It’s the morning of James’s birthday. James wakes up and finds that Melody is already up. He gets out of bed and goes down stairs. He goes into the kitchen and finds that she is making his favorite breakfast. He wraps his arms around Melody and starts nuzzling and kissing her neck. She turns around and they begin to kiss.

James - You really didn’t have to go to all the trouble for me.
Melody - I know but I wanted to. You deserve it after everything you’ve done for me since our relationship started. I want your birthday to be special.
James - (Smiles) It already is special cuz I’m spending it with my sexy wife.
Melody - Aww, do you really think that about me James?
James - Of course I do. There is no other woman like you. You're nothing short of my everything.
Melody - Aww, that is so sweet.
James - I mean it. Did you need help setting the table?
Melody - That would be great if you did.

James sets the table and lights a couple of candles. Melody goes over to the table to grab the plates and dishes up a full spread of scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon, toast. She goes back over to the table and sits down next to James.

James - Wow, honey you didn’t have to make all this for me.
Melody - I know but I wanted to.

As they’re eating James takes a hold of Melody’s hand and smiles.

James - I love you for who you are as an individual. You being yourself is enough to make me love you more.
Melody - I love you for the man you are and for the way you make me feel. Your smile lights up my world and baby my promise to you is I love you forever. You are the one I want to spent the rest of my life with.

They finish eating and clean up the table. They go over to the couch and start cuddling. Melody lays her head on James’s chest. James wraps his arm around Melody as they begin to kiss.

James - I love you baby.
Melody - I love you too.
James - Thank you for the nice breakfast.
Melody - You’re welcome sweetie.
James - Kind of nice spending time together before the season starts.
Melody - It sure is. (Sighs and starts to cry)
James - Hey, what’s wrong baby?
Melody - Just thinking about how wonderful my life is now. I don’t know where I’d be right now if you never came into my life.
James - Your life probably would be hell if we never met. You’d be raising Deter on your own. I’m glad I got you out of there. I can promise you no one will hurt you again.
Melody - Do you really mean that?
James - Of course I do. I love you and will keep you safe.
Melody - Aww, I love you too and I know you’ll protect me. I’m so grateful to have you in my life.
James - You ok babe?
Melody - I think the morning sickness is starting.
James - Then why don’t you go lay down honey?
Melody - (Starts to cry again) But then I’ll ruin your birthday.
James - (Wipes the tears from Melody’s eyes) Shh, don’t cry sweetie. You’re not going to ruin my birthday if you go take a nap.
Melody - You sure?
James - Of course sweetie. My birthday is already great cuz I’m spending it with you. Cuddling with you on our bed is better then any birthday party.
Melody - Aww, that is so sweet.
James - I mean it babe. I love spending time with you.
Melody - I love spending time with you too. I love you so much James.
James - I love you too Mel. (Smiles) You’re sure snuggling close to me.
Melody - Sorry
James - Nothing to be sorry about babe. I know you don’t feel good. Lets go lay down on our bed.
Melody - Sounds good to me.

James and Melody go upstairs and go into their bedroom. They lay down on the bed. Melody lays her head on James’s chest and goes right to sleep. James smiles as he gives her a kiss and then wraps his arm around her. He’s asleep a short time later till later that night. Melody wakes up and finds James isn’t laying next to her. She gets up and finds him sitting in the rocking chair in the nursery feeding and rocking Deter. She smiles seeing her two favorite guys bonding. James looks up and smiles when he sees Melody standing in the doorway.

James - Didn’t see you standing there.
Melody - You are so good with him.
James - I love him with all of my heart even if he isn’t mine.
Melody - I know you do and it means a lot that you bond with him.
James - I want to be part of his life.
Melody - Maybe it’s time we make him your son.
James - Really?
Melody - I’ve contacted an attorney who deals with adoptions and is willing to help us.

James puts Deter in his crib and then comes over to Melody and wraps his arms around her. As he’s holding Melody he starts to cry.

James - You are such an amazing woman to do this for me.
Melody - I want you to be a part of Deter’s life. You’re being more of a father to him then my ex ever will be.
James - You do?
Melody - Of course I do James. Now how about I make you a nice birthday dinner.
James - You don’t have to do that.
Melody - I know but I want to.
James - (Caresses Melody’s cheek) I love you baby.
Melody - I love you too.

They begin looking into each others eyes and begin kiss. They continue to kiss until Melody goes to make them dinner. James follows her down stairs. He sets the table and lights a couple of candles. A little while later Melody brings dinner over to the table. Melody sits down next to James. As they’re eating James takes a hold of Melody’s hand and tells her how much he loves her. They finish eating, clean up the table, and then James goes over to couch while Melody goes up stairs. A little while later she comes back down stairs in her black silk bathrobe. She goes over to the couch and sits next to James, who is now laying on the couch. James grabs Melody’s arm and pulls her close to him. They begin looking into each others eyes and begin to kiss very passionately. They continue to kiss when James removes Melody’s bathrobe.

James - Damn, you are so sexy baby.
Melody - (Sighs) Oh James do you really think that about me?
James - Of course I do. My heart skips a beat when I’m near you.
Melody - Even with my less then perfect body?
James - Baby, your curves are sexy and you don’t have to have the perfect body for me to love you. You’re sexy just the way you are.
Melody - That’s so sweet and it means a lot that it doesn’t bother you that I’m not a model.
James - You’re prefect just the way you are. I’ve dated the model types and hated being with women who worried about their weight and appearance all the time. Being with you is a breath of fresh air cuz you don’t obsess about that.
Melody - Aww, that is so sweet James.
James - I mean it baby.
Melody - I love you James.
James - I love you too baby.

James then lays on top of Melody. They begin to kiss again and tearing each other clothes off. James starts kissing gently biting Melody’s neck again. She begins to moan when James starts kissing others parts of her body.

Melody - Oh James. Oh god James.
James - Oh Mel. Oh god baby.
Melody - Oh god that feels so good.
James - Oh baby you are so sexy.
Melody - Oh James I want you so bad.
James - Oh Mel baby I want you so bad too.
Melody - Oh yeah right there.
James - Oh baby I love you.
Melody - Oh James I love you too.

The sex continues until Melody orgasms. James gets off of her. Melody lays her head on James’s chest. James smiles when he wraps arms around her.

James - That was so amazing.
Melody - It sure was.
James - I love you so much baby.
Melody - I love you so much too James.
James - Today was so wonderful.
Melody - It sure was.
James - Thank you for making my birthday pretty great.
Melody - You’re welcome sweetie.
James - Lets go to bed honey.
Melody - Sounds go to me.

They get dressed and then go up stairs. They get ready for bed and then lay down on the bed. Melody lays her head on James’s chest and goes right to sleep. James smiles when gives her a kiss and wraps his arm around her. He’s asleep a short time later until the next morning. A week passes and James and Melody meet with their attorney to start the adoption process so that James can adopt Deter and start trying to locate Deter’s biological father.
