One Shots

"Nate, stop!" you cried, laughing. Nathan had come over to cheer you up, since you were sick. He was trying to tickle you, succeeding partially before you kicked out and caught him in the arm.
"Oww," he whined, before grinning again and attempting to tickle you again. This time, your laughing fit morphed into a coughing fit and your chest burned.
"Sorry, sorry!" Nate whispered regretfully as he held your convulsing body to him. "That was a terrible idea."
“No shit, dumbass. I told you before that it was a bad idea,” you snapped once the fit had subsided. You saw him flinch, and winced. “I’m sorry, that was really rude and i didn’t mean it.”
"So… what now?"
"I don’t know, you’re usually the one with ideas."
His face brightened. “Video games! What have you got?”
You glanced over at your television setup. “Just my Wii, but I’ve got a few games. Mostly single player, like Twilight Princess or Skyward Sword,” you started, attempting to get up and search, but Nathan pulled you back down and went to get them instead.
"You should stay in bed, I guess, since you’re sick." You sighed, but nodded your affirmation.
"I think I’ve also got MarioKart, Super Mario Bros Wii, and Super Smash Bros Brawl-"
Nathan cut you off with a whoop. “Oh, we aresoplaying Brawl!”
You laughed at his enthusiasm. He quickly grabbed the disc, inserting it into the console and grabbing your two remotes. “First player?” he asked, holding the remote with the first blue square lit up out to you.
"Always," you grinned, grabbing it and starting up the game.
"I call Pikachu!" Nate yelled, plopping down cross-legged beside you. A broad smile beamed on his face, and you could see his excitement.
"I’m taking Link, then," you announced, selecting the Legend of Zelda hero. Nathan gasped.
“Noo, I totally forgot about Link! I want him!”
"I got him first, so you can’t have him! He’s my favorite character anyways," you argued back, smirking at your boyfriend’s pouting face.
"Fine, I’m taking Zelda."
"You’re such a dork," you laughed, leaning over to kiss his cheek before the round started.
"You love me though," he replied with a wink, still grinning.
"We’ll see about that after the game."
