It’s the second week in May which means it’s finals week. Melody is laying on her bed with all her textbooks and notebooks study for her finals. Her cell phone rings.

Leslie - Hey, how goes the studying?
Melody - It’s going ok.
Leslie - Aww, you sound stressed hon.
Melody - I am a little.
Leslie - You should make yourself some cocoa or something to help de-stress.
Melody - That sounds like a great idea. I think when I’m done on Friday I need a vacation.
Leslie - Where is that boyfriend of yours? He should be there helping you stay calm.
Melody - I haven’t seen him in weeks. I’m beginning to think he’s not worth it anymore. I want a boyfriend who’s always around and will coming running when I need something.
Leslie - I see no problem with you hooking up with a hot guy if you decide to go on a vacation.
Melody - I don’t either since Ian doesn’t touch me anymore.
Leslie - You should leave him before something happens.
Melody - I know I should.
Leslie - I’m going to go so you can finish studying.
Melody - Ok, I’ll call you on Friday when I’m done.
Leslie - Ok, good luck Mel.

The girls hang up. Melody gets up from her bed and goes into her kitchen. She makes herself something to eat. She curls up on the couch and eats her dinner. She finishes her dinner and then goes back to laying on her bed and studies a little more before she falls asleep. She wakes up early the next morning to fix herself some breakfast before she goes to take her two finals for the day. She eats her breakfast and then gets dressed. She heads to campus and is there all day taking her two finals. She comes home and lays down on her bed. She takes a nap for a couple hours when her cell phone rings.

Kaylee - Hey, girl you busy?
Melody - I was just taking a nap after taking my finals.
Kaylee - Yeah me too. Did you want to go grab something to eat?
Melody - Sure, I need to get out of my apartment.
Kaylee - Alright, did you want to meet at the soup and sandwich place that is right by your place?
Melody - Sure that sounds fine.
Kaylee - Ok, I will see you later.

They hang up. Melody does up her hair, grabs her phone and keys, and then leaves for the evening. She spots Kaylee at a table and sits down. They order some soup and as they’re waiting the begin to talk.

Melody - Thank you for inviting me. It’s nice to take a break from studying.
Kaylee - No problem Mel. You deserve a break. (Sees Ian kissing a blonde) That disgusting pig.
Melody - What?
Kaylee - Your so called boyfriend is kissing another girl.
Melody - Oh how dare he. That’s it when I leave town I’m going to give him a taste of his own medicine.
Kaylee - What are you going to do?
Melody - Tell him to meet me in St Lucia and then I’ll kiss someone else and see how he likes it.
Kaylee - It’s only fair. I know just the guy.
Melody - Who?
Kaylee - Ever hear of James Neal?
Melody - Oh my god yes. I have a crush on him.
Kaylee - Oh wow you do?
Melody - Yes big time.
Kaylee - (Sees Ian coming over to their table) Oh look here comes that pig.
Ian - Hey babe why don’t you come over tonight?
Melody - You have some nerve asking me over when you were kissing Bethany.
Ian - Geez, what’s your problem?
Melody - What’s my problem? You were kissing another girl while you’re dating me. Makes me wonder if we should stay together.
Ian - You wouldn’t dare.
Melody - And why shouldn’t I? You don’t touch me anymore and you’re never around when I need you.
Ian - Can you blame me? You’re not hot anymore. All you want to do is study.
Melody - Yeah cuz I want to graduate this summer so I can get out of here.
Ian - And that’s the problem. You’re a girl. You should be at home barefoot and pregnant and serving me. Beth at least is smoking hot and doesn’t care about her education.
Melody - Well I care cuz I want a good job and maybe a man who actually cares about me. After I’m done with my finals on Friday I’m leaving town and I want you to come with me.
Ian - Fine I’ll come but don’t expect me to spend time with you.
Melody - I don’t expect you to.

Ian leaves in a huff while the girls eat their soup. They pay for their dinner and go their separate ways. Melody finishes all her finals. She lays on her bed and calls Leslie.

Leslie - You sound mad. What’s wrong?
Melody - You know my friend Kaylee right?
Leslie - Sure I do. She’s your friend from France.
Melody - Well we went out to dinner the other night and saw Ian kissing another girl.
Leslie - That guy is a pig.
Melody - I know he is and I’m going to give him a taste of his own medicine.
Leslie - Wow you go girl.
Melody - I’m done playing his game. He told me I shouldn’t be in school. He said I should be barefoot and pregnant serving him.
Leslie - That’s disgusting
Melody - I know it is.
Leslie - I wouldn’t blame you if you hooked up with some hot guy and had sex with him. So when are you leaving?
Melody - Next month sometime. Before summer classes start.
Leslie - Well I hope there’s a guy out there who will treat you like a queen.
Melody - Me too.

The girls hang up. Melody heads to bed. She’s asleep the minute her head hits her pillow. A month passes. She’s in St Lucia for a much deserved vacation.
