My Sister, Your Girl

Chapter 6

“Seriously, that looks amazing on you Camellia!” Vero says sitting in front of the changing room with her bags at her legs.
“I really do love it.” I say spinning around in the look red maxi dress. It was strapless and flowed all the way to my feet. I give Vero a smile before getting unchanged and purchasing the dress. “This is going to be breaking Marc’s bank account.” Vero laughs as she too buys a cute pair of jeans.
“Oh well.” I snigger.
Vero and I had been shopping for hours and weren’t quitting anytime soon. For the past few days after our tipsy session at the Fleury house we have seen each other everyday. Whether it be for shopping, coffee or lunch, we have made it a day.
“So the boys leave tomorrow.” She says.
“Yes! Girl time!” I laugh.
“Even when they are here we still have girl time!” She laughs.
“That is very true.”
We go into the remaining shops in the mall and about an hour and a half later we are driving home. Surprisingly when we reach my house after dropping Vero’s bags home, Marc’s car is in the driveway.
“Must have had a boys day too?” Vero asks.
“I think so.” We walk in and up the stairs so I can drop my bags in my room. Just when we are about to leave the 5 boys are standing at the entrance.
“Shopping?” James asks.
“Veronique.” Marc says.
“Im sorry, I had to.” She pouts.
He rolls his eyes, “Im sure.” I can’t hold in the laugh anymore.
“Im sorry Marc! I think im a bad influence on her.” I laugh.
Vero is next to me smirking before bursting into laughter also. Marc is shaking his head while the boys are patting him on the back.
“Girl’s will be girl’s.” Geno says.

“This is really good Vero and Camellia.” Kris’ says while the others nod.
“Naw boys.” Vero exclaims.
“Should be on one of those cooking shows.” Sidney laughs.
I smile at Sidney. “These boys are such suckups.” I laugh taking another bite of the food.
Vero nods her head.
“But, they are still washing up, no matter how many compliments they give.”

We finish eating the meal Vero and I had made together. We sit together on the couch while the boys tidy the table and wash.
“You really are meant to be a housewives.” I laugh from the other room. They just glare and role there eyes while Geno holds in a laugh. He looks at me and Vero placing a finger to his lips, before going up behind Marc and whacking him on the but with his tea towel. He backs off and raises his hands as an angry Marc turns around.
“No me!” He says in his Russian accent.
Vero and I laugh hysterically.
“Oh calm it down Marc.” She giggles. He just glares before smiling a little.

After the boys finish there task, which took them longer then it should have, we are all watching tv. Vero is next to me with Marc on her other side and Geno on the other side of me. Next to Geno is James and Kris is at the feet of Vero and Sidney at mine. Laughter is filling the room with Sidney throwing his head back in a fit of giggles at something Kris said. I look over at James who smiles a heartily smile. I feel content and at home with the people surrounding me, and things couldn’t be better. I give him a smile back before him nodding and joining in on the convocation.
The night ends as greatly as it started.
Vero and Marc leave but not before Vero embraces me in a big hug.
“See you tomorrow girly.” She says.
“Bye V.” I say back.
After the couple leaves I say goodnight to the boys and go to my room. I am tucked into bed when my big brother walks in and sits at the foot of my bed. I pat the spot next to me and turn the big tv on as he crawls under the sheets.
“That was really fun James. Thank you.” I smile looking at him.
“Don’t thank me for anything, you are the light of this house.”
“You let me into my life, a complete stranger, you didn’t even know me, hell you didn’t even ask for a DNA test. You have made me feel at home more then I ever could in Maine.” I say. “Actually, you never did ask me for a test. I can get one if you want.” He cuts me off before I can say anymore.
“You know Cami, when I first met you, and you told me I was your sister I didn’t believe it could be possible. But I felt it. I felt it as soon as you stepped into the locker room asking confidently to talk to a person of the name of James Neal. My mind didn’t believe it but my heart did. I knew you would be a person to change my life. At the time I wasn’t exactly sure in what way,” He laughs.
“You said you would pay for child support! Just don’t ruin my career.” I laugh.
“Yeah, well, I wasn’t sure exactly how you would change my life, but you did. For the week you have been here you have already made me a better person. I don’t know how that’s possible, but I also thought having a sister wasn’t possible. But it is. And you’re my little sister now.”
I feel so special with what James just said to me. I have to try and not to cry! I hold the tears in and simple hug him.
“Thank you James, for believing that im your sister.”
“No, thank you Cami, for being my sister.” I rest my head on his shoulder happy with the convocation I just had.

I wake up early the next morning. After the convocation I had with James I guess we both fell asleep. It was fine with me since James was a heavy sleeper and luckily didn’t snore. I get out of bed and go down stairs to have breakfast.
Sidney is sitting on one of the high bar seats and also eating.
“Someone is up early.” I say. He flinches then turns around.
“Scared ya?” I ask laughing.
“Don’t do that.” He laughs.
“I am a morning person, you on the other hand, not so much.”
“Well, I have some interviews this morning. I have to leave in 5.”
“I can take you?”
“Yeah, you would do that?” He asks.
“Yeah, sure. Let me get changed.” I say running up the stairs.
I stop so I don’t run in and wake James up. I quickly grab some leggings and a Maine University hoodie.
“Okay, lets go.” I say slipping on some boots and grabbing a muffin.
“Here.” Sidney says handing me a cup of on the go coffee. I smile before grabbing my keys and walking out.
“We are taking the black beauty.” I demand.
“Yes ma’am.” Sidney laughs.
“Geez, I didn’t think it was that early.” I laugh looking at the clock.
It was just over 6:00.
“Yeah. Its very early.” He says. “You go to Maine University?” He asks.
“No, my cousin did.”

The car is silence, but not awkward silence. It is a comforting, friendly silence.
“So you and Vero are good friends?” He asks.
“I think me and Vero are best friends.” I laugh.
“You guys are going away today?”
“Yeah this afternoon.” He says.
“So I will pick you up in how long?”
“2 hours if that’s okay?” He says.
“Sure, sounds good.” I drop him off at the entry of Consol after a short drive with little traffic. He starts to walk off but comes back.
“Thanks again.” He says through the window.
I smile as he walks off and I drive back home as the sun begins to rise for a new day, which has already turned out to be a busy one.
