Baggage Claim

Brooke spread out her arm across the other side of the bed to find an empty space beside her. She opened her eyes to notice that Sidney had left her in bed alone and she pouted slightly. Sid had been amazing to her ever since her birthday and every night since he had gotten home from their last preseason game, he had been trying to make it up to her. Though Brooke had already forgiven him, she was enjoying every single apology she had been getting.



Brooke rolled onto her back and pulled the covers up over her bare shoulder to shield herself from the cold of the room. Fall had settled in and Brooke wasn’t complaining. She enjoyed being able to throw on one of Sidney’s sweaters and cuddle up on the couch to read her case studies and enjoyed being able to crawl into Sidney’s arms every night to find a warm welcome. She sighed when she realized how fast approaching his season was coming and how seldom those nights would become. “What was that huff about?” Sidney asked as he walked into the room. He was wearing a pair of running shorts and a pen’s workout shit that was damp with sweat. They had an off day today and with the Olympics coming up, Brooke knew that for Sidney, it just meant an extra day to hit the gym.



“Just thinking,” Brooke said looking up at the ceiling.



“Well that can’t be good,” Sidney kidded, earning a pillow thrown in his direction.



“Very funny,” Brooke said smiling at him. Sidney walked over to sit on the edge of the bed next to Brooke while he took his shoes off.



“You know I’m joking,” he said leaning down to give her a kiss but Brooke turned her head only giving his access to her cheek. Brooke smirked up at him while he pouted down at her.

“That wasn’t very nice,” Sidney said trying to make it seem like he was hurt.



“Oh, poor baby,” Brooke said, sticking her lower lip out at him. Sid laughed and tickled her sides a bit.



“No, but what’s got you thinking Blake?”



“Just you,” Brooke said playing with his hand. Sidney had crawled in bed beside her, sitting up against the headboard and wrapped his arm around her shoulders.



"I’m hoping nothing bad has come from that,” Sidney said feeling a bit nervous.



“No, no,” Brooke said feeling a little guilty for making him think that something was wrong. Sidney seemed like he was walking on thin ice the past week when really he had nothing to worry about. “I was just thinking about how much I’m going to miss you when you’re playing on the road in a couple weeks,” Brooke said looking up and Sid. She could see a sense of relief pass over his face but she could still see the seriousness he always carried with him.



“Well I’ll make my best effort to text you when I can, and call you at night. And you also have a penguin stand in so hopefully that with lessen the blow,” Sidney said pulling her into him a bit more. Brooke loved that he was trying more and knew that it was a big step for him. She wrapped her arm across his waist and tried to snuggle into him as best as she could.



“Thank you,” Brooke said tightening her hold on him.



“For what?” Sidney asked resting his lips on top of her head.



“For being amazing and for trying,” Brooke said, looking back up at him. Sidney smiled a small smile at Brooke and leaned down to kiss her. It was a slow and simple kiss that made Brooke’s toes tingle and butterflies flutter in her stomach. When Sidney pulled away from the kiss Brooke smiled up and him and bit down on her bottom lip. Sidney took a deep breath and leaned his head back against the headboard.



“I should probably go and have a shower,” He said, pulling away from her. He sat on the edge of the bed looking back down at her and smiled thinking about how lucky he was to have her in his life again and to be apart of her everyday life that he had always wanted deep down. Brooke laid on her side with her head propped up on her elbow.



“What?” Brooke asked with a quizzical look on her face.



“Nothing,” Sidney said turning to take his shirt off and shaking his head. Brooke had decided right there and then that there was no way he was taking that shower alone and got up and kneeled behind him planting a kiss on the back of his neck. She moved over to his left shoulder and planted another kiss causing Sid to turn and look at her. Brooke made way back to his neck leaving another kiss and finally ended on his right shoulder.



“I think I’ll get the water started,” Brooke said leaning in to kiss him on the lips and crawled off the bed, heading to the bathroom. Sidney wasn’t far behind her and by the time she had the shower running with the temperature the was comfortable enough, he was standing behind her with his hands finding their way to her hips. He kissed her right shoulder the same way she had done to him, only he trailed kissed all the way over to her neck and up behind her ear where he knew she loved. Brooke let the water and Sidney roam over her body while she stood there experiencing every single drop of water and touch they were leaving on her skin.

Sidney turned Brooke around so she was facing him and he looked down to see one of his favourite views in the entire world. Sid attached his mouth to right side of Brooke's neck and his hands explored her body. He moved his left hand up to Brooke's breast and gently massaged it allowing for her nipple to become erect while his other hand moved down to her ass where he pulled her into him. Sid sat down and pulled Brooke towards him as she placed her hand on both of his shoulders. She rested both of her knees on either side of Sid’s large thighs and eased herself down onto his erection.
