Melody, Leslie, and James’s mom are sitting at the kitchen table planning Melody and James’s wedding that is at the end of the month.

Deborah - I’m so happy my son found a wonderful girl to spend the rest of his life with.
Melody - I love James so much.
Deborah - I can just see how in love the two of you are.
Melody - I hope we’re not rushing into this but James wants to adopt my son.
Deborah - I don’t think you’re rushing into marriage. You two love each other and that’s what matters.
Leslie - That’s right Mel. You and James are prefect for each other and I don’t think anyone is going to object to you guys getting married.
Melody - You guys are right. I shouldn’t care what others think of my relationship with James. Did you guys want to see the dress I have my eyes on?
Deborah - Of course

Melody digs out her tablet and shows Leslie and James’s mom the dress she wants.

Leslie - Wow, that dress is absolutely stunning.
Deborah - My son’s jaw is going drop seeing you in that beautiful dress.
Melody - Did you guys want to go with me when I go try on it on.
Leslie - Sure lets go get it now before someone else buys it.

Melody, Leslie, and James’s mom leave. They head to the bridal store that’s in one of the Pittsburgh mall. Melody sees the dress and asks the sales lady if she can try it on. The sales lady takes one look at Melody and laughs.

Melody - What’s so funny? I want to try on this dress.
Sales lady - You have to be kidding. You’ll never be able to fit in it. You don’t exactly have the prefect body.
Melody - What’s that suppose to mean?
Sales lady - You’re fat
Melody - Ok yes I’m not skinny but I just had a baby a month ago.
Sales lady - And you think you can lose the weight to wear this dress?
Melody - I know it’s in my size cuz I was looking at online. Let me try on this dress before things get ugly.
Sales lady - I don’t sell dresses to fat girls.

Melody leaves the store crying. Leslie and James’s mom see what just happened. Leslie goes to find Melody while James’s mom confronts the sales lady.

Deborah - Why won’t you let my future daughter-in-law try on this dress?
Sales lady - Cuz she’s fat and doesn’t have the body to wear this dress.
Deborah - So just cuz she isn’t a size 0 she doesn’t have the right to get married?
Sales lady - That’s exactly what I’m saying. Who would want to marry a girl who doesn’t have the prefect body?
Deborah - My son that’s who.
Sales lady - Your son must have low standards.
Deborah - My son loves her and doesn’t care that she isn’t skinny cuz that’s how I raised him. If you won’t let her have this dress my son is going to very upset and you don’t want to anger him. You may know him.
Sales lady - Do you think you scare me?
Deborah - My son is James Neal.
Sales lady - Who’s that?
Deborah - Ok apparently you’ve been living under a rock for 3 ½ years. He plays for the Penguins.
Sales lady - I don’t watch hockey and even if I did I still wouldn’t sell you this dress.
Deborah - Fine we’ll take our business else where.

James’s mom leaves the store to find Melody and Leslie. They continue walking the mall until they see a cute wedding dress store. They go in and start looking around. Melody smiles when she sees the exact same dress she was told she couldn’t try on. She asks if she can try it on. She is allowed to try it on. She starts to cry that it fits perfectly. She buys it. Melody, Leslie, and James’s mom leave and head home. Melody goes into the bedroom to hang up the dress so that James doesn’t see it. A few weeks pass and it’s now the morning of the wedding.
