Midnight City (M83)



Cam paced back and forth in his office on his phone. Lena Neely, Cam's little sister and Samantha + Marc's mother, was on the other end of the line.

“I swear I'm better Cam. I want to see my children.” she pleaded.
“I know, Lena. I'm just scared, I don't want them getting hurt again,” he frowned.
She assured “They wont. Look, I get out of rehab on Saturday morning. It'd be really nice to see them again,”
“I'll talk to them, but dont expect them to come running into your arms. Marc's been through hell and back because of you and Michael, and Sammy thinks you don't want her,”

“but I do! It was that bastard of a husband Michael that ruined everything!” Lena cried
“don't bring up Michael to Samantha, she doesnt know the truth,” Cam sighed.
Lena was angered by this, “Cameron! You never told her the truth about him?”
“No,“ he admitted, “I wanted to once she got older, but I couldnt, I would never break her heart like that.”
“You can't lie to her,” Lena scolded.
“You know I love that girl like shes my own daughter, she means the world to me. I just want her to be happy,” He assured.
"Well I hope you know what you're doing,” She huffed.

“Hey there she is,” Milan teased, “I thought it was quiet in here,”
“ha-ha” Sammy rolled her eyes, “i got out of practice early for you, be grateful,”
“Wheres your sidekick?” Johnny asked, “Dougie misses his lady love,”
“shut up,” Dougie groaned
“Gia? shes stuffing her face with chicken wings up in the box,” Sammy laughed.
“awww She came to see ya Doug,” David chuckled.
“Again, shut up,” Dougie blushed.

“aw dougie its okay, she has a crush on you too,” Sammy smirked.
“She does?” his eyes lit up.
They all whistled and hollered.
Sammy waved them off and nodded, “yep, so ask her out already before she dies of heart failure,”
Gia was Sam's bestfriend since kindergarten. Now they both went to BC and played volleyball there. They even shared an apartment.

“I'm gonna go to the box now, good luck,” Sammy smiled.
She gave them all fistbumps abd helmet taps before exiting. On the way out she literally walked into Reilly and fell.
“oops,” she laughed, “sorry,”
“i kinda knocked you to the ground, so its my fault,” he laughed helping her up, "are you okay?”
“yeah.” she nodded, “are you ready for this? youre up with the big club,”
“I'm a little nervous, but once I get out there I'll be fine,“ he shrugged.
“dont worry, you'll do great. Plus Carl and Chris'll have your back,” she smiled.
“Thats comforting,” he breathed. “thanks,”
“Anytime,” she beamed, “good luck and have fun, I'll see you after the game,”

They hugged and she went off on her way again. She got up to the box and was greeted by the girls.
“Sup!” Gia nodded with a mouth full of wings.
Samantha laughed and shook her head, “you're a work of art my friend,”
“we were just talking about going to the mall Friday,“ Steph grinned, “you in?”
She nodded, “Yeah, we dont have a game Friday, right G?”
“Yeah, the game is Saturday night,” Gia assured. “cool, it'll be fun,” Sammy smirked.

They sat and watched the game while chatting away.

The game was amazing. It was intense, but the Bruins dominated the entire time. Tuukka only gave up a single goal in the 2nd, but it was okay because David, Bergy, and Brad all notched some of their own. Reilly didnt score, but he got 2 assists, and he looked great on the PP especially. They trusted him enough to put him on D during the PP too. Marc notched the third assist to David. He seemed a little distracted, but great none the less.

“Theres the hotshot!” Sammy grinned attacking Reilly in a hug, “I saw you out there, taking shots at Bishop,”
He laughed, “well it is my job,” “Just keep it up and one'll go in for sure!“ She clapped, “I'm so proud of you,”
“I did have a pretty good pep talk before I hit the ice,” He smiled.
“Sam, I'm going to the car!” Gia called

“I'll be out in a second G,” Sammy assured.
Gia gave her a smirk before pushing the metal door open and leaving.
“I'll see ya later Rei,” Sammy giggled, “bye,”
“bye,” he hugged her one last time.

She let go and tugged the sleeves of her Soderberg jersey down before making her way towards the door. She opened it, about to slip outside when he stopped her.
“hey sam?” He called She turned, eyeing him curiously,
“yeah?” “you wanna go on a date sometime?“ he asked nonchalantly. She smiled, showing off her perfectly straight teeth,
“yeah, i'd like that,” He smiled softly, “okay. See ya,”
“See ya,” she waved before exiting fully into the night. As soon as the door closed she did a little happy dance. Gia sat in the passenger seat of Sam's Jeep Sahara watching her. She beeped the horn causing Sam to groan and jog through the parking lot. “you look happy,“ Gia rose her eyebrows. “that's because I am,” Sammy giggled.

hey guys! ugh my brothers decided that we should go down the cape at 11pm (we got here at 12am!) so here i am till tomorrow morning. but heres another chapter! thanks for the comments/subs/votes
