Picturing You and Me
Chapter 1
Chapter 1
As I walked around the city, I never realized a person could get so lost so easily and so quickly. I tried my best to look like I wasn't lost, but that didn't help very much because someone came up to me asking me if I was lost. I told them I wasn't and that I was just fine. They told me they had seen enough people get lost in this city and they could tell I was one of them. They asked me where I was headed and I said to the Consol Center to meet with someone. They said they knew exactly where that was and offered to lead me there. I accepted and followed them to a building a few blocks away. When we got there I thanked them hoping they'd leave me alone now, but they asked who I was meeting. I told them I was meeting with Dan Bylsma. They said they knew exactly where to find him at this time of the day and lead me there. They knocked and opened a door revealing a sort of large room with only one person occupying it at the time.
"McKayla, right?" The man behind the desk asked.
"Yes," I answered with a smile.
"I'm Dan, we spoke on the phone yesterday, it's nice to meet you," he said standing up and reaching his hand forward.
"Hi, Dan, it's nice to meet you too," I returned the statement by shaking his hand,
"Alright, Sidney, you can leave now," he said looking to the man behind me who had lead me in.
***
When I shut the door to Dan’s office, I couldn’t wait to tell the other guys what I had done. I knew they would absolutely love it, especially one of them. I tried to get myself together before I walked into the locker room, so they wouldn’t suspect anything at first. When I opened the door and walked in, they didn’t say anything besides hitting me with their sticks as a welcome to practice hello. When they had all hit me, I knew -or thought- I was in the clear. I didn’t want to answer any questions about why I was a little late, because I was never late.
“Sid, what take you so long?” Geno asked taping up his stick.
“Yeah, Sid you’re never late,” James added in.
“I had some business to take care of before I came,” I said hoping they would just leave it at that.
“He has a secret! What is it Sid?” Chris yelled out.
“It’s nothing, really. Let’s get ready for practice,” I said sitting down by all my stuff.
“C’mon, let it out,” James said leaning over staring me down.
“Okay, okay, I was leading someone to Dan’s office,” I said not planning on saying anything else.
“It’s about a girl,” Chris said smiling and rubbing his hands together, like he was planning something evil.
“Uhhhh,” I said kind of trailing off.
Notes
This is my very first story about hockey. Let me know what you think. If you want me to continue I will. It's only short, because I want to know if I should keep it going. If I should continue it, I will make the rest of the chapters longer than this.
