James and Morgan are at the doctor to find out the sex of their baby. They doctor comes in and performs an ultrasound on Morgan’s belly. Morgan’s doctor looks concerned.

Doctor Misty - Your baby is a girl.
Morgan - That great to hear
James - It sure is.
Doctor Misty - That’s the good news.
Morgan - What’s the bad news?
Doctor Misty - You have two very large cysts on your ovaries that have been there for awhile.
Morgan - So what’s the plan to fix this?
Doctor Misty - Both ovaries are going to have to be removed after you have your baby. I’m suggesting a c-section to deliver this baby.
James - So this means this will be our last baby?
Doctor Misty - That’s correct Morgan will not be able to have anymore babies.
Morgan - Not the news I was expecting but that explains the very painful cramps when this pregnancy started.
James - What do we need to do till then?
Doctor Misty - I will give her a prescription for some strong pain killers to help ease the pain till your surgeries.
Morgan - I guess that’s ok.
Doctor Misty - Since you are a high risk pregnancy I want to see you a few times every month to make sure everything is ok with you and your baby.
Morgan - Ok, thank you doctor.

James and Morgan go home. When they get home Morgan goes up stairs and lays down on the bed. She starts crying cuz she is devastated with the news they got at the doctor. James talks to his mom about what to do to make Morgan feel better about hearing the bad news at the doctor.

Deborah - I take it things did go well at the doctor?
James - No, we got some pretty devastating news.
Deborah - Is everything ok with the baby?
James - Yes, everything is ok with the baby. It’s Morgan who has the issue.
Deborah - Oh no, what’s wrong?
James - When she has the baby both her ovaries have to be removed.
Deborah - Oh my god. That’s awful news.
James - I guess she has two very large cysts that have severely damaged them.
Deborah - I’m so sorry to hear that. I can stay as long as you need.
James - You think you can talk to her and reassure her that this baby being our last is for the best? She is completely devastated about not being able to have anymore babies.
Deborah - Of course I can. If you remember when I was pregnant with your sister the same thing went on with me.
James - That’s right so you would know what she’s going through.
Deborah - She’s going to need you sweetie.
James - If I need to take a leave of absence from the team to take care of her I will.
Deborah - Why don’t you go check on her?
James - I think I will.

James goes up stairs to check on Morgan. He goes into their bedroom and sees Morgan is sound asleep. He lays down beside her and wraps his arms around Morgan holding her close so that they’re spooning with one another. He is asleep a short time later until later that night. He wakes up and starts nuzzling and kissing Morgan’s neck until she wakes up and turns over to face him.

Morgan - (Smiles) What a nice sight to wake up to.
James - You doing ok honey?
Morgan - I just don’t know what to feel.
James - It’s going to be ok honey. My mom has offered to stay as long as we need her and I can take a leave of absence from the team if you need me to.
Morgan - So you aren’t mad at me?
James - Of course not honey. I will take care of you and I’m glad your doctor caught this issue now and not when it becomes a bigger problem. I don’t know what I would have done if I lost you. Morgan, baby, I love you so much. Everything is going to be ok.
Morgan - You promise?
James - You bet I do. Are you hungry at all sweetie?
Morgan - Starting to get hungry.
James - My mom is willing to cook for us so you don’t have to.
Morgan - That’s sweet of her.
James - She’s worried about you sweetie. Just like I am.
Morgan - That is so sweet of you two to worry about me.
James - We worry about you cuz we love you.
Morgan - I know that.
James - Come on baby lets go eat something. Then we can cuddle the rest of the night.
Morgan - I like the sound of that.

James and Morgan go down stairs. When they come down stairs they find James’s mom fixing dinner for the 3 of them. James sets the table. James and Morgan sit down at the table. James’s mom dishes up dinner for the 3 of them. She joins James and Morgan at the table. They finish dinner. James and his mom pick up the table while Morgan goes to lay down on the couch. James and his mom join her in the living room. James lays on the couch beside Morgan while his mom sits in the chair. Morgan lays her head on James’s chest while James wraps his arm around her.

Deborah - Feeling ok dear?
Morgan - I’m ok just sad.
Deborah - It’ll be ok sweetie. The same thing happened to me when I was pregnant with James’s sister.
Morgan - How did you handle it?
Deborah - It was tough but I found a support group and it really helped. So you should do the same thing.
James - And you have me here baby. I will take care of you.
Deborah - And sweetie you will find after your surgery that you will feel so much better. Till then just let James and I take care of you.
Morgan - I’m going to head to bed.
James - Ok baby I’ll join you in a little bit.

Morgan gives James a kiss and then heads up stairs to bed. James and his mom talk for a little while.

Deborah - Poor girl is a mess.
James - I know she is. I hate seeing her like this.
Deborah - I know you do cuz I hate it too. It makes sense now why she hasn’t been feeling that good since Nate was born.
James - Her last period back in September was very painful. She would lay in bed and cry cuz she was in so much pain.
Deborah - She will feel so much better after the surgery is done.
James - And that’s all I hope for. I’m going to go check on her.
Deborah - Ok, night sweetie.
James - Night Mom. I love you.
Deborah - I love you too James.

James goes up stairs to check on Morgan. He goes into their bedroom and sees Morgan is sound asleep. He lays down beside her and wraps his arms around Morgan holding her close so that they’re spooning with one another. He is asleep a short time later until the next morning. A week passes. It’s now the day before Morgan’s birthday.
