The Wall

Hadlee spun around and threw her arms around Kevan. She pulled his face down and kissed him. The entire room started laughing. Kevan noticed that Tyler had his head cocked sideways and was looking at the angel wing cut outs. "Damn" said Tyler in appreciative voice. Hadlee turned back to Tyler and laughed. She bounced from person to person hugging Caroline, Dougie, Kayleigh, and Brad. Kevan started laughing when Tyler asked if they got a hug. Hadlee was staying very close to Kevan. He pushed her towards Tyler. Tyler hugged her and swung her around. A PA came into the room and told them that Tyler Farr would take the stage in 20 and that they had a little over an hour until time to go.

"So how does SEC royalty ended up in Boston datin' a hockey player?" asked Brian Kelley. "Do you recognize her yet Ty?"

Tyler knew she was hot. He also knew that she had cheered for the University of Kentucky. Tyler shook his head. BK laughed. "Remember that girls of the SEC calendar that used to hang in our apartment? I'm pretty sure Miss Hadlee here was in it. And if I am not mistaken she had 3 brothers who played football at Alabama, Tennessee, and Kentucky."

Hadlee was about to answer BK when all 3 of her brothers stepped out. Hadlee launched herself at West. He caught her and started laughing. "I didn't forget about you." He passed her to Ash and finally to Court. Hadlee was beside herself. She had her Kevan, her brothers, and Florida Georgia Line all in one room.

"Those are damn big boys" said Hamilton looking at her brothers. At 6'5 and 215 lbs not many people impressed Dougie. Court shook hands with the boys and made introductions. West kept eyeballing Marchand. Hadlee smacked him "No big bad Kentucky State Trooper tonight." West smiled and laughed.

"So you and the blonde hulk are twins" asked Marchand. Kayleigh had stepped in front of him. Like 5ft of fluff could protect him from West.

"I'm not gonna hurt him, Bibbiddi" said West with a wink "unless you need me too." Kayleigh laughed and hugged all the boys including Court. Caroline hugged the brothers as well. The boys explained that they were heading to Hadlee's and would meet up with them after the concert.

"Wait where are y'all gonna sleep." asked Hadlee. Court kissed the top of her head. "I'm gonna crash on the couch, Ash is gonna sleep in your room, and West can crash with Caroline." Dougie straighten up to his full height when Court mentioned Caroline crashing with West. "Or not" laughed Court. Her brother's disappeared out the door and were gone.

"What song do you want us to play for you" asked Tyler of Hadlee. She thought about it for a few seconds.

"You can't play the one I want to hear" she said. BK told her they could play anything. "Nope, I want to hear you all do Burnin' It Down. Aldean might not like you stealing the tour headline song." Tyler and BK both laughed.

"We'll deal with Aldean" said Tyler "Anything else?"

"If I Die Tomorrow" she replied.

"You got it, baby" said Tyler. Hadlee was standing there watching as they prepared for the concert. She knew they would have to get to their seats soon. Her eyes hadn't left Tyler. Kevan didn't know if he should laugh or throw her over his shoulder. Tyler smirked at him. Brad handed each of the guys a Boston Bruins Jersey with their names and 14 on them. They promised to wear them when they did Cruise. The boys led the girls out the door to the main floor of the arena. They were in a VIP section of the pit near the stage. They were standing beside the stage waiting for Tyler Farr to perform. Hadlee was almost bouncing in front of him. She turned to face him.

"Happy Birthday, Babe" Kevan said looking down at her. She motioned for him to lean down. She whispered in his ear "Thanks for the gym, FGL, and my brothers. You knew where Wes was." Kevan explained that West told him she would be suspicious of him not calling. "He's right" she said. Hadlee kissed Kevan. The lights dimmed and flashed as Tyler Farr took the stage. The girls were singing along with a song about a hot mess. The song sounded a lot likely Hadlee he thought. The girls were bouncing and singing along with all the songs. Hadlee had told him that he would likely only sing 6 songs. Hadlee had been correct. A random DJ came out to play music while the stage was set for Florida Georgia Line. Hadlee was a ball of energy. She was dancing along to some song that was playing over the PA.

Kayleigh and Marchand appeared to be having a good time. Kayleigh kept laughing at Brad. She was clearly not impressed that most of Brad's music was rap. He was vowing to learn country if it makes her happy. The current song playing on the PA was something about the bed of a Chevy. Brad offered to buy moonshine, a truck, hell a farm if it made Kayleigh happy. All three girls were laughing and talking.

Caroline was standing flush up against Dougie. He had put an arm around her waist. He was swaying with Caroline to the beat of the music pumping through the Garden. He liked holding her, kissing her, hell he just liked being around her. Caroline was excited about seeing FGL and Jason Aldean. She had thanked him twice for being her date. Dougie leaned down so he was able to hear Caroline. "Do you want to come home with me tonight or go home with West?" he asked. She didn't answer him right away. "What do you want?" she asked him.

"I would much prefer to snuggle with you in my bed." he replied. Caroline used one arm to pull his head closer to her. She kissed him over her shoulder. "Okay, but I am just snuggling with you." Dougie laughed "Snuggling it is. No tickling" he warned. Caroline kissed him quickly "No promises."

Hadlee was jumping up and down before the words of the first song began. She and the girls were singing along. She was so happy. Kevan hoped she enjoyed the party after they left. They had rented out an entire section of their favorite club. Most of the Bruins and all of Hadlee's Boston friends would be there. They launched into "Tell Me How You Like It" and Hadlee was dancing up against him. Kevan pulled her flush up against him. Tyler and BK talked with the crowd for a while. Then started in a new song. Tyler asked the audience to help them sing Happy Birthday to a special guest. The giant screen flashed to Hadlee in Kevan's arms. Tyler then sang Happy Birthday to Hadlee. He then pointed out that in case they hadn't noticed that there were three of Boston's own Bruins right there tonight. BK then pointed out that these hockey boys seemed to racking up hot girls. Not one, not two, but three SEC cheerleaders. The guys laughed and waved at the camera. The crowd screamed for the guys. Hadlee laughed. Tyler and BK launched into "If I Die Tomorrow". Kevan leaned over and kissed Hadlee. She couldn't stop smiling. FGL left the stage and the lights went down. The entire arena was chanting Cruise. The stage lights came back up and FGL came back on stage. Tyler and BK were both wearing their new Bruins jerseys. Tyler came up to the edge of the stage and asked Hadlee what she thought. She laughed and gave him a thumbs up. Cruise was deafening in the arena as the crowd sang along. Kevan actually knew the words to this song and was singing along with Hadlee. As the boys exited the stage BK tossed his ball cap at Caroline and Kayleigh. Dougie caught it and handed it Caroline. She smiled at him "I'm still kind of liking this personal d-man thing. You are good at keeping things from hitting me." Dougie smirked at her "I'm good at lots of things." She had both hands clutching the ball cap. Dougie captured her mouth with his.

Jason Aldean took the stage and played his set. Hadlee liked him but really loved FGL. Kevan recognized the several of the songs that Jason Aldean did. Hadlee was dancing and grinding up against him. Jason Aldean wished her a Happy Birthday. He got the guys from Florida Georgia Line out on the stage. He told the crowd he was granting the birthday girls wish. He and the boys from FGL played the song "Burnin' It Down" together. Kevan put Hadlee up on his shoulders so she could get a better vantage point of her boys and Jason Aldean. Brad and Dougie followed suit. Tyler came over to the edge of the stage and was singing to Hadlee. Kevan couldn't help but laugh at Hadlee.

The concert let out in a crush of people. Kevan and the boys led the girls out into the players lot to a waiting car. The girls climbed into the car followed by the boys. The girls were discussing the concert. Brad admitted it wasn't that bad. Kayleigh smacked at him. He told her he was still buying a truck for her. Kayleigh told him there wasn't much use for one in Boston. Hadlee laughed when Brad told her they would use it in Nova Scotia. The girls decided that they didn't want to change and just wanted to go straight to the last part of Hadlee's surprise.

They pulled into one of the clubs frequented by the Bruins. The VIP doorman opened the car door Dougie climbed out and helped Caroline, Kayleigh, and Hadlee out of the car. Kevan spoke briefly with the door guy. Hadlee noticed that all the marquees had a sign that said private party. They were all banded with bright neon pink bands. Once inside the bar Hadlee turned in a complete circle the entire VIP area was decked out in UK blue and white balloons. Hadlee was several of her friends from the law firm, Kayleigh's staff from the bakery, friends of Caroline's from work, and the majority of the Bruins and their significant others. Hadlee beamed at Kevan as he caught her mid jump. She kissed him and thanked him for the party. Kevan told her that Marchy had a lot to do with the party. Kevan sat her on her feet and she kissed Brad. Her brothers had managed to find her in the crush of people welcoming them.
"Your boyfriend showing off" joked Ash. Hadlee swatted at him. He held out a small wrapped box. Hadlee knew what was inside it before she opened. She opened the box and held up the little hockey stick charm for her bracelet. Hadlee hugged him and thanked him. West made a scoffing noise.

"What?" asked Hadlee

"Where the hell did you get that shirt?" asked West. Caroline snickered. She explained to West that he should do his own birthday shopping. "Damn it Caroline you told me it was a vintage Guns N Roses shirt." Caroline laughed so hard she snorted "It is." West just shook his head. He kissed Hadlee and Caroline and informed them he was heading to the bar. Court was standing back watching Brad and Kayleigh. He wasn't saying anything just watching. Hadlee went over and threw her arms around him. "Happy Birthday Brat" he said looking at Hadlee. His eyes never left Kayleigh. "She's happy" replied Hadlee. Court held out his hand and dropped a pair of earrings in her hand. They were .40 Smith and Wesson bullet primers with Swarvorski crystals in the center. Hadlee hugged him and thanked him. Court was still looking at Kayleigh while nursing his beer. "If I bug out it's nothing to do with you Hadlee." he stated "I don't know if I can watch that but I know it would be worse to stop it." Hadlee hugged him tighter.

"Hadlee Belle" yelled Brad "It's your birthday!!! Shots, shots, shots."

"No" said Hadlee "We are not doing shots, shots, shots. I want to remember this."

"Hadlee" whined Brad pouring Fireball whiskey into shot glasses. Hadlee, Kayleigh, Caroline, Dougie, and several other Bruins all lined up to shoot the cinnamon whiskey. They did several more shots. Hadlee was feeling the slow burn of the whiskey. Caroline demanded they all go dance. Hadlee waved at Brittany and Looch. She smiled at the majority of the Bruins. She snaked a hand out and grabbed Rask as they headed to the floor. Tuukka laughed and joined the girls. Brad and Dougie ended up in the middle of the crush as well. Several other players and girls were on the floor. They were all dancing to Bang Bang. Hadlee smiled and waved at Kevan. He nodded at her and tipped his beer at her. She and Kayleigh were both grinding on Marchy. After a few more songs they went back up to the platform. Kayleigh drained a bottle of water while sitting in Kevan's lap. Kevan was rubbing her back. Looking at her shirt he understood the line in the about slipping a finger in the tear of t-shirt stirring up dirty. Hadlee kissed him and was interrupted by Krejci and his wife. They wished her a happy birthday. They introduced her to a younger boy she had not met yet. Kevan explained that David Pastrnak was a rookie from Czech. He explained he was trying to make the big team at age 18.

Caroline, Kayleigh, Brad, and Dougie came up as Kevan was giving introductions. Kevan was explaining that Pastrnak played a lot like Krejci. Which in turned caused the young boy to smile.

"Hey Rook" said Brad handing him a shot along with everyone else " What's up?" Pastrnak looked at the tiny glass then at Kevan. Kevan laughed and told him the club was closed to the public and all media. Brad laughed "You'll be fine."

"Bottoms up Baby K" said Caroline clinking his glass. Dougie laughed. They all downed the shots of whiskey.

"Baby K" asked Dougie. Hadlee looked at Caroline then smiled.

"Y'all said he is like Krecji" she shrugged "Baby K makes sense."

The rookie looked confused but he didn't seem to mind the girls calling him Baby K. Kevan clapped the kid on his shoulder "Bad news rook, I think they have adopted you and nicknamed you." He looked at Kevan oddly. Krejci spoke with the kid. He just smiled back at Krecji. The new Taylor Swift song poured out of the club speakers. Hadlee and Caroline grabbed Pastrnak by both hands "Come on Baby K time to dance." Kevan just tipped his beer at the kid and smiled. Hadlee grabbed Brittany Lucic on their way to the floor.

"Think we should save the kid" asked Looch watching all 3 of the girls gyrate around the rookie
"Nah" said Campbell "Kids having the time of his life. Holy fuck Kevan." Hadlee was rolling her body against Pastrnak.
"I know but he is still a better pet hockey player than the Squirrel" laughed McQuaid. Kevan nodded at McQuaid.
"What the fuck guys" said Marchand "You're supposed to be my boys."

They all laughed. Marchand threw back the rest of his drink and waded onto the floor with Kayleigh. Kevan was laughing as Hadlee and Caroline were currently ruffling Pastrnak's hair on the floor. Reilly Smith had joined the group "Maybe I should tell them I don't speak English and I'm a rookie."

"Good luck with that" replied Kevan. He noticed that Dougie had managed to pull Caroline off the rookie and was now dancing with her.

Hadlee kissed David on the cheek "Thanks Baby K" she said as she flopped down in Kevan's lap. Her gaze followed Britt's. Britt was looking at her brothers. Looch's gaze followed hers.

"Those are my brothers" explained Hadlee. Britt was still looking at the 3 good looking blondes huddled up.

"I thought maybe we had kidnapped part of Team Sweden." laughed Britt. Milan leaned over and kissed the back of her neck. "I guess it's a good thing you dig dark haired men or I'd be in trouble." She just laughed and turned in his arms.
Hadlee sat snuggled up in Kevan's lap with a decent buzz. The lights came on in the VIP section and Kayleigh brought out a birthday cake. Hadlee laughed at the candles on the cake they were UK. The team and the guests sang Happy Birthday again. She blew out the candles. There were more shots, beers, and cake. Hadlee was back in Kevan's lap kissing him slowly. Some of the people went out to the dance floor, more drinks to be had, and finally closing time. Marchy who generally closed the bars down told Kevan Kayleigh was tired and they were heading out. More of the team filtered out. Caroline kissed Hadlee and hugged Kevan. Caroline threw the apartment key at Hadlee's brothers. West yelled at her "I thought we were gonna snuggle." She laughed and nodded at Dougie " He's kind of my chief cuddle buddy." West acted liked he was wounded. She laughed and walked out with Dougie.
Hadlee's brothers all came over and shook hands with Kevan. West clapped him on the back. "I guess I'm fucking stuck with you." said West. Hadlee smiled at him and Kevan "Be nice" she admonished West.
"As long as you are happy, Boo" said West kissing his twin on the forehead "Brunch tomorrow before we head out?"
"Of course" said Hadlee kissing Court and Ash. They all walked out the door together. Her brothers got into a cab and they climbed back into the car that had brought them.
Hadlee climbed into Kevan's lap and straddled him as soon as the car started to roll. She kissed him until she was breathless. She then snuggled into his shoulder. Kevan could feel her heart beating against his and her breath on his neck. Their bodies seemed to be in sync with one another. He looked down at Hadlee who had fallen asleep on his chest. "Happy birthday baby. I love you Hadlee Belle." Now if he could only man up and tell her when she was awake.
