The horn sounded, finally securing the Hawks the Stanley Cup. The home crowd leapt up from their seats, cheering insanely loud. We all leapt up, screaming and crying with excitement; our guys had done it.

"Stanley Cup Chanps!" Sydney yelled, clapping loudly. The smile on my face was nothing in comparison to Ryder and Gabby's. They had both just witnessed their father score the game winning goal, securing the win with a shocking point five seconds left in the third. Everyone was certain the game would run into overtime; but with ten seconds left and a burst of speed, Kaner drove the puck hard into the Lightning zone.

Jon hurriedly kept up, making it a 2 on 1 situation. When it looked like kaner was going to shoot, he dished it off to Toews who made no mistake.

"I think we know who won the Connsmythe trophy this year" Abby teased, winking at me. I blushed a little bit, beyond impressed with the way the season had progressed.

The first game of Jon's return was nothing short of amazing. It was almost as if he picked up right where he left off, not having missed a second if ice time. He potted two goals lifting the Hawks past the Kings 2-0.

The passion the team presented throughout the year was also fantastic. They set their record at 52-22-8 putting them second in the conference, just one shy of first place.

Having been embarrassed last year in the first round, the Hawks destroyed the Canucks in the second round this year. Corey Crawford had two shut outs, the other games only one goal against. Jon had eight goals in the series.

They defeated the Lightning in five games, allowing them to win the cup on home ice.

"Lets get closer mummy" Ryder tugged at my sleeve. I smiled down, picking him up preparing to go down to ice level. Jon's parents had flown down from home for the duration of the Stanley Cup finals, and were busy looking after the twins, Patrick and Mathieu.

I insisted they attend the game but they rejected; they loved spending time with their grand kids.

We made it to ice level, the guys ushering their families onto the ice eagerly. Most of the fans started to disperse, leaving the arena slowly emptying of the happy Hawks fans, and the devastated Lightning fans.

"Daddy!" Ryder shouted, running into Jon's arms. Jon scooped him up, hugging him tightly. "I wanna see the cup!" He shouted, pointing to Kaner and Shaw, who were busily chatting with Emma and Andrews girlfriend.

"And the Conssymthe" Gabby announced, taking her dads hand and stepping carefully onto the ice. Just as Abby had predicted, Jon had indeed been the MVP.

"Come on guys" he motioned for me and Aveyah, who slept happily in my arms, to join him on the ice. Before long she was awake and wanting to be with the cup as well.

I stood on the sidelines, quietly admiring my family from afar. It had been a tough couple of years for Jon and I. They were by no means easy, or all fun and games. We had our ups and downs, but through everything, I knew I made the right choice when I married him.

"Addie" Jon's voice shook me from my thoughts. I grinned proudly, accepting his half hug.

"Congrats!" I told him, kissing his cheek. He blushed a little, looking towards Kane who played with the three children.

"Couldn't have done it without you babe" he confessed. "I have the best wife in the world"

And in that moment, I knew everything was looking up. The rough times were over; and we were stronger than ever.
