Knock 'Em Dead, Kid.
one
"Hayley, I'm homeeeee!" My voice echoed throughout the living room, as I walked through my best friends apartment door. Instead of being tackled in a long awaited hug, I was met by an eerie silence, which is unusual since Hayley always has some sort of music playing.
I scrunched up my eyebrows in confusion as I got a good look around the apartment. Clothing was scattered through out the living room on the furniture and floor. There was a bra hanging off the TV, a white t-shirt on top of the coffee table, and. . . I felt my eyes widen as I noticed the grey boxer briefs in the hallway that were haphazardly laying next to a door that was ajar.
'There's nooo way Hayley's getting laid. She was the most innocent one out of herself, Ashleigh, and I..'
I was broken out of my thoughts as I heard a girlish giggle that could only be Hayley, that which was quickly followed by a loud moan. I felt the heat creep up my neck as I heard a guy's deep voice commanding her to say his name.
'AND she's into some kinky stuff. Whatta whore, I can't wait to tell Ashleigh about this.' I smirked slightly at that thought.
All of a sudden the silence in the apartment was broken by what sounded like the headboard hitting the wall.
Thud. Thud. Thud.
'That is definitely my cue to leave.' I thought as I hurried through the door, slamming it behind me.
I practically ran to the elevator, just as the doors were opening. 'Oh thank the good lord.' I wasn't watching where I was running as I slammed into what I thought was a brick wall.
"Omphf!" I cringed getting ready to hit the floor, but it never came. I cracked open my eyes, only to see a grey jacket stretched across a muscular chest that was blocking my vision. I could feel their hands on my hips, making sure I had steady footing as the stranger let out a chuckle.
"Whoa there. I know I'm hot, but you don't need to run into me." A deep voice mumbled, as he helped me stand straight. I felt the blood rush to my tan cheeks as I glanced at the adorable guy who had a huge smile on his face. "Just kidding, are you alright?"
"Yes, thanks for catching me." My voice squeaked at the end, causing him to chuckle again.
"It's not everyday I get to catch a beautiful girl," He smirked as I ducked my head at the compliment, "What floor?"
"Uh.. the lobby please." I shot him a shy smile as I looked at his face. 'He's cute.. and he's got brown eyes. I'm a sucker for brown eyes.' I shook my head slightly, getting rid of those thoughts.
There was a silence between us as the elevator descended to the ground floor. I couldn't help but try to sneak glances at him. He was dressed pretty casually in a pair of basketball shorts, Nike running shoes, and a grey zip up jacket.
I didn't realize I was staring until he looking at me with a smirk and a quirked eyebrow. I fumbled for a response, trying to recall what he might have said.
"Uh.. w-what did you say?"
"I asked if you lived here, in the building?"
"Nope, I was here to visit one of my best friends. . but that was an awful idea. I really should have called or texted her beforehand." I shivered in disgust as the disturbing images flashed through my head.
The elevator pinged, opening the doors showing off the lavishly decorated lobby. I stepped off the elevator, with the guy trailing behind me.
"What did you see?" He asked following me out of the elevator.
"You know, I don't usually tell strangers about my life. For all I know, you could be a rapist." I gave him a teasing smile as he gave me a pointed look.
"...How did you know? I didn't think I was coming off that strong!" He joked, nudging me. "Well, at least I don't have to waste my candy on you now." I laughed at that ridiculous remark.
"But you DO owe me. I did save your life in the elevator." He put his hand over his heart dramatically as he gave me a cocky little smirk.
I rolled my eyes as I let out a over-exaggerated sigh, "I guess I do owe you for that. Well if you're not busy, you can join me for coffee?"
"Well, I was planning on going to the gym with a few of my friends.." he mumbled as I frowned slightly. "But I'm always up for being late." He wiggled his eyebrows at me as we walked through the lobby doors and into the chilly Chicago air.
I giggled and shook my head softly. "You're something else..." I trailed off, realizing I had no idea what his name was. 'Classy Ashton.' I scolded myself mentally 'And I plan on going to get coffee with him.'
"Andrew. My names Andrew." He grinned at me.
"I'm Ashton. It's nice to finally know the name of the stranger who save my life." He struck a heroic pose as we walked side by side down the street.
"Yeah, and you owe me for saving your life too!" He winked at me as I rolled my eyes. "So what coffee shop are we going to?"
"Uhh.." I stopped walking as I realized I had no idea where we were going on this busy Chicago morning. "Funny story actually. I have no idea where one is..."
He started laughing as I blushed in embarrassment. "You really don't know of anywhere?"
"Cut me some slack," I pouted crossing my arms as people kept pushing past us. "I just moved here about a week ago. I haven't had enough time to explore."
Andrew shook his head as he took a soft, but firm grip on my arm and lead my down the street. "Don't worry," He sent me a grin "One of my favorite coffee shops is right around the corner."
I let out a huff as I allowed him to drag me down the sidewalk. I let my gaze slip down, and smirked slightly.
This view isn't all bad. At least he has a nice butt..
Notes
So, this was a little bit of a rough start. I promise the next one will be better, but I've had this idea swirling around in my head for the past couple of weeks. So why not set it into motion? This is my first hockey story, since I finally discovered how much I enjoy it at the beginning of this years season.
Tell me what you think! I love hearing other people's thoughts.
PLease update!!
