Proving Everyone Wrong
One
Meg's POV:
"Babe, the figure skating meeting is in the other rink. You should probably head on over there, hockey isn't for women." Says the boy standing in front of me. By the looks of him I'm placing my bets he's a defense player not a forward.
"Funny you should say that actually, I was going to say the same to you." I replied and the room of about four other guys quickly filled with "ooooohhh" and laughter. The defense player took a step towards me trying to intimidate me but I'm used to that sort of thing so I just took a step towards him and said "you must be a freshman, I don't remember slamming you into the boards the past three seasons." His expression, priceless.
"Hey what's go---Meg! The hell you doing here?" Tray said as he wrapped me in a hug pulling me away from the confused and still fuming defense player.
"We'll I'm kind of sick of New Jersey since I spent my whole life there so I applied here and got accepted, packed my stuff and left! How've ya been?" I replied while still in his embrace.
" I've been really good, you?"
"Better now that I'm out of Jersey." I said with a small smile. Tray then looked around the rest of the room at the five other guys before saying "So you all must be the freshman this year. Congrats on getting into the University of North Dakota's hockey program. I'm Tray, number 22, team captain. Just follow me in to the next room and you can meet the rest of the guys and coaching staff." He said smiling extra wide when he told them he was Captain. Defense dude just glared at me before storming after Tray. The four other guys soon followed suit giving me sideways glances but luckily no threatening looks.
"Damn freshman better start to get used to the idea that he can either like me and know who I am or be prepared for some shit to go down." I thought to myself before following the guys out.
