Tongue Tied

47

Alex hated spas. She hated spa days. She hated random people touching her feet. She was ticklish beyond belief, that was why. She sat tight as the lady working worked on her pedicure. It was torture. Another lady worked on her nails while she had a face mask on. Apparently, Nathan had instructed her friends to treat her to this. She was thankful, obviously, but she had to let him now she hated this shit. She just got a simple French tip on both. She didn't really know what else to get.

After that, the girls dragged her back to the dorm. Truthfully, Alex just wanted to go for a nap. There was still a view hours until her dinner. She could slip in a nap if she tried. She laid down on Kya's bed while the three whispered about something. Alexa looked over at Alex and shook her head. She pulled her up. Alex frowned at her friend. Erica went into the closet and brought out a long dress bag. Kya kicked a shoe box towards them. Alex stared at everything in confusion.

"Hair and make up done, then you can see the dress and heels." Kya said.

"I have to know what it looks like to do my hair and make up." Alex smirked.

"No, we hired someone to do it." Erica mocked her, opening the door to some girl. "All yours."

Alex's make up was simple. She was never one for much make up and clearly her friends informed the stylist about that. Her hair was curled and part of it was clipped back. The stylist thanked the girls before she left. Alex stared at her friends until they brought the dress bag back out and took it out. Alex's jaw dropped. It was a black "Maja" gown from Maria Lucia Hohan, with shoulder straps, a structured bustier, gold-tone embroidered leaf detailing at the sides with exposed sheer paneling, a floor length pleated skirt section and a sheer section at the back of the waist. She loved it. She had tried to order it for her prom dress but it was too expensive.

"How did you guys kn,"\

"Not us." Erica cut her off.

"Mr. MacKinnon." Alexa told her.

"Really?" Alex smiled. The girls nodded. "God, he does too much."

"He loves you." Kya smiled at her friend.

Time past quickly and by the time all the girls were ready, the guys were there to pick them up. Alex didn't even wait for Nathan to come up. The met in the hallway, him rushing up to her. She stopped a little ways from him. His smile spread across his face when he saw her. She smiled at him. He walked over slowly.

"You look so beautiful." He breathed.

"Come here and kiss me." She demanded.

He did as he was told. He held her waist while her arms wrapped around his neck. They kissed for a while before the rest of their group came down. Ryan tossed a duffle bag at her. She caught it, furrowing her brows. She opened it and saw a few changes of clothes. An O'Reilly shirsey sat on the top. She shook her head at him.

"That's your gift." He smiled.

"What about the other clothes?" She asked.

"We're going out after dinner and then you're sleeping at Tool's house." Gabe gestured to Nathan.

"He's not a tool. He's the best boyfriend ever." She pouted, wrapping her arms around his waist.

"Yeah, he really is." Kya agreed.

"Hey!" Tyson exclaimed.

"You've never bought me a quarter of the shit he got Alex." She stated.

"It's not about the gifts." Gabe interrupted.

"Okay, there are people waiting for us." Nathan said, taking Alex's hand.

They all drove in separate cars. Nathan took the long way so he would have more time with Alex. She didn't mind. He kept a hand on her covered knee the entire drive. She had her hand over his. Music softly played as they drove. Nathan looked over and saw the ring resting on her finger. He smiled. She noticed. She lifted her hand, pulling the ring off. She extended her hand to him.

"Our number." She smiled.

He flushed. "They told you I said that?"

"Yes, and I love it." She sighed. "I love you. Thank you for doing all this. You've made this an amazing birthday."

"I'm not done yet." He said before leaning forward to kiss her.

"You do too much." She whined.

He rolled his eyes, putting his car into park. "I would give you the world if I could, Al. I'm hardly doing enough."

She glared at him as he climbed out of the car. He opened her door for her, helping her step out. He kept a hand on her lower back. He handed his keys to the valet while they walked into the restaurant. He walked up to the maƮtre de with a smile.

"Hi! Do you have a reservation?" She smiled.

"MacKinnon." Nathan told her.

She nodded and guided him to the table. Everyone else was there. They all stood and cheered when Alex walked in. She smiled at the guys she hadn't seen earlier. Matt stood up and was the first to greet her. He hugged her, squeezing her tight. She held onto him. He pulled back, handing her a gift bag.

"Open that later." He whispered. "I also finally brought Megan out."

Alex gasped, looking down the table. There was a girl sitting by herself. Alex smiled and looked back at Matt. She tapped his cheek before walking to the next person. Nathan took her gift from her so she could interact with people. He kissed the side of her head as she walked by. She smiled. She hugged Jamie, then Varly, and the rest of the guys. Eventually, everyone found their seats and ordered their food.

Alex was at the head of the table. Nathan was to her left, Erica on her right. Matt was opposite of her. They stared at each other. Alex wanted to go sit with him and learn all about his girlfriend. She looked sweet, and from the amount he talked about her, Alex knew she was good for him. Nathan caught her glancing and nudged her foot with his. She looked to him and he furrowed his brows. She just smiled, leaning forward to give him a kiss.

"We have some late arrivers." Jamie's voice boomed.

Alex looked up. Dana and Melissa were standing behind Matt. Alex gasped and shot up, running over to them. She jumped into Melissa's arms before she switched to Dana. She hugged both of them before she pulled back. Nathan was now at her side. He hugged each of the girls before putting an arm around Alex.

"I can't believe you guys flew out for my birthday." She cooed.

"Could we say no when all star paid for it all?" Melissa smirked at Nathan.

Alex spun around with her jaw hung. He shrugged at her. She grabbed his face, kissing him passionately. She pulled back, still holding his face. He chuckled. She frowned before she wrapped her arms around his shoulders. He held her waist, rubbing her back. She pulled back and tears were rolling down her cheeks. He wiped them then kissed her forehead. She took a deep breath.

"No crying." He ordered.

"It's my birthday and I'll cry if I want to." She grinned. "Really, Nate, I can't thank,"

"I don't want you to thank me." He cut her off. "I want to do this for you, Alex."

She kissed him again. After that, Alex caught up with her old friends for a bit. She looked down the table at Matt and Megan. She smiled at them. They kinda remind her of herself and Nathan. Matt tried to take a bite of her food and she moved her plate away. Alex held back a laugh. She figured once she caught up with old friends, she could make a new one. She walked over to the couple, making Matt share his chair.

"So, you are the famous Megan." She smiled.

"Famous?"

"Matt doesn't shut up about you, honestly." Alex blabbed. "I mean, he does when I'm stressing out, which I'm always doing, but other than th,"

"She gets it." Matt groaned.

"Don't be embarrassed. Nathan talks about me all the time." She shrugged.

"You and Nathan have been together for twelve years, what else does he have to talk about?" He rolled his eyes.

"Not even close to twelve." She shook her head.

"You do fight like brother and sister." Megan chuckled. "Matt's briefed me on you."

"Only good things, of course." Alex smirked.

"Oh, god, no. All he does is bash you." Megan admitted.

"Megan!" Matt cried.

"Asshole!" Alex yelled, whacking him.

"I'm kidding. He's told me only good things." Megan laughed.

"How could I ever say anything bad about you?" Matt asked Alex, wrapping an arm around her shoulders.

"That's what I'm saying!" She exclaimed.

The mob finished dinner and made their way to their homes to change for the club they were off to. Alex went to Nathan's. She changed into the clothing that was packed for her. Someone had bought her a new dress. It was white with black animal prints all over it. Someone had backed her black booties and a white clutch. She thanked her friends. Nathan walked into his room as she stripped out of her gown.

"What a sight." He hummed, kissing her neck from behind.

She stood in just her undergarments. "Y'know, we don't have to go out." She smirked, resting her head on his shoulder.

"Unfortunately, we do." He frowned then kissed her.
