Gongshow

Audrey rubbed her face as she paced. “I don’t want to do this.” She whined.

“Aud, just say it.” Nick chuckled, reaching out to tap her thigh.

“I swore I wouldn’t be this girl but I did it.” She growled.

“Audrey,” He said, grabbing onto her waist to stop her. “Let it out. I won’t judge you.”

She nodded, sitting down beside him. “I am in love with Sam Reinhart.” She laughed. “ And I can’t see you any longer because our entire relationship has been me trying to force myself to forget about him. But it didn’t work.”

“So I was your rebound?” He asked.

She nodded. “Yeah, I’m sorry.” She frowned.

He smiled. “This might make me sound like a dick, but you were mine too.”

She turned to him. “Are you lying to me to make me feel better?” She glared.

“No! I am being completely honest.” He defended.

“Okay, alright. So we both suck.” She sighed.

“But we make a good pair of friends.” He nudged.

Audrey smiled before her phone beeped. She checked and it was a text from Taylor. All it said was a sad face, but Audrey knew what that meant. Taylor had been thinking of breaking up with Jack for a while. Ever since the party, things hadn’t been the same.

Taylor sat in the Tim Hortons she asked Jack to meet her at. It was a terrible place to break up with someone, but she didn’t want to go to either of their houses. He knew what was coming. He took a deep breath while he swung open the door. Now or never.

“Hey.” He smiled as he sat down.

She gave him a small smile. “We need to talk.”

“We really don’t.” He argued. “I know what you’re going to say.”

She frowned. “Jack, I’m sorry. I just don’t feel like our relationship is where it should be anymore. I love you and I care about you but I can’t be with someone that doesn’t trust me.”

“I know. It’s your decision, I won’t fight it.” He nodded before he stood up. “I’m gonna go.”

“You don’t wanna stay for a bit?” She asked.

“I can’t.” He admitted then walked away.

Taylor walked to Audrey’s after that. She walked with tears rolling down her cheeks. She sent her brother a text. He asked if she was okay and she told him she would be eventually. He offered to come home but she told him she was spending the night with the girls. Jacob frowned at that reply. He looked over at all the guys. They were out at Buffalo Wild Wings.

“Does anyone know what happened with my sister and Glover?” He asked, sipping his drink.

“I heard they got into an argument at the team party.” Curtis shrugged.

“And?” Jacob gestured for him to continue. Mark and Morgan exchanged a look. Jacob caught it. “What do you know?”

Mark shook his head at Morgan. Morgan sighed. “We walked out to Taylor on the ground while they were arguing. Like, it looked like she was shoved down.”

“But she said he didn’t touch her.” Mark added. “They were arguing because of when I got wasted and kissed her.”

“That little f,”

“I think she would’ve told you if he hit her, Jacob.” Seth cut him off. “She tells you everything.”

Jacob slammed down a twenty dollar bill and stood up. “Well I’m going to find out.”

Audrey opened the door and Jacob stomped it. “Oh, okay. Come in.”

“Where’s Taylor?” He asked, clenching his fists.

“Upst,”

He ran up the stairs. Audrey followed behind. He walked into Audrey’s room. Taylor looked up from crying into Holiday’s lap. She furrowed her brows at his brother. His whole demeanor changed when he saw her in that state. He sighed, walking over to her. He sat on the edge of the bed and pulled her into a hug. She started to sob again.

“Tay, I know it probably isn’t a good time but I need you to be honest with me.” He spoke softly. She sat up. “I was told that Jack hit you.”

“Jake,”

“And I swear to fucking god, if I find out that little bitch laid a hand on you, I’ll honestly kill him. I will go away for murder if that cabbage patch bitch harmed you in any way. Even if he was emotionally abusive, I’ll fucking murder him. I’ll slaughter him. I wi,”

“Jacob, shut up!” She hollered. “He never hit me. I would’ve told you.”

“Promise me, if any fuck boy ever hurts you, you tell me right away.” He breathed, hugging her.

“Of course.” She assured him.

“And then me.” Audrey piped up. “I’ll help Jacob kill him.”

“Tag team.” Jacob smiled.

Taylor giggled. “I’ll let you girls know right after I tell Jacob.”

“Deal.” Dani agreed.

“I want you to stay away from Jack for a bit.” He told her.

“Jacob, we broke up. I’m away from him forever.” She frowned.

“Don’t be so sad. You still have me and all your friends.” He kissed the top of her head.

“I’m not sad, just a little upset.” She smiled.
