Eddie Lack (3)
Eddie grabbed your hand, pulling you along. While in Florida for a three-game road trip, he had a day off and you decided to take him on an adventure: visiting Busch Gardens in Tampa. You knew he loved animals, and this would be a new experience for him. You wandered around for a while, visiting the flamingos. Eddie thought they were too stinky; you asked him if they smelled worse than the team after a hard game. He laughed, replying with, “Never. We stink.”
You found the lorikeets, small, bright-colored tropical birds who loved to drink nectar out of little cups. You thoroughly enjoyed them, although you thought Eddie didn’t feel exactly the same. The little lorikeets loved to swoop around by his head and sit on his shoulders, nibbling on his ears. It was adorable, to be honest. You couldn’t help but crack a smile.
After a little more walking, you decided to take a rest, observing all the other tourists and watching the animals. It was nice, just relaxing like that. But soon, Eddie wanted to get up and go explore more. With a sigh, you agreed, and he quickly found where he wanted to go next- the lions.
Eddie watched the lions for a long time, not saying anything. “What’s wrong?” you asked.
“I renamed that one Lu. Lu’s a Panther now.”
“Eddie, these are lions, not panthers.”
“He’s still a pussy,” Eddie joked. “I mean a cat!” he added quickly once you glared at him.
“That’s not very nice.” You raised an eyebrow at him.
He shrugged, turning around back to the lions. You thought he was ignoring you, until you heard him shout at the lion, “I’m so sorry Lu!”
