One Shots

Beau Bennett (4)

“Hey, Beau,” you smiled, leaning against the wall. “Hey babe,” he replied with a wink and a quick kiss. “How was practice?”

“Oh, normal, I guess. Good. It’s just nice being back on the ice with all the other guys, y’know?” He shouldered his small backpack, leaning against the wall beside you. You talked for a little while, until you saw a few of the guys peeking out of the dressing room. Beau didn’t see them until you looked away and someone whistled. “Hey, would’ya look at that! Beau’s got a girl!”

There was a smattering of laughter and Beau whipped around, but they had all disappeared.

“Hold on for a sec,” he growled, stalking off towards the dressing room. You heard more laughter, some angry words, and when Beau didn’t come out after a few minutes, you decided to take matters into your own hands.

You knocked on the door to the locker room, loudly. It got quiet, and you crossed your arms, waiting. “Beau!” you called. No answer, but shortly after there was more laughing, and you heard someone call out “Hey, Beau! You need your woman to protect you now?” You heard a smack, and you guessed Beau had either slapped someone or punched them. More shouting ensued, and it sounded like it was getting physical. You knocked on the door once more. “Boys, you can stop horsing around right now, or I’m opening the door and coming to kick your asses in 5… 4…

The room quieted, and someone opened the door. It wasn’t Beau, but he came out with a grin. “My name Geno,” he said in a Russian accent. “Beau has hands full with team. You have hands full with him.” He gestured inside, and you took that as a cue to step in, briefly mentally preparing yourself for what you could see. Fortunately, everybody was (at least, mostly) clothed. Geno followed, still grinning, and found his own spot along the bench.

Beau stood in the center, looking almost sheepish. His hair was pretty tousled now, but you thought it made him look cuter. The rest of the guys had scattered, back to their own stalls, and were now watching the spectacle unfolding. “Beau, was that really necessary?”

Beau grinned. “Uhh, yes?”

“Wrong answer.” You tugged his arm, letting him know it was time to go. Actually, it was way past time to go. He reluctantly followed, glancing back at the guys. Someone shouted something after you, but you didn’t catch it. Beau grinned and chuckled when he picked it up.

“What did he say?”

Beau shrugged casually. “I don’t know. Borts said something like ‘Make sure you marry her!’”

“And what are your thoughts on that?"

He leaned down and kissed you. ”One day.”
