Alive [CONTINUED]

Forty Six

"Jon, seriously?" Selena growled.

The game ended nearly two hours ago and Jon hadn't emerged from the change room yet. Selena kicked the door and it flew open. He wasn't in there. She growled and stomped to the stands. It was pitch black. She froze when she spotted him in the middle of the ice with a single light on him. He had a grin on his face while her eyes were narrowed at him.

"You made me wait two hours." She huffed.

"Babe, go to the top row." He instructed.

"That's a lot of stairs." She whined.

"It's worth it." He reassured her.

Selena sighed but climbed the steps. She reached the top and extended her hands. "Okay!"

Jon smiled before all the lights over the ice flicked on. Selena looked over the ice. 'PROM?' was written out in pucks with Jon in the centre of the O. She let out a gasp and covered in her mouth. He smiled, seeing her reaction. She ran down the stairs and he walked over to the door. She hopped into his arms, causing him to slip a bit. Her lips found his.

"Yes, yes, yes. Fuck, yes!" She cried as she held him close.

"Is that a yes?" He smirked.

"I can't believe you did this." She almost whispered.

"Only the best for you, baby." He sang before he kissed her.

Ainsley was pissed. Ainsley was more than pissed. She was furious. She was dating the captain of the god damn team and she still hadn't been asked to prom. She didn't want to go to the game tonight. She didn't want to see Sid. She wanted to hurt him. It wasn't like she was asking for some showy promposal, she just wanted to be asked. She was pulled from her anger by her phone ringing.

"Hello?" She growled.

"Hey, what time should I pick you up?" Sidney asked.

"I don't know if I want to go." She hissed.

"What? Ains, I haven't played a game without you." He whined.

"Right, your rituals and shit." She sighed. "Pick me up when you want."

"What's wrong? Why are you so upset?" He frowned.

"It's nothing. I'll see you later." She hung up.

Sidney pulled up a little while later. Ainsley climbed into the front seat without a word. He didn't push her to talk. They arrived at the arena. She waited at the side of the car for him to grab his things. As angry as she was, there was nothing she loved more than seeing the looks of utter disappointment and sadness spread across all the girls there for Sid. He swung his bag over his shoulder and held his sticks in the same hand. His free hand extended to Ainsley. She took it, wrapping her fingers around his. He smiled a bit.

They made it through the trap of girls on the prowl. Ainsley made sure to show that Sid was hers as they walked with each other. She let go of his hand when they were out of view. He took a deep breath. She walked away from him with her arms crossed. He sat his bag down and followed her.

"Ainsley, what's up?" He called.

"Everyone else has been asked to prom and I look like an idiot, Sid." She huffed as she turned to face him.

"You'll be asked soon. I told you to have patience." He sighed as he grabbed her face.

"Well I don't and you're the worst." She pouted.

"Wear my jersey tonight." He said as he handed it to her.

"That's lame." She rolled her eyes.

He stuck out his bottom lip. She rolled her eyes and pulled it out of his hand. He smiled and gave her a kiss before he walked into the change room. The rest of the girls showed up and they all stood by the doors. The guys filed onto the ice for warm up. Ainsley stood in Sidney's jersey. She pouted as he skated around. He kept looking over to her. She just glared.

Jocelyn was recording the entire thing. Sid was gearing up to ask Ainsley to prom. She was the only person unaware of it. He circled before he skated over to the glass. She furrowed her brows at his as he held up the blade of his stick. 'Prom?' was written across the blade of it. Ainsley gasped, covering her face. All the girls laughed. She held her forehead to the glass. Sid cocked a brow and she nodded. He opened the door and stepped off the ice.

"I don't like you." She spat as she walked over to him.

He smiled, pulling her into him. She kissed him, holding the back of his neck. He kissed her back before he slowly pulled back. She just shook her head at him.

"Now you can stop complaining." He grinned before he kissed her again.
