Beau shoved the last of his gear into his bag and he felt a tap on his shoulder, "You going out with us?" Brandon Sutter asked. The guys were going out to have some fun after a win against the Islanders.

"No...I gotta head home. Mandy will be waiting." Beau replied

"Ah can't disappoint the girlfriend." Brandon said, "You really should though. It's going to be fun!"

"You know what? Okay. I'll text her and tell her I'm going out with you guys tonight."

"Awesome! Nealer, Beau is in!" Brandon called to James Neal.

Neal smiled, "Great! I'll tell Engo. I'm DDing tonight. Not feeling up to drinking."

"Sweet. I gotta text Mandy though..." Beau sighed and grabbed his phone texting Mandy, his girlfriend of a few months.

Going out with guys tonight. Don't wait up for me.

But Beau...we had plans.

I'm sorry...I wanna go out and celebrate. I'll make it up to you.

Whatever. Have fun...

Beau sighed, "She's pissed..."

"She'll get over it." James told him as they left the arena and headed to the bar.

"I can't believe he ditched you again!" Georgia, Mandy's best friend exclaimed

"He just wants to have fun with his friends..."

"Yeah, but you're his girlfriend. He needs to make time for you."

"We went out yesterday..." Mandy defended

"Yeah...that's once in the past month. Every other night, he blows you off for the guys."

Mandy sighed, Georgia was right but she didn't want to believe it. Beau was a great boyfriend. but he never seemed to make time for her. He was always busy with games, practice or going out with the guys. "Georgia...he is a great guy..."

"I know that, but he never makes time for you...I think you two need to break up."

Mandy sighed, "I think you're right..."

"Who is up for a shot?!" Brandon called to his teammates

"Me!" Deryk Engellend pipped up

"Me!" Beau added with a laugh

"Not me!" James shot back

"James!" a blonde girl with a short skirt came up to them.

"Hey, Kylie!" James said hugging the girl. "Guys this is...my friend...Kylie."

"Hey." Beau said waving

Kylie smiled at him and then whispered something to James, "Uh sure. Guys, I'll be right back, okay? Call me if you want to leave before I get back"

With that, Neal left with her. "'Friend' my ass." Deryk laughed

"Right? They're definitely fucking." Sutter added

"She seemed nice...oh shit...Mandy is calling." Beau sighed

"Don't answer it!" Sutter said, taking his phone

"But...what if it's important?" Beau asked

"It isn't. It's probably something stupid about how you never hang out with her and blah blah blah. She needs to realize that you're her boyfriend and not her husband."

Beau sighed, "What do you mean,Engo?"

"She acts like it's a crime when you go out with your friends. You're not married to her...you don't have to spend every fucking second with her."

"Yeah! Also, you told her you were with us. When you're with her we don't call." Sutter added, finishing off his beer

"Dump her."

"What?!"

"Engo said to dump her and I hate to say it, but I agree. She's too clingy."

"But..."

"No buts...you know we're right. She's super clingy and obsessive. Call her now and end it." Engo said

"I can't just end it on the phone! That's rude!"

"Maybe, but if you do it in person...she's going to cry and you'll get back with her. I'm dialing her cell." Brandon called Mandy's number and shoved the phone up to Beau's ear before he could argue.

"He's calling." Mandy sighed

"Answer it..." Georgia said

Mandy took a deep breath and answered, "Hello?"

"Hey, Mandy...it's me." he replied

"Hey...what's up?"

"Listen...we have to talk...I don't really want to do this on the phone, but you leave me no choice. You act like I should spend every second with you...you call every time you know I'm out with the guys."

"Are you breaking up with me over the phone?!" Mandy was furious.

"Yeah..."

"Asshole!" she yelled, hanging up. "He just broke up with me!"

"Well...now you don't have to do it." Georgia sighed

Mandy started crying "I just...I can't believe it's over..."

"Well...she took that badly." Beau sighed

"Be relieved, man! You're free." Sutter laughed. "Now where the fuck is Nealer?"

"Still of with his 'friend'." Engo laughed

Beau sighed and took another sip of his drink. There'd always be more girls. He was a hockey player. He could get any girl in that bar at the minute, but still. He sat by himself, waiting for Sutter to find Neal.

"Let's go boys." James called "What's wrong Beau?"

"I broke up with Mandy..."

"What? Why?"

"She's controlling." Sutter replied

"These two idiots convinced you to break up with a great girl because she wants some of your time?" James sighed

"Well...yeah..." Beau admitted

James sighed, "Let's go. We're going to her place."

"What why?" Beau asked

"Because you're going to apologize for being an ass and beg her to take you back."

"Oh my god..." Georgia gasped looking out the window

"What?" Mandy asked

"James Neal's car just pulled up...Beau is with him."

"Oh my god...I'll be right back." Mandy slipped on her jacket and headed out to the car, "What do you want Beau?"

"I came to apologize...I was being an ass."

Mandy sighed, "Beau..."

"Please forgive me?"

"Beau, listen...you're a great guy and all, but I don't think this is going to work out..." Mandy sighed, kissing Beau's cheek. "You're a great guy and all and someday, you'll make a girl really happy...but it's not me."

With that, she headed back inside and closed the door. Beau sat back in Neal's car "What happened?"

"She ended it...." Beau sighed

"Sorry, man...."

"It's okay....it wasn't meant to be, I guess."
