Wake Me Up

Kapitel Et

Amalie did not want to go, just the bare thought of the 24 hour long plane ride gave her a headache. All the airports, and sitting around got her anxious. And to make the situation even better, she was in the company of her best friend Cecilia, and her brother Mathias.

Not to get her wrong, she loved them both, but after Kristian, she was tired of couples and only wanted to throw Cecilia and Mathias off the nearest balcony.

She wasn’t a bitch, just someone who got good and properly screwed over.

Standing in a mess of suitcases, clothes, and various cords to her precious electronics, she sighed. Cecilia was in her living room, since Amalie kindly asked her to leave in the words of

“If you don’t fuck out of my room right this instant, then I will have Mathias castrated”
Thankfully, Cecilia listened.

She knew that Amalie wouldn’t be too thrilled about this trip, but she needed it. Kristian fucked her up good, and she needed a change of scenery, so when her cousin Peter asked if they wanted to come visit him in Chicago, she said yes and booked the tickets right away.
Hopefully, these two months would do some good.

“Cil, do you happen to know where my sunglasses are?” Amalie yelled from the her room, finally almost done with packing.

“Nope, but what I do know is that if you packed a few days ago, then we wouldn’t be in this situation and you would’ve found your sunglasses.” Cecilia scorned, looking at her phone. “Now, hurry your ass up. Mathias is on his way up.”

“I’m all done!” Amalie replied, snapping a picture of her bags for Instagram, posting it with the text,

off to chi-town w/ @cilla567 and @joergensen67! any must sees? xx

People knew who she was, social media extraordinaire. Anybody with access to YouTube had probably run into her vlogs in one way or another. She liked it, and didn’t mind one bit to have her life shared with a few hundred thousand people.

It had opened up a bunch of doors, to an entirely new world. She had travelled the world, and met some amazing people. Job offers flew in from left and right, some were small companies asking for her to sponsor their products, she had even gotten a minor role in a Danish/Swedish tv show.

“Hello to my favorite girls! Ya’ll ready to go?” Mathias asked as soon as he entered her small apartment.

“Yep! Oh, Amalie, that reminds me, I bought a jersey for you to wear!” Cecilia smiled, grabbing one of Amalie’s suitcases, seeing as her own was already in Mathias’ car.

“I told yo-“ Amalia protested until she was interrupted by her friend.

“I know, I know! But I also know that you are going to regret it if I didn’t bring one.” She smirked and took Amalie’s keys out of her hand, to lock the front door after them. Amalie rolled her eyes, and followed her big brother to the car, with her best friend in tow.

Going through security and baggage claims, wasn’t a huge hassle as it normally was. Last time she was in an Airport was when she was going home from Playlist Live back in ’12. And that took her 36 hours, because of flights being cancelled.

“So, Starbucks?” Amalie suggested, pointing towards the famous coffee shop.

A hour later, they made their way on to the plane, and quickly finding our seats. Amalie, being the lucky one, got to sit next to the isle.
An hour and a half later, they landed in Helsinki and quickly left the plane to find the next terminal.

“Okay, so we’re going to Manchester now, and taking a plane there to Chicago right?” Mathias asked, looking over his ticket, as they sat in the uncomfortable blue airport chairs.

“Yep. We’ve got a few hours to kill in Manchester though” Cecilia replied.

“Why didn’t we just take a direct plane instead? It would’ve taken 9 hours, instead of 24?” Amalie wondered, annoyed that they are wasting so many hours. She hated traveling by plane, she wasn’t very fond of flying.

“It was way cheaper, Peter offered to pay for the plane tickets, but I couldn’t do that since we’re going to be living with him for this long.” Cecilia sighed, “Which reminds me, are you going to stay in Chicago after we leave again?”

Amalie shrugged her shoulders, “I don’t know. Christopher offered to help me find an apartment over there. I want to, and it’d be way easier with all the work that is now coming my way.” She said “I like Copenhagen, but leaving you guys?” She stated, fumbling with the cover on her phone.

“We wouldn’t mind at all! You need a change of scenery, and I am sure Chicago can give it to you.” Mathias assured his little sister, gently nudging her shoulder. “We could have Peter show us around, so you can get a feel of the city, so you can make the right decision” Mathias continued, Cecilia agreeing.

“And perhaps, you find a cute boy!” Cecilia exclaimed, smiling wide.

“No!” Mathias disagreed.
