Without A Goodbye

Chapter 1

His POV

Leaving the apartment complex was harder then expected. Leaving the city was even more harder then expected. Leaving her alone like that though was the most hardest thing to do.
What am I even talking about. This girl I didn’t even know was having such a effect on me. That was just the thing, I didn’t know her but that didn’t stop me from wanting to know her.

“So how was your one night thing?”
“Was that like the first time you have even had a one night thing?”
“Why isn’t he talking?”
“Isnt he meant to be happy after something like that?
“Obviously not.”
I hear the chirping and questions around me as I sit silently in my seat next to Marc-Andre Fleury. The questions are being thrown left right and center.
“Knock it off boys, he doesn’t want to talk I’m assuming.”
Thankfully my goaltenders words keep them quiet for a while longer.
I sit in silence for another half an hour until Marc interrupts me.
“Okay, its been way too long and you have been way too silent. What happened with this girl?”
I didn’t reply. I didn’t even understand what happened with this girl either.
“I don’t know.” I mumble.
“You have to know.” He replies back.
“The brunette one.” I mumble again.
“So that’s the one you left with?”
“Yes, and that’s the one I left alone in a hotel room, without a goodbye and without even telling her my proper name or who I was or where I was going.” I sigh.
“She didn’t know who you were?” Marc asks.
“She had no idea Marc, not one clue. Maybe that’s what I liked so much about her.”
Lie. What I liked so much about her was it looked like she had a story to tell. She looked like she had a history, and the way you saw her wasn’t the way she was. I wasn’t saying she was fake, I was saying that if I stayed for longer, and if I tried to get to know her, my questions would be answered. Nothing was ever that simple, especially not for a person like myself.
“My life is to busy to be worrying about a girl.” I turn to Marc.

“Its okay Sidney.” He replies.

Her POV

“So, how was your night?” Ava winks from across the table.
“Ava, he was great.” I say bluntly.
“That doesn’t sound to great to me.” She replies raising an eyebrow.
“He left me Ava. He left me alone in a hotel room, I didn’t know where I was, I didn’t even know who he was! But he left me there without even a goodbye. I said his name Ava, and he looked straight into my eyes and left. Simple as that. His a jerk.” I hissed.
“Guess what sweetie, you can get any guy you want, so why are you worried about this one man?” She said grabbing my hand.
“He was different in a way. I have no idea how but he was. It was like we came together for the same reason Ava.” I sighed.
“Well, you never know, he might come back?”
“I doubt that.” I roll my eyes.

Thinking of this man just made it hurt even more. I keep reminding myself that I barely knew him. I didn’t know his full name, or where he was from or what he even did for a living. The less I knew about him the more I wanted to know.

“Its okay Tess.” She replies.
