Chapter 8 - Moving Day
Melody is back in Raleigh. Leslie has come down to help Melody pack of her stuff since Melody doesn’t have a car right now.
Leslie - So glad you found a different place to live.
Melody - I can’t stay in a place where I don’t feel safe.
Leslie - I don’t blame you hon. I’m happy to see you back to normal.
Melody - Slowly but surely I’m getting my life back and maybe start dating again.
Leslie - That’s great to hear. I hope you find the right guy this time.
Melody - I’m not in a big hurry to start dating. I’m just going to let it happen. Right now I don’t need a guy in my life to be happy.
Leslie - That’s smart thinking and I know there is a guy out there who won’t hurt you.
Melody - I know he’s out there somewhere.
Leslie - Ready take a load of stuff to your new place?
Melody - You bet I am. We should be able to get the rest of it in two more loads.
Melody and Leslie take the first load of stuff over to her new apartment. They spend the next couple hours taking the rest of Melody’s stuff over to her new apartment. Melody decides to take Leslie out to dinner to thank her for helping with the move. They go to a restaurant that is right down the street from Melody’s new apartment. They find a table and order food.
Leslie - You really didn’t have to take me out to dinner.
Melody - I know but I wanted to thank you for supporting me through my rough period in my life and helping me move today.
Leslie - That’s what friends are for. You would be the same for me if it had been me.
Melody - Of course I would.
Leslie - You look tired hon.
Melody - I should get use to it.
Leslie - What’s wrong?
Melody - I’m pregnant
Leslie - Are you going to keep the baby?
Melody - I think so since it’s not his or her’s fault they were created the way they were.
Leslie - Are you going to tell Ian that he got you pregnant?
Melody - I’ll tell him but I’m not going expect him to help with this baby cuz I know he won’t care.
Leslie - And your baby deserves a good life.
Melody - I know they do even though he or she won’t have a father in their life.
Leslie - I don’t blame you for not wanting Ian in your baby’s life.
Melody - I’m just worried that if I start dating again being pregnant is going to scare guys off.
Leslie - Aww, there’s a guy out there somewhere who won’t care that you’re pregnant. I believe that.
Melody - I hope you’re right.
Leslie - I know I’m right.
Melody - Will you stay with me tonight just to make sure everything is safe with my new place?
Leslie - Of course I will.
Melody - Thank you
Leslie - It’s no problem hon.
Their food arrives. They eat and talk some more. Melody pays for dinner. They head back to Melody’s apartment. Melody asks Leslie if she’ll help blow up the blow up beds. The girls blow up the beds and put bedding on both beds. Melody heads to bed. She lays down on the bed and covers herself with her leopard print blanket and is asleep a short time later. Leslie comes to check on her a little while later just to make sure she’s ok. She sees that Melody is ok so she goes to bed. The next morning Melody wakes up and goes into the kitchen to find Leslie making breakfast for the two of them. Leslie tells Melody to set the table. Leslie dish up breakfast for the two of them. They start talking while they eat.
Melody - I had a pretty strange dream last night.
Leslie - About what?
Melody - I was having a dream about having sex with a guy who’s face I couldn’t see but he dark hair and tattoos.
Leslie - Maybe this guy in your dream is the guy you need in your life.
Melody - So you’re saying it’s a sign of some sort?
Leslie - It could be.
Melody - Maybe one day I’ll find out who this mystery guy is.
Leslie - Aww, I know you will. Well I should be heading back north.
Melody - Alright, thanks for helping me out yesterday.
Leslie - It’s no problem. You take care of yourself, ok?
Melody - Don’t worry I will.
Leslie - Call me anytime you need something.
Melody - I will
Leslie leaves while Melody picks up the table. She starts unpacking and starts making her apartment feel more like home. A few weeks pass. Melody’s sister is visiting from Montreal.

hahahaha cya ian!! talk to ya never!!! i just hope kaylee realizes that shes making a huge mistake too and dumps him and i hope her and mel can be friends again and them rub it in ians face!!!!!!!! and also melody should defend james after all shes been through hes been nothing but sweet to her and im sure hell be happy to know that shes in his corner :)
