Forever Chicago

Never In My Wildest Dreams

*Arianna’s POV*

“Arianna Michelle Bouchard, will you marry me?” Jon was looking up at me expectantly as I was unable to form the word yes. I stood there with my hand over my mouth and my eyes as wide as they had ever been as I looked down at Jon and the ring that was in the small velvet box. It took me a minute and Jon started to look very nervous, but I finally found my voice again.
“Yes. Yes Jon. A million times yes.” I said as he slipped the ring on my finger and picked me up and spun me around. When he put me down I looked at him with the biggest smile I had ever seen since I’d met him two years ago. After staring at each other for a couple minutes with huge smiles on our faces Jon leaned in to kiss me and I finished closing the gap as my lips touched his. The kiss quickly deepened. It was full of passion and hunger and before I knew it he had picked me up bridal style and we were headed for the stairs. As we reached the bottom he put me down and took off my shirt and then his shorts came off and by the time we got to the master bedroom we had left a trail of clothes leading to our room.
A few hours later I was lying on Jon’s chiseled, tan, bare chest as I looked down at my ring. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d be marrying Jonathan Toews I thought as I admired it.

-the next day-

*Jon’s POV*

I walked into the arena with a huge smile on my face, a jump in my step, and an amazing feeling of happiness and excitement. Pat and Sharpie were the only ones in the locker room when I walked in and they immediately noticed the difference in me. “Well hello there Mr. Jolly.” said Sharpie as he walked by me. “Hey guys.” I said as I started putting on my equipment for practice. “What’s with you?” inquired Patrick as he laced up his skates. “Oh nothing, I just got engaged yesterday, that’s all.” I said as I pulled on my jersey. The response was a combination of shock, happy, gasps, and then celebration. Sharpie spoke first- “Well it’s about fucking time you asked her to marry you. You put her through enough the last two years.” He said as he came over and gave me a slap on the shoulder. It was followed by the same thing from Pat. “But no one knows yet so you can’t tell anyone. We’re gonna have everyone over for dinner next week at the new house to announce it.” I said grabbing my stick as we walked out of the dressing room. “So has she told the family yet?” Sharpie asked as we all skated out on the ice for warm ups. “Nah she flew out to Boston this morning and I’m flying out tonight after the game.” I answered placing my water bottle in its usual spot. “So they’ll know by the time you get there?” “I’m guessing so but I don’t really know what her plan of telling them is.”
