I sighed and looked straight forward.
"One day, that's all." He said, "But you have to promise me something."
"And that would be?....." I looked at him out of the corner of my eye.
"You come back home to Finland with me when I go back. It will only be for a few days. Three days max." He said.
"Finland?! I can't speak Finnish!" I squeaked.
"How abou-" He spoke before I cut him off.
"Or Swedish." I sighed.
"I can translate for you." He shrugged.
I paused, I wasn't too sure about it. Besides for America I had never been out of the country. I hardly count America, it isn't a big difference besides the fact that some of us speak French in Canada. I knew a little but I was nowhere near fluent.
"It won't be more than three days though. Nobody will bother you much." He said, he was almost begging now.
"Ugh, fine." I said looking up at the sky. I was the worst push over to ever live. Only if it was harmless though. That's how I got in this situation in the first place.
He smiled brightly at me. "It won't be for a while anyway. I can teach you a little bit." He said.
"You owe me big time for all of this!" I said pointing at him.
"Deal." He laughed, "Olet paras." (If it's wrong blame google)
"What?" I raised an eyebrow at him.
"It's Finnish for 'You're the best.'" He said.
"What is Finnish for 'I know?'" I asked.
"Tiedän." He said without hesitation.
"Then Tiedän." I laughed.
"See? You can do it!" He said and laughed with me.
"Wait..... Where are we?" I stopped and looked around.
"Oops......" He said trying to remember which way we went.
"Time for an adventure." I said slipping my shoes off at that point. I wasn't going to walk in those for as long as we were going to walk.
"Guess you're right." He nodded.
I smirked slyly, "Tiedän."
He looked over at me and burst out laughing. I couldn't help but join in.
"You are such a loser." He shook his head as he tried to regain his composure.
"Oh come on, you're setting me up for this one." I rolled my eyes.
"Ok, I admit I did there." He smiled and out his arm around my shoulder.
"Whatever, let's go back." I said. The alcohol had a little bit of an effect on me now. I was a little off balance and slow in speech but if I had to drive I could. Olli seemed to have the same feeling but a little less intense due to the fact he was probably twice my size.
"Screw it. I will call Jussi." He mumbled after a while and pulled out his phone. Jussi to the rescue.
