When she says baby

*Playoffs 2015*

This is a very stressful time for Sidney.

Not only are Sidney and I trying to plan our wedding, (yes I know what you’re thinking, they only just got engaged in March and they’re already planning they’re wedding?!). But Sidney and I decided to we want to get married this summer. We don’t want to wait, so as Sidney is preparing for playoffs, I’m attempting to plan our wedding. Sidney and I have agreed on two things. We want it small and we want it classy. No big, fancy, over the top million dollars spent, wedding. We want it small, cozy and intimate with only our closest friends and family.

We have also have chosen a location!!

Prince Edward Island!

I’m currently compiling a list of guests, we’re currently at one hundred and fifty-five guests, Sidney and I decided we want no more than two hundred people, seeing as the church can fit two hundred and thirty people comfortably.

Sidney and I have already chosen the people we want to stand with us at the alter.

My sister Genevieve is going to be my maid of honor, Sidney's sister Taylor is going to be one of my bridesmaids along with my childhood friend Audrey and my best friend from University, Stephanie is going to be the other one.

Sidney's groomsmen are going to be Pascal Dupuis, Marc-Andre Fleury, and two of Sidney's hometown friends, Adam and Collin.

This is going to be stressful on both Sidney and I but we are determined that we will make it happen and enjoy the playoff ride and the road to our wedding.

Round one of the playoffs are complete, the Penguins beat the Tampa Bay Lightning in five games. Sidney and I fell into a comfortable routine, on his days off he would spend a few hours helping me plan and sort things out. On game days I would put away the wedding organizer and focus on Sidney. When the team was on the road I would spend as much time as possible mapping things out but I would always put it down and watch the game.

I'm proud to say that we are half way through planning our wedding and have chosen a destination for our honeymoon!

Sidney and I don't really feel like going on a huge luxurious honeymoon so we are going to be traveling to Bar Harbor, Maine. We've seen plenty of pictures (thank you Pinterest) and it looks like a beautiful little town and there are some trails we can go hiking on and it's only a short ferry ride from Halifax.

"Sidney, baby, when are you going to have your tux fitting with the boys?" I ask.

"Probably this week sometime. Collin and Adam are flying down Wednesday so I'm going to say either Thursday or Friday, seeing as our next series doesn't start till Sunday."

"Sound good." I say penciling it into my organizer before closing it and walking into the living room and plopping down on the couch beside Sidney and snuggling into his side. Sidney wraps his arm around my shoulder and kisses my temple.

Round two against the Rangers was tougher, forcing Sidney and the Penguins to go the distance.

This round put stress on Sidney and we had a few small arguments, of course I understand that he needs to focus and that the playoffs are very important, but I need Sidney, I mean come on our wedding is only two months away!

After the argument Sidney and I didn't talk about the wedding the rest of the second round.

The day after the boys won game seven Sidney had a press conference to attend. I attempted to work some more on our wedding plans but we've come to the point in our planning that I need Sidney.
I became frustrated and stormed to mine and Sidney’s bedroom, I walk into our room and slammed the door. I flung myself on our king size bed and curled into a ball and began crying.

*Sidney’s POV*

I feel terrible.

I can’t believe I yelled at her.

I yelled at Sarah because she wanted my opinion, I yelled at her because she wanted my input on OUR wedding.

We didn’t talk about the wedding for the majority of the second round, for the first day Sarah seemed skittish, like she was scared of me, it was horrible. I never want Sarah to feel scared around me or because of me.I attempted to do the press conference as fast as I could, I had to get home to Sarah and apologize.

When I got home I saw paper scattered all over the kitchen table along with Sarah’s favorite tea mug and her laptop open, the only thing missing was Sarah herself.

I walked upstairs and found our bedroom door closed, I steppedtowards the door and that’s when I heard it, a soft sniffling sound coming from the other side of the door. My heart absolutely shattered. I swung the door open and I immediately rushed to Sarah. I dropped down to the bed and wrapped my arms around Sarah’s shaking body.

I was speechless, I honestly had no idea as to what to say. I kissed Sarah’s forehead and held her tightly to my chest.

“I’m sorry baby. Sarah, I’m so sorry for yelling at you. I-I just- uhh, listen Sarah, there is no excuse for my behavior, there is no reason for me to of acted the way I did. After I yelled at you that ever-present sparkle in your eyes disappeared and it broke my heart. Sarah I never want you to feel scared around me ever again. Hell you shouldn’t of been scared of me in the first place. Sarah, baby I love you and I promise you I will never ever act that way ever again. Sarah, please forgive me?”

At the end of my speech I allow my tears to fall.

Round three was tough, but what could we expect? It was against the Bruins.

After Sidney's confession everything was back to normal thanks to some fantastic make up sex.

We are for the majority finished our wedding planes.

Sidney had felt so terrible for yelling at me it had affected his playing in the second round but now he's back to normal old Sid and no one is happier about that then I am.

Tonight is the night. Do or die. Win or go home with our tails between our legs. Since the Pens won the Presidents Trophy, tonight’s game is here in the Burgh.
I’m sitting in the box with the rest of the WAG’s, Vero Fleury and I sit side by side, sporting our Pens jerseys with our husbands ( or soon to be) name stretched proudly across our back.

Vero and I spend the majority of the game with our hands clasped tightly together and yelling at the refs in French when we don’t agree with them.

Vero and I are on our feet for the final five hockey minutes of the game, our throats sore from screaming so much, standing together to watch the fate of the Penguins season play out…

They’ve done it.
The Pittsburgh Penguins are the 2015 Stanley Cup Champions.
We defeated the Colorado Avalanche in five games.
The city of Pittsburgh is going crazy, and the center of said craziness is coming from the CONSOL Energy Center ice.
I rush down to the ice surface and go running onto the ice in search of my fiancé. I spot Sidney and he sees me running towards him and meets me halfway, lifting me up in his arms and planting a huge kiss on my mouth.
“ You did it baby.” I whisper against Sidney lips before reconnecting my lips to his.

Today is The Day.
July 18,2015.
Today I marry my best friend.

It all happened in a hazy blur.
My dad is knocking on the door. I’m walking down the isle. I look up and see Sidney standing at the alter, the biggest smile on his face that I have ever seen. The tears rolling down his perfectly sculptured cheeks has I read my vows, and as they continue to fall when he says his vows. And the next thing I know I’m hearing,
“I now pronounce you, Mr.&Mrs. Sidney Crosby. You may now kiss the bride.”

Notes

I can guarantee you this is NOT the end of this story.

It is more or less like the beginning. hope this update brings forgiveness for my lack of updating.
