Lost in the Stars
Prologue
It's game five of the Stanley Cup Finals. The third period has just started and Chicago's up by two. Thanks to my awesome big brother Patrick.
I'm with my three younger sisters, Jackie, Erica and Jess, sitting center ice right behind the players bench. Being related to a player and working for the organization yourself sure did have it's perks. All four of us Kane girls were wearing matching jerseys, only difference are the numbers. Taking after Patrick, we all have our birth-years as our numbers.
As the game progressed, the more hope I had that the Hawks would be winning the cup again this year. I could just feel it in my bones. They would win again this year.
"Hey Chels, I think Tyler wants your attention." Jess says as she nudges me with her elbow.
"Wait what?" I ask, my eyes glued on the puck that was still stuck in our zone.
Jess breaks my focus on the puck by waving her hand in front of my eyes and pointing towards the Boston bench. Looking over I see Tyler smiling in my direction, waving now that he's got my attention. I wave back, my smile bright and cheery. I could also feel the butterflies forming in my stomach when he winked before leaving the bench for a line change. My other sister, Erica, must have caught that exchange between the two of us since she gave me a funny look.
"What?" I ask her, tucking my long blonde hair behind my ear as she crosses her arms over her chest.
"Is there something I should know?" She asks in return looking from me to Tyler who was skating towards the Chicago zone.
"Um, well I have a good feeling Tyler and I might become an exclusive couple?" I tell her, questioning the end of that sentence a bit myself. I wasn't positive but things were looking good for the two of us.
"Chelsea! Why didn't I know this sooner?!" Erica blurted out, her eyes widening along with her smile. She was probably one of the most supportive people behind Tyler and I's relationship.
"I kind of wanted to keep it on the down-low. I don't want to jinx it." I reply as my cheeks turn a light shade of pink. "Can we just go back to watching the game? It's almost over anyways."

After Erica and I's little conversation we all fell kind of silent in the last few minutes of the game. When the clock reached zero the whole place erupted as the goal horn sounded and Chelsea Dagger started playing. This is probably the number one reason why I love this team so much. The fan-base. Bandwagon or not, it's the fans that make this place live up to it's name. I know the United Center will be known as the Madhouse on Madison for probably forever.
Looking over at my sisters, I raise my eyebrow as if to ask 'Should we head towards the locker room now?' since we have the passes and so we could go congratulate/bug Patrick a bit. Getting our things, we pass by the many other fans on our way to entrance to the locker area. I let my sisters go ahead of me as I sneak into the women's bathroom that's down here.
Once I'm in there, I pull off my jersey as I take out my other t-shirt from my purse. Slipping into my other shirt I head towards the visitors locker. I told Tyler I'd meet him there after the game before they left for Boston.
I frown a bit when I see he isn't standing by the door when I get there. Then again, he did have to shower and change and pack up his bag, and I have been in the locker room plenty of times before with my brother and the rest of the hawks. It was nothing new to me.
Taking a quick breath I pull open the door, entering the visitors locker room. Fortunately everyone was still pretty much dressed. I won't deny it felt a little odd to be in here after a hawks home game, but there were only two differences. Nothing too big besides a different team and it was the complete opposite of the home locker room.
I got a few odd glances from some of the guys, probably because I've got my Kane jersey resting over my arm and I'm wearing a Boston shirt, in the Boston locker room. As I continue looking around for Tyler I feel a presence behind me.
"Lookin for me?" The person asks, as I quickly identify him as Tyler. The familiar sound of his voice makes me smile instantly.
"Yes!" I exclaim, wrapping my arms around him in a hug as he does the same. "I've missed you." I murmur as he picks me up off the ground a bit.
"It's only been a week Chels." Tyler says as he puts me down gently, placing a kiss on my cheek.
"Yeah well.. I still missed you." I reply looking up at him with a small smile before closing my eyes as he leaned in and kissed me on the lips.Tyler laughs, taking a hold of one of my hands as he leads me towards his stall gesturing for me to have a seat in the empty one next to his. How lucky he was to have so much space. Patrick on the other hand, I knew, was stuck between Jonathan and Sharpy. I had to admit, how often they teased him was pretty great.
"I like your shirt, by the way. Looks good on you." Tyler says as he begins to take off some of his gear, hanging his jersey up neatly on the hanger in his stall.
"Oh it does?" I ask, teasing him a bit as I keep my eyes focused on his. He'd get too much satisfaction if he caught me looking down at his, dare I say it, perfect abdomin. He worked out a lot and it sure did pay off. Not to mention the many tattoos that adorn his left arm.
"Yeah. So! Are you excited to come out to Boston for the next game?" He asks as he takes a seat next to me.
Nodding, "Yeah, I wish I could have been there for the other games though!" I say crossing my legs at the ankle as I stretch a bit.
"I wish you could have too." Tyler comments as he unties his skates.
I decide then that it's probably a good time for me to head over to the Hawks locker room. I knew Erica and Jess would definitely want to know what happened while I was here. They'd be dissappointed to find out nothing really happened. I don't care though, I at least got to spend some time with Tyler. I couldn't wait to be up in Boston for game six.
"I'll see you in two days." I tell Tyler as I stand up.
"Leaving so soon?" He asks getting up as well, grabbing my hand gently in the process.
"Yeah, gotta go congratulate the big brother on scoring twice tonight!" I exclaim, squeezing his hand gently.
Tyler scoffs pulling me closer to him which causes me to blush. He places his other hand on my cheek as he leans in, smiling a bit before placing his lips on mine. I can hear a few of his team mates telling him to get a room and whistling around us, which causes me to laugh a little into the kiss. Tyler pulls away, still keeping me close to him.
"So I'll definitely see you at game six?" He asks softly, looking into my eyes.
"Yeah, but good luck beating us babe!" I tease, kissing him once more and leaving before he can get another word in.
"It won't be us that needs the luck Chels!" I hear him shout as I reach the door, shaking my head I walk towards the Chicago locker room with a bright smile on my lips.
Notes
So, I hope all of you guys that are reading Eat.Sleep.Hockey. like this as well! I got the idea to do a little alternate universe where things about Chelsea's life were a little different. For instance, she isn't an ice-girl in this version, Brittany's an ice dancer, and the fact Chelsea is ultimately going to end up with Tyler instead of Brandon. They're already together at the start, actually. Those of you who aren't reading Eat.Sleep.Hockey. I hope you enjoy this and if you do, go check out Eat.Sleep.Hockey.! I'm sure you'll like that one, and it'll hold you over a bit until I update this again! Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this little preview prologue! I'm so excited for this to get started and to continue on with E.S.H!
