Angelia

Act 1: Scene 1

Setting: Angelia’s Living Room
ANGELIA BELESKEY is sitting on her coach. She is watching high-lights from the past NHL season. She is watching Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews goals. She is excited.

Suddenly she freezes in place and turns to gaze down stage.

ANGELIA
When is this stupid off-season over? I miss all my boys!

She gets up from her couch and wanders around to her wall. She gestures to the first poster of one of her favorite hockey teams on the wall.

ANGELIA
I miss my Anaheim Ducks….

She moves and gestures to another poster.

ANGELIA
And my beloved Boston Bruins, strong and tough!

She moves again and gestures to the third poster.

ANGELIA
Even my precious Dallas Stars, with their proud rising stars and the blue-eyed Russian, Valeri Nichushkin!

She sighs and turns to the last poster on the wall.

ANGELIA
But most of all, I miss my stellar Hawks! My Chicago Blackhawks, with all their sexy, hot, young forwards!

She moves to the other side of the poster and heaves another heavy sigh.

ANGELIA
Winter came and left without a warning
All at once I looked and you were gone
And now you're looking back at me
Searching for a way that we can be,
Like we were before.

Now I'm back to what I knew before you
Somehow the city doesn't look the same
I'd give my life for one more night
Of having you here to hold me tight; oh, please
Take me there again
Oh, oh

And I remember how you loved me
Time was all we had until the day we said goodbye
I remember every moment
Of those endless winter nights

I still recall the walks along the beaches
And the way your hair would glisten in the sun
Rising in the afternoon
Making love to you under the moon,
Oh, oh

Do you remember all the nights we spent in silence
Every single breath you took was mine
We can have it all again
Say that you'll be with me
When the sun brings your heart to mine
Oh, oh

And I remember how you loved me
Time was all we had until the day we said goodbye
I remember every moment
Of those endless winter nights

(She jumps onto her couch.)

There's only so much I can say
So please don't run away
From what we have together
It's only you and me tonight
So let's stay lost in flight
Oh, won't you please surrender
Oh yeah!

(She dances around her room.)

And I remember how you loved me
Time was all we had until the day we said goodbye
I remember every moment
Of those endless winter nights
Oh I remember!

And I remember how you loved me
Time was all we had until the day we said goodbye
I remember every moment
Of those endless winter nights

She drops back onto the couch, sighing heavily once again. She taps through her iPad, looking for more videos, rather passively and half-heartedly.

Notes

I'm trying something new, everyone.
Welcome to the first ever Chicago Blackhawk-themed hockey musical! And probably the first musical for hockey like this period.
I give you, "Chains Around My Heart" an interesting hockey-themed stage-play!!
This first scene has a song entitled "Endless Summer Nights" in it. I changed the "summer" to "winter" because it made more sense. Lyrics are copyright to Richard Marx and I do not own them!! :)
If I can get permission from him, I'd totally make this real!!!!
Enjoy! ;)

Comments

I know, I know....This is why there are NO hockey musicals right? It's horrible.... :( Hockey players can't sing, aren't supposed to sing, not angelically at least, maybe rap like Versteeg, but not sing musical numbers....haha :)
