If We Ever Meet Again
Everything Has Changed
Michael didn't think about much else but Courtney for the rest of the night. He had gone to the Fisher's place, but his thoughts continued to travel to her. What's her job? How did she end up in Nashville? Carrie noticed DZ staring off into space for the billionth time and finally said, "What's DZ thinking about so hard?" Michael smiled softly, "I think you know. It is your fault, anyways." Carrie mocked a shocked expression. "My fault?! Courtney is someone from home that I happened to invite. Mike didn't tell me you were coming!" Mike quickly interjected, "Hey! Hey! Don't go blaming the match making on me, Carrie Fisher!" Michael laughed. "Whatever, thanks for inviting me Fish. I'll see you tomorrow morning." As he headed for the door, Carrie called "Wait, DZ!" Michael turned and Carrie handed him a piece of paper. "I didn't give this to you." Carrie said and opened the door for Michael. Michael just shook his head and walked out of the Fisher's house.
When Michael was in his car, he looked at the piece of paper. In Carrie's perfect penmanship was "Courtney: 615-239-4159" and a heart next to "Courtney". He rolled his eyes, but smiled widely. Michael shoved the paper in the glove box and pulled out of the Fisher's driveway.

Courtney finished toting the last few boxes from storage into her new condo. She leaned back against the closed door and surveyed the work that still needed to be done. There wasn't any furniture yet, one of the many purchases Courtney has yet to make. The brown boxes were practically overflowing with stuff. Courtney decided against unpacking for right now, and headed for the kitchen. In the freezer was half a pint of Ben & Jerry's half baked ice cream. She popped the lid off and grabbed a spoon from a drawer. Courtney hopped up on the island and began to think about the gorgeous hockey player she met. Michael had acted so happy and interested in her. She smiled at the way he had kept looking at her, but in the same breath realized DZ probably looked at a lot of girls like that.
Well, she thought, DZ won't be interested when he finds out what I do for a living; I can't be interested in him, that's for sure. Courtney sighed. Why did she have to get into a profession filled with so many attractive bachelors? Courtney quickly polished off the rest of the ice cream and decided to at least get her desk set up..and maybe her sheets on the bed. The last few nights Courtney had just slept on a mattress because she has no clue where the sheets are.
Just as she plugged in her Macbook into the wall, Courtney's phone began to ring. She walked over to where it was on the floor and picked up the call. "Hey Kyle," she smiled. "What's my intern up to? We've missed you!" "I've been busy with moving and shit. Dealing with UHaul is a nightmare." Kyle's deep laugh rumbled through the phone. "There's that feisty attitude I've missed! So have you met any of the Preds yet?" Courtney began to chew on a fingernail, a bad habit she's never been able to break. "Yeah.." She hesitated. "What?" Kyle urged. "Well, one knows who I work for but the other doesn't know yet." "Who?! Court, why didn't you tell him?" "Del Zotto," she sighed. "I don't know, he just got here and I don't want to be that stereotypical annoying PR person." "Well he's gonna find out soon enough. I still can't believe you got this job!" "I know," Courtney smiled. "Thank God that guy was such a lying asshole." Kyle chuckled. "What time is it?" "Ten," Courtney finished one nail and started on another. "Well, baby girl, it's time for you to go to bed. Gotta be bright eyed and bushy tailed for the first day on the job!" "I might vomit," Courtney wasn't be sarcastic at all. "You'll be fine! Love ya, Court." Kyle always is a source of comfort for Courtney. "Love you, Ky."
Kyle and Courtney met the year she interned for the local minor league team. He was one of the first players to really let Courtney into the group. They were like brother and sister. They still talk almost everyday, texts or calls. Courtney decided to take Kyle's advice and head to bed.
Notes
I love hearing from you all! I hope you like it!
I apologize for the god awful typo. It won't let me fix it and the page keeps crashing. It's supposed to say: I'd never thought that I'd catch this, Lovebug again.
