My Sister, Your Girl

Today was the day James and I were leaving for Nashville.
One of the hardest things I had ever had to do.
The truck was filled with bags; James’ whole life had been stored into suitcases. I had only 3 bags compared to his.
“Im going to miss you V.” I hug Vero tightly.
“Me too C.” She sobs softly.
“Ill see you soon okay?” I say giving her one last hug.
She nods with a pout.
I say my goodbye to Tanger, Kuni, Geno, Marc, Beau Bennett, Pascal Dupuis and
I walk to Sidney. His head was bowed and his eyes glued to the ground.
“Now you.” I say picking up Sidneys chin with my fingers.
“Its only a few months.” I say. I felt like I was constantly reassuring myself that everything would be okay.
“I love you. ” He said says simply planting a soft kiss on my head and bringing me into his strong embrace.
I nod before returning the phrase he had said to me.
I pull out of his arms and kiss him softly and passionately. He hugs me tight again kissing the top of my head.
I kiss him for the last time before pulling away.
“Ill see you soon.” He says.
I walk to James who is standing at the truck. He takes a good look at his home before wrapping an arm around my torso.
I look up and into his devastated eyes. This was the hardest thing he has had to do.
“It will be okay Jamesy.” I say smiling, fighting back tears myself.
“Yeah.” He says simply, his voice cracking.
“Thanks for doing this for me Cam, it means so much to me having you come with me. Im sorry I had to do this to you.” His voice says softly.
“Hey James, you’re my brother, I would do anything for you.” I say looking up to him. He nods softly before grabbing my hand. I give him a reassuring squeeze before letting go and getting into my side of the truck. James walks over to the driver’s side, getting in and letting out a sigh.
I take his hand in mine again looking out the window and waving. Sidney is staring at the ground, Vero is wrapped in Marcs arms, Beau, Tanger, Kuni and Pascal are waving slowing with sad faces, and Geno has a arm around Sidney.
I tear up looking at Sidney and how devastated he looks, his eyes still focused on the ground.
“You know you don’t have to come, you can change your mind.” James says pausing.
“You can stay with him, he needs you.”
“You need me more James.” I say softly.
He inhales deeply and nods slowly. He starts up the truck before peeking out the window again.
I look out and see Sidneys face staring at me. I form a pout with my lips and give him an air kiss. He closes his eyes before looking at the ground again.
That’s the last I see of Sidney as James pulls out of the driveway.
