Finally Saturday was here and even though I only got about 6 hours of sleep I was up and ready for the day. I grabbed my water bottle and my skating stuff and left for the day. When I got to the rink I was the only one there, it must show that I am crazy about skating. I had the ice to myself for the whole two hours I had ice time. I would have just slept in but I paid for two hours a day except Sunday, I do need a day off, but ice time was not cheap. I may not have a job now but every summer I had about three jobs since I graduated high school. I saved a lot because when I was still in Michigan I did not have to pay for ice time, the rink gave me the last two years I was in Michigan for free as a graduation present. So because of that I had a good chunk of change in my bank account.

I was starting to work on putting together a routine. I was going to get some of the sequence of moves together and run them by Leigha later at noon. I am the type of skate that thinks go big or go home. Some are play it safe. And then some are the insane ones, more insane then me. They are the ones who injure themselves. But, I am a step below them I push myself to the point right before injury.

Once my two hours were up I took a shower in the locker room they had. This rink was built for figure skaters, they had a locker room, showers and a shop so we can order new things if we needed them.

I went and had some brunch at this Coney Island down the road from the rink. I just wanted to sit there and enjoy some yummy food. I always get a breakfast sandwich on a bagel with some fruit and extra bacon on the side, with a breakfast smoothie with protein powder, and a big glass of milk. I know that sounds like a lot for a skater but I only do it once a week. It is a Guilty Pleasure.

I still had about two hours before I had to go to the rink again so I went to the mall to just walk around for a little bit. When I was just pulling into a parking spot I got a text from Leigha.

I decided to run into Sephora to grab some new make-up. I decided to throw away all of my old make up because I only used it when doing skating competitions. When I walked into Sephora I went and grabbed a train case, a new brush set, some Urban Decay makeup, Smash Box, MAC, and Kat Von D. I walked out with tons of things but I knew it was ok because I needed them. I looked at my phone seeing I had enough time to go home do my makeup and grab my personalized Wing Jersey.

Once I did my make up with some red and silver colors, I was ready to head to the rink. When I got there I put my jersey in my bag and walked in. I saw Leigha sitting on a bench with about six tall hockey playing guys around her getting their skates on. Leigha looked up and waved for me to come over.

“Hey, Leigha. I am so excited to just skate for fun.” We hugged each other.

“Me too. Addi this is Jordan Staal my husband,” he waved to me, “this is Evgeni Malkin but we call him Geno, then there is Kris Letang, Marc-André Fleury we call him Flower, Maxime Talbot,” they all waved at me when she said they name. “And last but not least Sidney Crosby.” He waved and smile at me. I kind of melted on the inside but didn’t show it. Leigha and I laughed a little because we both knew I liked him. “Guys this is Addison Michaels. I call her Addi.” I waved at them.

“So ready to show the ladies that hockey players are better skaters?” Jordan laughed and all the guys were agreeing with him.

“Sorry boys, I bet I could skate circles around you.” I egged them on. We got on the ice and just skated a little bit.

“Addi, think we should show these boys up. I bet they can’t do what we can do.”

“Oh really. Anything you can do I can do better, Shorty.” I laughed at this. Leigha skated around and got ready to do a Triple Axel. I smiled when she killed it.

“Go Leigha!!! You killed it!” I yelled out to her and some others were clapping. The guys just stood there staring at her.

“You go try it Hubby!” She shoved Staal and he went and tried to copy her and failed big time. Leigha and I doubled over laughing at her. Even before I could say anything I was skating to go into a Triple Axel too. I killed it also. I skated over smiling and high fived Leigha. I looked over to Sidney and smiled at him.

“That was great Addison. I didn’t know you skated too.” I smiled.

“Yep, see we told you that we could skate better then you boys.”

“Well, you proved that you could figure skate better than us. How about hockey?” Sidney got a cocky smile on his face.

“Addi, do you think we could take these boys in hockey?”

“I will be honest I think you and I can take two of them but not all of them.” We laughed.

“How about we get the other ice rink opened so we can play a game of two on two hockey?” Staal said. We all nodded and headed off the ice. Once off I got my blade guards on and followed the group. Sidney walked back with me and we talked as we walked.

“So your new in town?”

“Yep, just moved here from Michigan.”

“Oh, a Michigan girl eh.” I laughed at his accent.

“Yep.”

“So, I bet you are a Wings fan.” Laughing a little bit because of what I had in my bag.

“You bet. Osgood is my favorite goalie.” Flower gave me a sad look when I said this. “Sorry, Flower, I haven’t seen you play enough to really say you are my favorite. But, you are second. Ok?” He smiled at that.

“I bet we can change you being a wings fan into you being a Pens fan!” I had to laugh at that.

“You can try. How about we make a bet? If you win the hockey game then I will let you and anyone else turn me into a Pens fan. If I win the hockey game then I stay a Wings fan and you have to take me to a Wings game and wear Wings gear. Deal?” I held my hand out and looked at Sidney. He looked at me and shook my hand.

“Deal! Bring it Michaels!”

“Bring it Crosby”

“Leigha lets kick these guys asses.” He high fived and got some hockey gear on that Staal got the rink to rent to us for free.

“Bring it girls!” The guys were already ready for us to play some two on two hockey. Right before I went onto the ice I grabbed my Wings jersey and skated on.

“You are really going to where that here in Pittsburgh, when you are in the presence of some Penguins. You got some balls!” Jordan said and then Leigha smacked him on the back of the head.

“Yes I am really going to where it. I love the Wings. And if I knew that I was in the presence of some Penguins I would have brought some fish for them.” I smiled. “Lets just play some hockey!”

It was a heated game between me, Leigha, Crosby, and Staal.
