Elyse and Melody are at the hospital to find out what’s wrong with Melody. Melody becomes scared again like she was a few weeks ago. Elyse tries to comfort her.

Elyse - It’s going to be ok.
Melody - What if I’m pregnant? Then what am I going to do?
Elyse - If you’re pregnant we will get through it. I promise you everything will be ok.
Melody - You promise?
Elyse - Of course I do.

Just then the doctor comes in the room and performs a pregnancy test on Melody. A little while later the results reveal that Melody is pregnant. Elyse and Melody head home. Melody goes to lay down on her bed. Instead of sleeping she lays on the bed starts crying. Elyse calls Christian to see if he can help her reassure Melody that she’s going to be ok. He comes over a short time later. Elyse tells him she’s in the guest room and tells him to be very gentle with her as she is still very scared to have anyone touch her. He goes into the guest room and sits on the bed beside her.

Christian - Mel? You ok?
Melody - (Turns over and sees Christian sitting next to her) What are you doing here?
Christian - Your sister called me to help her help you recover from what happened to you.
Melody - That’s really sweet of you two wanting to help me.
Christian - I would do anything for you Mel. I hate what your boyfriend has done to you.
Melody - You still care about me?
Christian - Of course I do. I told your sister that I still love you but I know trying to get you back would be a mistake after what happened.
Melody - I still love you too but I can’t even think about dating right now.
Christian - I understand and I’m not going pressure you into dating me. I know one day you’ll start dating again and I hope you find a guy who will respect you and treat you like his queen.
Melody - Thank you for understanding.
Christian - Ian doesn’t deserve you. When you head back to the states please break up with him before he hurts you again.
Melody - I’m going to after what I found out at the doctor.
Christian - Why? What’s wrong?
Melody - I’m pregnant with his baby (Starts to cry again)
Christian - (Wipes the tears from her eyes) Shh, don’t cry Mel. Your sister and I will make sure you’re safe. You should stay here for a few months. I don’t think going back to Raleigh is going be a good idea right now and if you do maybe you should find a different place to live.
Melody - I know and you’re right. I won’t feel safe being in that apartment after what happened to me there. Is it normal for a rape victim to not remember anything?
Christian - What are you having trouble remembering?
Melody - Everything that happened before Ian raped me.
Christian - I’m sure it’s just cuz you haven’t slept very good the past few weeks.
Melody - You’re right I need to sleep. Maybe it’s time to see if I can sleep with someone next to me.
Christian - I can stay if you want me to. I promise I won’t touch you since I know you’re still scared to have someone touch you.
Melody - I would like that.

Melody rolls back over and goes back to sleep. Hoping this time she can stay asleep. Christian covers her with her blanket. He closes his eyes and is asleep a short time later. For the first time since being raped Melody doesn’t wake up in fear. Maybe she’s slowly starting recover cuz before she would have woken up terrified. She wakes up later that night and goes into the kitchen to make herself something to eat. Elyse comes into the kitchen to see if her sister is ok.

Elyse - You sleep ok sweetie?
Melody - I didn’t wake up in fear this time.
Elyse - Well that’s a step in the right direction. I’m sure you’re a long ways away from cuddling with someone.
Melody - I don’t want anyone touching me yet.
Elyse - You’ll find a sweet boy who will be gentle with you.
Melody - It might be awhile before I warm up to anyone.
Elyse - Aww, and when you do you will be loved like you should be loved.
Melody - That would be nice not being abused like I was.
Elyse - Are you feeling ok?
Melody - My head is in kind of a fog. I don’t know if that’s normal.
Elyse - I’m sure it is with all the drugs you’re on.
Melody - Sadly I don’t remember anything before that night and it’s making me sad.
Elyse - Is there something you’re trying to remember?
Melody - Yes
Elyse - What is it? Maybe I can help.
Melody - I had a dream when I was sleeping about this hot guy with dark hair, blue eyes, and tattoos. I have no idea what this means.
Elyse - (Smiles) Oh I know who you were dreaming about.
Melody - Who? Cuz it’s driving me crazy.
Elyse - You were dreaming about a guy you met in St Lucia named James. He plays hockey for the Penguins.
Melody - I’ll take your word for it.
Elyse - Wow, those drugs really have messed with your head to not remember James.
Melody - I’m trying to remember things that happened before being attacked but I can’t.
Elyse - Aww, it’s ok don’t force your memories to come back. Nice to see you fixing yourself something to eat.
Melody - Trying to get my life back to somewhat normal.
Elyse - A piece of chicken and a smoothie. Yup you’re starting to feel better.
Melody - I thought real food would make me feel better.
Elyse - Plus it’s good for your baby.
Melody - I guess so.

Melody goes over to the table to eat her dinner. Christian then comes over with a friend of his who is visiting for a couple days. Melody finish her dinner and then goes back to bed. Elyse smiles when she sees Christian brought James over.

Elyse - My sister will be happy to see you James if she could remember you.
James - The drugs taking a toll on her?
Elyse - A little bit. Her head is in a severe fog and doesn’t remember her life before that night.
James - So she doesn’t remember our time together in St Lucia?
Elyse - I’m afraid not and don’t try and force her to remember.
James - Don’t worry I won’t. I know she’s been through a lot. Can I go talk to her?
Elyse - Go ahead but don’t touch her. She’s still scared to be touched.
James - Ok, I won’t
Elyse - And be gentle with her.

Elyse tells James she’s sleeping in the guest room. James sits on the bed next to Melody. She wakes up when she feels James sitting next to her. Not sure how she’ll react to seeing James she turns over and looks at him. She smiles cuz she is starting to sort of remember James.

James - Hey, how you doing Mel?
Melody - I’m ok.
James - Do you remember me at all?
Melody - Sort of
James - It’s ok. I won’t force you to remember.
Melody - I have to ask why do you care about me so much?
James - It’s not important right now. I just want you to feel better.
Melody - Aww, that’s really sweet.
James - I mean it.
Melody - I really should get some sleep.
James - Then I will just go.
Melody - No, please stay. Please?
James - Are you sure?
Melody - Yes, I want you to stay with me.
James - (Smiles) Well ok then I will stay.

Melody knows she shouldn’t but she has to know if she is over her fear of being touched. She takes a deep breath and snuggles up to James. She goes right to sleep. James wraps his arm around Melody and goes right to sleep. A little while later Elyse comes to check on Melody. She pokes her head into Melody’s room and sees her sister and James sweetly cuddling. She smiles seeing her sister not being terrified by James having his arm around her. Elyse goes into her room and goes asleep till the next morning. Melody stays in Montreal until the first part of September when she returns to Raleigh and finds a new safer apartment to live in.
