Prove It To Me - Continued

I Don't Like Tim Hortons (Chapter 16)

Sid struggles to open the door behind him as we desperately embrace each other in a kiss in front of our hotel room door. When he finally manages to open it, we almost fall to the floor. Laughing, we make our way to the bed. Things are getting heated, and fast. Gently Sid pushes me on to the bed and positions himself over me. I moan a little as Sid plants kisses along my neck. I begin to work at undoing his belt buckle, while he slowly lifts my shirt up. Despite it being our first time, there is a sense of trust. Sid is gentle and takes his time, two things Kyle was never any good at.
"What's wrong?" Sid stops and looks at me with worried eyes.
Quickly I dismiss any thoughts of Kyle, it's not fair to Sid, "oh, uh nothing. I'm just thinking about how much I like you."
He looks into my eyes and smiles, "I like you too."
We kiss with such compassion, such care, I actually begin to cry. Again Sid looks at me in confusion.
I manage to sputter, "I'm just really happy."
He wipes away my tears with his thumb and kisses me again.
We don't get any sleep till much later that night.

My eyes slowly flutter open to the sound of Sid's alarm, today it's the Hockey Night In Canada theme song. Looking over to my right I ruffle Sid's bed head hair. He turns on the bed side lamp and breaks out in a lazy smile that almost sends me into cardiac arrest.
"Would you stop that?" I say in exasperation.
"Stop what?"
"Everything" I motion to his whole body, scoffing.
He laughs and squeezes me lovingly. I suddenly remember just how naked we are, our sheets being the only things covering our fully exposed bodies. No longer running on hormones, my face burns bright red.
Sid notices, "no you need to stop being so cute. I can't believe you're blushing right now."
Hiding my face under the sheets I say, "I can't help it!"
"It's ok, I like it. We gotta get up though, practice starts in an hour and a half. We'll pick up some Tim Hortons on the way for breakfast."
"Tim Hortons? Who's that?"
"Right, you're American. You'll see."

"Normally the whole team would place one big order and someone would pick it up, but since you've never been I figured we could drop in," Sid explains as we wait in line at Tim Hortons.
I learned that Tim Hortons is the name of a Canadian coffee shop, and it does smell quite good.
"I would suggest either the toasted everything bagel with cream cheese, or a simple honey cruller doughnut along with a double double coffee," apparently Sid is a regular.
"Hmmm... the honey cruller sounds good."
"I think I'll get the bagel."
Once I'd decided on my order I took a good look around for the first time, only to see that every single person in the building was staring at us.
"Everyone is staring at us," I whisper.
"It's Montreal, they know their hockey here," he replies, unphased by all the attention.
"Welcome to Tim Hortons, I can help you over h-", the cashier stops as she looks up from her till to see Sidney Crosby.
He smiles politely and begins to order. The girl is speechless, she punches in all the orders and only manages to squeak out our total. As we wait for Sid's bagel a women around my age comes up to us.
"Hi, I'm sorry to bother you, but I'm such a huge fan and I'd love to get a picture with you," she asks, not even glancing at me.
"Uh yeah sure."
"Here, take the picture," the girl shoves her phone at me with a death glare.
She takes her place next to Sid, almost protectively positioning herself. I almost let out a laugh, but keep my cool and take the picture.
She rips the phone out of my hand and turns back to Sid.
"How Canadian is it that I just met you at a Tim Hortons?" she flirts.
Sid's bagel is placed on the counter, ready to grab and go.
"YepsoCanadiannicemeetingyoubye," I spit out and grab Sid's hand and bagel.
I speed walk out of the door, dragging Sid behind.
"I don't like Tim Hortons."
Behind me I hear Sid killing himself laughing, but I continue to pout, holding back a smile. His arms wrap around me as he hugs me from behind.
"Aw is somebody jealous?"
"No, that girl was just so rude. Who does she think she is?"
"Don't mind her, she doesn't know the real me like you do."
"I bet she'd like to, maybe she even dreams about it every night while wearing your jersey."
"Stop that," he says sternly,"lets head for practice before I'm late."

We arrive at the Bell Centre in a taxi to a hoard of Penguins fans waiting outside the arena back doors. All are calling to Sidney. Some already have signatures on their jerseys from other players, I assume the rest of the team has already arrived.
"Go on in and find a seat in the arena. I'll just be a little bit," he says before taking the time to sign people's jerseys.
I smile and head on in. Him stopping for those fans reminded me of the first time we met at the Consol Energy Center. I pass by Dan Bylsma on the way to the rink and smile, but he doesn't return it, I don't put much more thought into it though. I turn a corner in the hallway and physically bump into Flower.
"Hey look who decided to show up! Stayed up late last night?" he exclaims with the raise of an eyebrow.
"Shut up," I laugh and continue to the rink.

Sid is the last person on the ice. It causes a lot of commotion, apparently that never happens. While the other players warm up, Dan takes Sid off to the side to chat. I can tell it's a serious conversation by their facial expressions. Every once in a while Dan will look at me when talking to Sid and I begin to worry they're talking about me again. After a few minutes Dan blows the whistle, but not before Sid gives me a look with furrowed eyebrows I can't quite read.

Notes

I don't know if you've all noticed this, but I have been making references to some of Sid's well known quirks as the story goes on. I have one more left to bring up in the next chapter, but I'm curious if you guys have been catching on. So far I've mentioned 4 that I can remember. Can you guys name them all? They are for the more informed Crosby fans I will admit. A hint is that three of them were brought out in the original Prove It To Me, and three are in the very title of the chapters (not the same two). See if you can figure it out, but I am being a little vague.
