One Timers

Damien Brunner

“Mrs. Brunner, there’s someone here to see you.” My secretary says through the intercom.
“Okay, let them in.” I respond.
I’m not expecting anyone, but it’s normal for people to just drop into my office unannounced.
“Sophie, Mommy is about to have a visitor.” I tell my four year old daughter, who’s sitting at the desk across the room from me. “That means you have to be on your best behavior, okay?”
“Yes mommy.” She says, barely looking up from her coloring book. I’m so thankful she’s been such a fantastic child. Even her daycare says she’s one of the most well-behaved children they’ve ever had. I think she’s only had a couple of temper tantrums in her life, and those were when my husband, Damien, had to leave for long road trips.

I turn my attention back to the clothing on the table in front of me, hoping something will pop out and catch my attention. The photo shoot for the cover of the magazine I work for is tomorrow, and I just can’t figure out which shirt will look the best.

My thought process is interrupted by my daughter’s excited shrieks.
“Sophie, I told you that you have to-”
I stop when I see why she’s so excited. She’s gotten up from her chair and run right into her father’s arms.
“Damien.” I say, surprised. “You’re not supposed to be home until late tonight!”
Picking Sophie up easily, he crosses the room and gives me a big kiss.
“We decided to leave this morning instead. No reason to stay in Dallas, you know?” he says, tickling Sophie’s side. “I know you’re working, but I was hoping maybe you could take the afternoon off and the three of us could spend some time together.”

“Baby, I love that idea. But I still haven’t figured out what’s going to be on the cover for tomorrow’s shoot.”
“What are the options?” He asks. I point to the clothes on the table in front of me. “Easy, the red one.” He says.
“Why that one?” Sophie asks, playing with Damien’s brown hair.
“Because it’s daddy’s team’s color.” He responds with a smile. “Now convince mommy to pick that one so we can go to the zoo.”
My daughter’s eyes go wide and a huge smile crosses her face.
“MOMMY!” She yells. “You have to pick the red one ‘cause it’s daddy’s color and then we can go to the zoo!”

I chuckle and take a look at the red shirt on the table. It’s actually not a bad choice. It’s nice and loose, which will look great on the model we’re getting. And it has a cute bow on the shoulder that I like a lot. Plus, it is Devils red. Damn him, he was in here for two minutes and picked out the perfect shirt.
“Okay.” I say. “The red one it is.”
“YAY!” Sophie yells. “Now let’s go to the zoooooo!”
“You have to clean up your crayons first.” I tell her. Suddenly, she’s squirming out of Damien’s arms and as soon as he lets her down she goes running to the desk.

I laugh as I watch her and feel his arms wrap around my waist.
“I missed you so much.” He mumbles into my ear.
“Good thing that was the last long road trip of the season.” I respond.
“I think we’re overdue on a mommy and daddy night.” He whispers, lightly squeezing my ass.
“I would agree with that.” I squeak.
“Maybe we can convince Uncle Adam to have a sleepover with Sophie?” He asks, his eyes filled with desire. We haven’t talked about it recently, but we both know that we want another child.
“Sophie would make a fantastic older sister.” I respond. He groans a little and suddenly I’m wishing we were anywhere else but my office.

“I’m done daddy! We can go see the animals now!” Sophie yells, pulling us out of our small fantasy.
“Great job, princess!” Damien says, scooping her up into his arms. “Which animals would you like to see?” he asks.
I listen to her chatter away about the giraffes and elephants as I gather up my stuff for the day. I grab the red shirt from the table and we head out the door. I stop to let my secretary know that I’m leaving for the day, and hand her my choice so she can pass it along to the wardrobe crew tomorrow morning.

I hop into the car and send a quick message to Adam Henrique, asking if he would mind babysitting his favorite niece for the night so we could have a date night. He responds quickly, saying of course he will, but to remember that they have practice tomorrow so Damien can’t be too exhausted in the morning. I laugh to myself and watch Damien strap Sophie into her carseat like the fantastic father that he is.

I definitely want to have another kid with that man.

Can you do a Henrik Zetterberg one shot, NC-17 and the scenario is that she's a new member of the training staff and they get some alone time in the locker room?

I've read all of these now (at least once, sometimes more lol) and the Sidney Crosby & Tyler Bozak arcs are incredibly good. We NEED Part 3's on those. Maybe Philly has to go to the All Star Game and manage Sid because he FINALLY agrees to go one year -but Giroux is also there.... oh man, angry threesome?? As for Bozak, surely lunch turns into afternoon delight. Surely! :) Keep it up, these are great!
