Chapter 16 - Deter’s new father
James, Melody, and Deter are at the hospital. They’re in a room waiting for the doctor to come in to do DNA test on the 3 of them. The doctor comes in the room and takes hair, blood, and cheek swab samples from James, Melody, and Deter. A couple hours later the test results come back. The doctor comes back into the room.
Doctor Jade - The test results reveal that you are this little boy’s father James.
James - (Smiles) Wow, that’s wonderful news to hear. I’ve been in this little boy’s life since before he was born. My wife and I had no idea that we made this little boy. We always thought it was her ex that got her pregnant.
Melody - So I guess you don’t need to adopt him now.
James - (Smiles) Nope, I sure don’t.
Doctor Jade - Do you have an OBGYN Melody?
Melody - No, I haven’t had a chance to look since we moved here.
Doctor Jade - Well I’m also one. I can be your doctor through your pregnancy.
Melody - That would be great. I was to the doctor before leaving Pittsburgh when I was 4 weeks along.
Doctor Jade - I want to make an appointment for when you’re at 16 weeks so we can determine the sex of your baby.
Melody - Ok
Doctor Jade - Alright I will see you again at the end of the month.
Melody - Alright, thank you for everything doctor.
James, Melody, and Deter leave the hospital. James and Melody take Deter home so that James’s mom can watch him while they go meet with Avery.
Avery - This is a surprise. I wasn’t expecting to see you guys until the end of the month.
Melody - I know this will come to you as a surprise but we wanted to tell you we don’t want to go any further with the adoption.
Avery - Ok, what changed your mind?
James - We found out this morning that Melody’s ex isn’t the father of Deter.
Avery - What? Then who is?
James - I am
Avery - Wow, I will tell the judge right away.
Melody - We never knew that our couple nights together last summer caused the pregnancy since the symptoms didn’t show up until after Ian raped me.
Avery - I bet you two are very happy with this news.
James - We sure are and thank you for helping us before this news came out.
Avery - You’re welcome
James and Melody shake Avery’s hand and then head home. James decides to take Melody out to lunch. They go home after having some lunch. When they get home they go up stairs and start cuddling on their bed.
James - I love you so much right now.
Melody - I love you too.
James - You ok honey?
Melody - Just a little overwhelmed with everything that has happened the last 24 hours.
James - I know it’s a lot to digest cuz I’m a little overwhelmed too. How about we break in that jetted tub in our bathroom?
Melody - Oh wow that sounds nice.
James - I figured you would like that.
James gets up and goes into their bathroom to set up a romantic bubble bath for he and Melody. A little while later he tells Melody to come in the bathroom. Melody comes into the bathroom and sees the lights dimmed, candles around the tub, and rose petals on the floor and in the tub. They undress and then get in the tub together. James massages Melody’s sore body and then turns on the jets. They sit in the tub for a little while as they cuddle with one another. They get out and dry each other off. They go back into their bedroom and lay down on their bed. They begin looking into each others eyes and begin to kiss. James starts kissing gently biting Melody’s neck. She begins to moan when James starts kissing others parts of her body.
Melody - Oh James. Oh god James.
James - Oh Mel. Oh god baby.
Melody - Oh god that feels so good.
James - Oh baby you are so sexy.
Melody - Oh James I want you so bad.
James - Oh Mel baby I want you so bad too.
Melody - Oh yeah right there.
James - Oh baby I love you.
Melody - Oh James I love you too.
The sex continues until Melody orgasms. James gets off of her. Melody lays her head on James’s chest. James smiles when he wraps arms around her.
James - (Gives Melody a kiss) I love you so much.
Melody - (Sighs) I love you too James.
James - Tonight was pretty wonderful.
Melody - It sure was. Thank you everything tonight.
James - You’re welcome baby.
Melody - Is it ok if I get ready for bed?
James - Sure honey I know you’re tired.
Melody - You’ll stay with me right?
James - Of course I will.
Melody - James?
James - Yeah baby?
Melody - Can you go make me a snack?
James - Sure honey I’ll be right back.
James gets dressed and then goes down stairs. While he’s down stairs Melody gets ready for bed. James comes back a short time later with a chocolate and peanut butter smoothie that has two straws in the glass. He sits on the bed next to Melody and wraps his arm around her as they drink their smoothie. He notices Melody has some smoothie on her lips so he decides to kiss it off with his lips. Melody smiles and sighs. James puts the glass on the nightstand. He lays down when Melody lays her head on James’s chest and goes right to sleep. James wraps his arm around Melody and is asleep a short time later until the next morning. A few days pass and it’s now the first day of training camp. The question is now will James’s new team accept him and how will James and Melody’s friends and family react to the news that James is Deter’s biological father . That’s a story for another day.
