One Step at a Time

Over all the party was a ton of fun, and I definetly enjoyed it. I couldn’t wait to begin work, and even better, get to know all of them. By about 11 I ended up going up to my room to change into my shorts, it was getting super-hot downstairs and I just wanted to be comfy, the party was slowing down and people were beginning to leave, by the time the it ended it was almost midnight and Kane ended up crashing early in his bed, leaving Jon and I to clean up.

“You don’t have to help ya know.”

“Nah, it’s fine, I kind of want to, give me that homey feel I guess.”

Jon smirked at me, “You know, you’re definitely something else.”

I stood up, and looked at him, confused, “What do you mean?”

He tied off the trash bag after I threw away the last coke bottle, and threw it in the trash chute. We walked into the kitchen and I sat down at the breakfast bar and he sat up on the counter across from me.

“Honestly, I don’t know. You just are.” He quirked

“Well, you’re a dork.” I said as I hopped off the bar stool and began walking to the stairs.

“Hey, where are you going?” He asked quickly.

“Well, I was going to go get my laptop so I could skype Tris, is that okay with you?” I retorted.

“I suppose it is.” I rolled my eyes as I quickly ran up the stairs, unplugged my laptop and grabbed it from my bedside table, and ran back down stairs. I saw Jon sitting on the couch watching tv and I went over and sat down next to him and powered up my laptop and quickly logged onto skype. I saw Tris wasn’t on so I sent her a text asking if she was up for skype, and immediately she logged on and called me.

“Oh my God! You’re alive!” She yelled, “Why didn’t I get a single text when you landed? I thought you died! We were so worried!”

“It’s nice to see you too, and no, I didn’t die. My phone died and I never had a chance to charge it, today’s been a crazy day. So many people to meet, I wish you were here. I miss you so much!”

Jon looked at me and rolled his eyes, “You’re such a girl I swear.”

I looked back at him, “Yeah, last time I checked I was, don’t think it’s changed and I’d be concerned if it has!”

He looked at me and laughed, “I hope you would be!”

“Hey, who are you talking to, turn me dude, now!” Tris yelled at me through the screen

“Great to see you’re back to being you, glad you’re taking this so well.” I said as I turned my laptop towards Jon. He looked down at the screen and said hey, she went speechless, he laughed and looked at me, “I think you killed your friend there,” I laughed at them, “Not too hard to do that.” I turned my laptop back to myself and she looked at me and began typing.

T: Sorry, Longmire is back on, and dude, O.M.G!!!
Me: Lol, calm yourself, it’s just Jon.
T: Jon?
Me: Yeah, Jon. Its what I call him lol.
T: Awww
Me: STFU! No, too early and not planning on ruining everything I have going right now.
T: Like what?
Me: My job? My house?
T: Mhmm, I better know more soon.
Me: Or you won’t because I doubt anything will happen!
T: Mhmm, look to your left.
Me: Doofus. Hey, I gotta get to bed, I’ll text you in the morning though.

I followed Tris’ instructions and looked over at Jon and caught him looking at me, he blushed and stood up and began walking to the stairs.

“Hey, where are you going?”

“Well it’s getting late and I have a lot of things planned for you tomorrow, it might be a good idea to get to bed.”

“Yeah, maybe, hey, can you hand me a bottle of water before you go please?”

“Ugh, fine, only because you’re pretty and I’m beginning to like you.” He winked as he walked to the kitchen and got a bottle of water. I turned my attention back to Tris who was staring at me and began smiling.

T: I heard that.
Me: What… just happened.
T: You know you like it.
Me: Dude, shut up. Did he really just say that?
T: Aww, blushing. Yes he did.
Me: I’m logging off
T: Noooo, he likes you! Okay? Let that sink in.
Me: I am, believe me. I am.
T: You like him don’t you.
Me: No…
T: I know that look.
Me: Shut up!
T: You do!!
Me: Only a little!
T: You two would be so cute.
Me: I’m logging off now!
T: Watch out.
Me: Huh?

I felt arms wrap around me and a head rest on my shoulder, “Whatcha talking about?” I heard the deep voice say, “ How did I know?”

I laughed a little, and bit my lip, “Know what?”

“You do like me, right?”

“I-I’m sorry?”

T: Well.. this is awkward..
Me: -_- thanks

“Don’t be it’s all good, I promise. Goodnight Alisa, sweet dreams. I’ll talk to you tomorrow.” He said as he kissed my head. “And Tris? Thanks for pushing that out of her, I was a little confused when I realized I was beginning to like her but didn’t know if she did.” He let go of me and walked up the stairs.

“Goodnight Jon, sweet dreams to you too… thank you.”

T: Omg, I think I just died.

“Anytime Lis, night.” He said smiling as he walked into his room. I stood up with my open laptop in one hand, and water in the other and walked to my room. I gave Tris the tour of my room and talked about Jon a little more as I hopped into bed.

T: You should thank me
Me: For what?
T: Getting that out for him
Me: You’re a dork, but yeah, thank you. I just hope it doesn’t make it awkward.
T: I don’t think it will. Anyways, I think you should get to bed, I hear Toews say he had a ton of things planned for you tomorrow and I need to crash too. Text me as soon as you get up. Goodnight, talk to you tomorrow.
Me: Sure thing, night to you too, talk to you later.
T: Better fill me in tomorrow
Me: I will, see ya.
T: Byeee!

She ended the call and I closed my laptop, set it on the table, called my dogs onto my bed and laid down and went to sleep. I didn’t know what just happened, but I just learned he’s beginning to like me, which I was more than happy about. I needed to talk to him soon about it, but for the meantime, I enjoyed my bed, and my new home.
