Come Closer

James backed away from me a little bit and grabbed my hands. Clearing his throat James got down on one knee.

“OMG…James” I started to cry and put my hands over my mouth.

“Will you marry me Meghan?”

I was crying so hard that I couldn’t speak, I could not believe what was happening in front of me. I just nodded my head saying yes. He got up and hugged me and went to grab the ring box out of his pocket.

“Oh shit.” He putted me down and patted his jacket and pant pocket, the ring wasn’t there. “Hold up a minute.” He turned and ran toward his car and pulled out a light blue Tiffany box.

He came back over opened the box and I almost fainted; putting the ring on my finger he kissed me softly.

The ring was so beautiful, a princess diamond ring, and a diamond band all the way around. It fit my finger perfectly.

I’m getting married to my high school sweetheart, how romantic is that!

3 Days Before James Proposed.

“Hey James.” Khloe answered her cell phone just walking into the hotel room.

“Where is Meghan?” he asked her.

“She is just finishing her workout downstairs, why?” putting her bag on her bed and sitting down next to it.

“I want to propose to Meghan.”

“OMG, OMG, YOUR KIDDING .”Khloe was almost screaming.

“Do you want to come with me to pick out a ring?”

“OMG I sure do!!! THIS IS SO EXCITING!” she was already putting on her coat. “Want to leave now?” she ask him.

“Meet you in front of your hotel?” he was getting his coat on as well. “I’ll drive.”

“Good, see you soon Meghan’s future husband!” Just as Khloe was almost leaving, Meghan walked in the door.

“Where are you going so fast?”

“Going to Paul’s house, Bye” and Khloe walked out the door.

“Hi, Welcome to Tiffany & CO, can I help you and your girlfriend find something in particular?” the sales lady said as they walked in.

“Gross he is not my boyfriend; he is going to propose to my best friend, I’m just here to help pick out a ring.” Khloe made a B-line to the engagement ring section.

James and Khloe took a seat in front of the ring cabinet and just stared at it in awe.
“Do you have any idea on what she likes?” Brittney the diamond expert took a seat behind the cabinet.

“She loves the princess cut diamonds, she likes plain, nothing to fancy.” Khloe piped up.

“What about that one.” James pointed to a beautiful 2 carat platinum band with round diamonds around it and a princess cut diamond on the top.

Brittney pulled it out of the case, and handed it to James.

“WOW” Khloe said “That’s so beautiful, it’s perfect”

“I think it’s the one Khloe.” James and Khloe looked at each other and smiled.

“It’s a go?” Brittney said.

“Let’s do it.” James got up from the table and went to pay for the ring.

James did not ask the price while looking at it. The price didn’t matter to him, he wanted everything to be perfect for Meghan.

“Alright, so your grand total is $43,400.”

Khloe’s mouth dropped open and her eyes opened wide. She watched as James pulled out his credit card and paid it with no problem.

We thanked Brittney for all her help as we left the store and $43,400 dollars later we walked out of Tiffany & CO with an engagement ring. James handed the ring box which was in a little bag to Khloe to put in her purse just in case someone recognized him and wondered what was in the bag.

On the way back to the hotel the two talked about how he was going to propose and what he was going to say.

“That’s for inviting me to look for rings. It was fun, its going to be awesome!”

“Hey Khloe.” James said just as she was closing the door.

“Yeah?”

“Do you have Brad’s phone number?”

“You’re going to call Meghan’s dad? You’re just so perfect.”

Khloe sat back in her car, pulled out her phone and gave James Meghan’s dad’s cell phone number.

“Good luck” those were Khloe’s last words before she closed the car door.

When James got home he dialed Brad’s number.

“Hello” Brad’s voice was soft just like he remembered from 7 years ago.

“Hey Brad, its James.” His voice shaky.

“Is this James Neal? I haven’t heard from you in what? 7 years, how are you?”

“Yeah, it’s been 7 years to long!” James was becoming more comfortable talking with him. “I wanted to talk to you about Meghan.”

“Yeah, what’s up?”

“I wanted to get your permission to marry her.” There was a few moments of silence. Fuck James thought, I just spent 43 grand on a ring for nothing.

“James…you have my blessing to marry my little girl.” James could tell that Brad was crying.

“Thank-you Brad, I will make her very happy.”

“Your welcome James.” Just before James hung up the phone Brad said one last thing to James.

“Oh and James, its about time you married her.”

James had a huge smile on his face as he hung up the phone.

Meghan couldn’t stop staring at the ring as her and James drove to his house.

“You like?” James asked, already knowing the answer.

“Do I like it? James I love it!” I started to cry again.

“Looks good on you!” Quickly looking at her and smiling.

We couldn’t get into the door fast enough, we closed the door and James pushed me up against the door and kissed me long and hard.

We started making our way upstairs losing clothes along the way, when we got to his room the only thing I was wearing was the new piece of jewelry on my finger.

We had sex just like we were teenagers again, hard but soft at the same time.

I looked in James’ eyes and saw my future.
