It's a Hockey Night in Pittsburgh!

After hearing the news that Wrenn is moving back with me. I couldn’t be even more happy. Wrenn was getting all of her stuff pack I did one thing that I will never do. Clean up the place and get her room ready for her when she comes. I wonder why she made up her mind so quickly. As I sat on my kitchen Island eating a somewhat burned toast. Man I can’t wait till Wrenn is back because I can’t even cook one thing. Not even boiling water without playing a game. It was going to be an easy move for Wrenn since she only took her clothes over to the Kunitz’s home. As I was getting the place ready for Wrenn I was thinking of all of the ideas that made Wrenn change her mind. Then I heard her jeep pulled up.
Getting all of her stuff back into her room. It felt like she never left and things are back to normal. I passed her room and she was playing some kind of song that I like but I don’t know what the song is called. It had a good beat and it will be stuck in my head all day. As I was in the kitchen trying to make dinner even thou I wanted Wrenn to stop me and save the day. When she walked in to the kitchen she was on the phone and had a smile on her face.
“I’m happy for you and now we are back on the same page. You need to come back and see us. James does miss you, he’s been asking about you a lot.” She mouth the word Wade. Yea I do like her brother but it’s kinda weird with the whole situation crap.
“Talk to you later then.” When she hung up the phone, she came into the kitchen and stop me from doing something that I wasn’t even looking.
“James your going to burn your hand if your going to do that. Here let me do this and I have some great news.”
“So there’s more than one great news?” I sat on top of the island.
“Yes Wade and I are now back on the same page and I am going to take over the show with Cookie in the beginning next year.” She smiled. I jump out of the island and pick her up and gave her a hug.
“That’s awesome Wrenn. What made you change your mind about the radio show?”
“Well I heard a lot of things that couple shouldn’t work together or else their marriage or relationship will end up in smokes.” Once she put in the noodles for the dish, now grilling up the chicken. I was watching her like I was on a cooking show. Hearing her humming to the song that I was hearing while she was in the bathroom.
“What’s the song are you humming to ?”
“Oh it’s called Roslyn By Bon Iver and St. Vinncent. It’s one of my favorite, I can listen to this song all day long and never get sick of it.” Wrenn handed me a plate and grab herself one.
“When is Wade coming then?”
“He doesn’t know yet because with the Red Bulls, he said that they are going to be playing in London during chirstmas break. Which is fine with me, but what about you?”
“Me?”
“Yea for the chirstmas break. We have three days off what are you going to do?”
“Go home see the family,brothers and sis. Please don’t tell me that your going to stay here in Pitt because you have no family.”
“Well I was kinda hoping that I get some alone time and get some work done.” I stop her.
“Your not going to spend christmas time by your self. Come with me than.”
“James we are starting over one day at a time.”
“Well how many days till chirstmas?” Wrenn grab her phone and see how many days are left, 14 days and we have a couple of more games before then.”
“I don’t want you to spend it alone when you have me and the team to.”
“Yea I did have to spend time alone on Chirstmas in Philly alone. I was watching The Lord Of The Rings movies.” I do feel sorry for Wrenn from all the crap she been through since joining in the NHL. Anyone shouldn’t go through what she has gone through.
“What would had happen if you would had Claude’s kids?” Watching Wrenn’s face thinking of the right answer to say. Some part of me wish that I didn’t say anything. But since when she told me about having Claude’s kids it just got me to think about it.
“I don’t know really, when I was having his kids all I could think was how the press was going to handle it. How I was going to handle it. New reporter sleeping with one of their top players. People will give me so much shit about this and that my parents weren’t talking to me. I didn’t want Wade to get involved in this either.” I grab her hand and we headed into the living room. Pop in one of her favorite movies which I do to put none of the guys don’t know.
“How did you know that “The Devils Wears Prada” is my go to movie?” She pointed at the TV.
“Just a guess that’s all.” I smirk. It’s been a while since I had Wrenn by my side watching that isn’t about hockey. I like that it’s doesn’t have to be all 24/7 about hockey. She place her hand on to my shoulder I place a kiss on to top of her head.
“Sorry about me asking you about Claude situation. I know it should stay in the past but I was curious.”
“It’s fine I think it’s ok to tell us each other what’s on our mind. Because I know that I trust you and you trust me right?” Wrenn looked back up to me. I nodded my head and both of us were watching the movie. I won’t say this out loud but I really like this movie a lot.
“I hope if you do grown your hair back out it should be the length of Hathaway.”
“Really?”
“Yeah, but what ever you do is sexy too me.” I could feel her smiling. It was close to the end of the movie and I see that Wrenn is already asleep. When you seen the movie a million times it doesn’t matter anymore really. Placing Wrenn in her bed and went back to mine. Tomorrow I have morning stakes and I can’t wait to tell the guys all about this night.

On the way to Consol Engery Center I was thinking of last night. Spending time with Wrenn alone is always a great treat to have. Coming into the dressing room, people did notice the huge smile on my face.
“Guys, Nealer got laid last night!” Beau said out loud.
“Fuck off sunshine and no I didn’t get laid last night. I was just having a nice alone time with Wrenn. It’s been a long time since I had that with her. I don’t have to be laid to be happy.” Brandon came up to me and place his hand on my shoulder.
“I’m happy for you.”
“Thanks, man. How’s Tyler doing?” I have seen in his face that he’s doing ok.
“I’m doing ok. Her friend Jane is going to see her. I was down there to pick her up but she wants to stay down there longer. So I am hoping that Jane will get her mind back to normal. I’m hoping that Wrenn can met Tyler. They will be great friends.”
“Come on guys lets get on to the ice.” Coach yelled at us to get our pads on.

Wrenn
After a great morning show with Cookie, talking about the Steelers and the whole time talking about how the Penguins are going to have a back to back New York Rangers. After the Rangers game it’s going to into the Christmas Break. I thinking of what happen last night that I am going to see James’ family for christmas. So much for taking one step at a time. Tonight it’s home and Saturday night in MSG. Once I got into my car, my phone was ringing. When I went to check who was calling me, my heart was jumping into joy.
“Well hello Wade.” I could hear him laughing.
“Hey Sis how are you?”
“Good, I’m going to get ready for tonight’s game against the Rangers.”
“Yea I saw on the calendar that you guys play them tomorrow night to bad I won’t be there since I will be in London then you guys will be here. But I have some good news."
“Really? I love to hear good news."
“I met someone. I think you will like her.”
“How long have you been seeing her?”
“Just over two months but I think she could be the one.” I was in shock that Wade was acting like this. It’s usually me that’s head over heels with guys but Wade his doing that part right now.
“ Two months and you didn’t tell me on the phone last night! What’s her name?”
“Erica and she’s go down to earth kind of person. She even loves hockey too. I was going to ask her to come with me to London since I will be here till the end of the year but I knew that she wouldn’t because her family and work. I just can’t take her away from her family on Christmas.”
“Now you got my attention on that part. Brothers?Sisters?” I laughed a little.
“Two sisters and brother.” Inside I think I know who it is but I am not going to say anything till I see her myself.
“I got to go and get ready to pack. I will see you soon sis.”
“By Wade."

“5-2!” I was jumping up and down on the way to the dressing room. Crosby did a nice back hand to stun everyone in the crowd. It’s was an amazing this to watch. It’s kinda weird to interviewing the guys when I am dating one of their team mate. Walking close to Sid, he made sure that I got a great spot for me to ask him questions about tonight’s game. After a couple of minutes of asking Sid some questions, my next player was Flower. He was fun to ask him questions about how great he was tonight. Right before I was done with Flower I felt someone poke me on the sides. I knew who it would be and it was James. He knows where my tickle spots are. I turn around and I see him with only a towel wrap around his waist and walked into the shower room. Someone was waving their hand across my face. When I see who it was, it was Jayson. He rolled his eyes and walked back to his stall.

On the train to New York. James and I sat together, I think everyone now knows that James and I are together. If we are both messing up our careers from this then we wouldn’t be together. Somehow we are pulling it through. Once we got to the hotel, all I wanted to do was sleep but I have to send my article to the radio station. I though it was going to take me longer but it didn’t. I really can’t wait to see who this Erica is. I haven’t hear him this happy since getting drafted from the Red Bulls.
“Richy and I are going to have a brunch before the game. Do you want to come? He’s an awesome guy.” Wow James does talk a lot about Brad Richards.
“Sure.”
At brunch I was hoping that we could talk about stuff that was outside of hockey. But as everyone knows that’s hard to do when you have two hockey players and one who loves to talk about the sport. Beside I see picture of James and him around his house. Once we got inside the place, it wasn’t hard to spot Brad.
“So this is the girl that has James wrap around your finger.” Brad gave me a hug. I was kinda speechless at that point. I am with James everyday and the Penguins. But someone outside the penguins, I get star struck.
“So how’s your nieces doing?”
“Good I am going to see my family during the break and the Olympic break. Which I know that your going to be on the team.”
“Well seeing is believing. Am I right Wrenn.” I was looking at the menu when they were talking. I shot my head back to see them both looking at me.
“Sorry I am really hungry.”
“So Wrenn I heard what happen about you and I am glad that you are 100% better now. By the way I heard that your brother plays for the Red Bulls is that right?”
“Yeah he’s in London right now and won’t be back till next year.” During the rest of the time hanging out with Brad I was listening to James talking about his family on how they are doing. It’s just weird to hear about their family member when I have the only family member I have is Wade. I told them that I was going to the restroom. As I sat in the stall. I was trying not to cry. I do miss those big family dinners and just hanging out with my family. But that’s different now. When I check out if I didn’t ruined my make up and I went back out there. There were waiting for me by the door.
“It’s was great to met you Wrenn and good luck with your new job.” I gave him a hug.
“Thanks and good luck for the rest of the season.” We had time left before we had to head back to the hotel to get ready for the game. James and I were holding hands and walking around New York. It’s so amazing to see New York city during Christmas. It’s something in the air when it comes to that time of the year.
