Melody wakes up. As she’s laying in bed she feels the twins move. She smiles and wishes James could be there so that he could feel them move too. She gets up and gives Deter his morning bottle. She changes his diaper, rocks him back to sleep, and puts him back in his crib. She tells him how much she loves him and that he’s going to be a big brother in March. She goes down stairs to make herself something to eat. She gets done eating and then goes into the living room. She curls up on the couch when her cell phone rings. She’s surprised when she sees it’s Leslie, who she hasn’t talked to since September.

Melody - What do you want?
Leslie - To say I’m sorry for chewing you and James out when I was there. I shouldn’t judge you and James wanting to have another baby. I also shouldn’t have yelled at you about the paternity of Deter. I know you didn’t know that it was James who really got you pregnant last summer. I shouldn’t have accused you of lying to Ian when you didn’t know James was really Deter’s father. While you’re in town I hope we can get together.
Melody - I didn’t go along.
Leslie - Oh, are you sick?
Melody - My morning sickness has been really bad lately. I’m pregnant with twins.
Leslie - Oh wow
Melody - We weren’t expecting that news.
Leslie - I’m sure you weren’t. Are they boys or girls?
Melody - We were told one of each but I think they’re both girls.
Leslie - You going to the doctor again when James comes home?
Melody - In a few weeks. Since I’m carrying twins my doctor wants to see me more.
Leslie - That makes sense. You should go lay down. You sound awful.
Melody - I think I will till James’s game comes on.
Leslie - Ok, talk to you later.

The girls hang up. Melody goes up stairs. She goes into her and James’s bedroom and lays down on the bed. She covers herself with her blanket and is asleep a short time later. Meanwhile in Pittsburgh James is having lunch with his best friend and former teammate Evgeni Malkin. Geno notices James daydreaming.

Geno - Ok Lazy?
James - Sorry G I was just thinking about Melody.
Geno - The wife?
James - Yes, I miss her a lot and she’s pregnant with twins. I hated leaving her behind.
Geno - Oh, Congrats Lazy.
James - Thanks G
Geno - Buy her something.
James - That’s a great idea.
Geno - I smart
James - Yes, yes you are G. I should be going if I’m going to buy Mel something before the game tonight.
Geno - See you on ice Lazy.
James - See you later G.

James thanks Geno for lunch and then pays for his part of the check. He then heads to a shop he saw on the way to having lunch with Geno. He buys Melody all kinds of cute maternity clothes and some lingerie too. He also buys her a discounted jersey of his. Just before he goes to pay for the stuff he bought for Melody he sees a mug just like the one that broke during the move to Nashville. He remembers how upset Melody was when it broke cuz it was her favorite mug. He smiles and decides to buy that too. As he waits to for the sales lady to ring everything she smiles and talks to James for a few minutes.

Sales lady - Your wife or girlfriend must be a very special lady for you to buy all of this for her.
James - She is very special to me. She’s my whole world.
Sales lady - That’s really sweet. You must really love her.
James - I love her with all my heart. Can you wrap that mug into something? My wife had one just like it and it broke when we moved to Nashville. She was so heartbroken when it broke.
Sales lady - No problem I can do that. Nashville? You must be James Neal.
James - Yes I am.
Sales lady - Wish you were still with the Pens. Geno is struggling big time without you.
James - Thanks for your kind words. I’ve been hearing that a lot the past couple days.
Sales lady - We all mean it. It was dumb to trade you. Good luck tonight.
James - Thanks

James pays for the stuff he bought Melody. He grabs all the bags and then heads back to his hotel room to get ready for the game in a few hours. Meanwhile back in Nashville Melody wakes up later that night. Fixes herself something quick to eat and the curls up on the couch to watch James’s game. She falls asleep half way through the game but wakes up long enough to see James complete his hat trick. He collected a total of 5 points. She sends a text to James saying she’s going to bed and that he can call her in the morning. She also tells him that she loves him so much and that she misses him. She gets a text back from James says he’ll call her in the morning and that he loves her and misses her too. Melody sighs and then goes up stairs. She goes into her and James’s bedroom and lays down on the bed. She covers herself with the blanket and is asleep a short time later until the next morning when she’s woken up by her cell phone.

James - I’m sorry baby. I hope I didn’t wake you.
Melody - It’s ok.
James - Did you see the game last night?
Melody - I sure did. What got into you last night to make you play so well?
James - You did baby.
Melody - Aww, what did I do?
James - For always believing in me.
Melody - Aww, as long as you try your best I’m happy. It’s so nice to hear your voice.
James - I really miss you and can’t stop thinking about you.
Melody - I’m laying on your bed right now wishing you were here next to me.
James - I wish I was there too.
Melody - What would you be doing to me if you were here next to me?
James - Oh baby I would be kissing every inch of your sexy body.
Melody - Oh James, you have no idea how much I want to be with you right now.
James - Of course I do cuz I want to be with you too.
Melody - (Sighs) Oh James.
James - What’s wrong?
Melody - Nothing except for I miss you and wish you were here so we could make love to one another.
James - (Sighs) I want that too. I should be going. The team is getting ready to head to the airport. I’ll be home later today, ok?
Melody - Ok, I will see you then.
James - Ok, I love you Mel.
Melody - I love you too James.

They hang up. Melody goes down stairs to fix herself some breakfast. She finishes her breakfast and then goes over to the couch and lays down. She turns on the TV and then falls asleep. Later that afternoon James comes home. He puts his bags down and sees that Melody is sound asleep. He smiles and doesn’t have the heart to wake her so he just lays down beside her. He wraps his arms around so that they’re spooning with one another. He’s asleep a short time later until later that night. James wakes up. He starts nuzzling and kissing Melody’s neck until she wakes up.

James - I love you baby.
Melody - I love you too.
James - I got you a few things while I was in Pittsburgh.
Melody - Aww, you didn’t have to do that.
James - I know but I felt bad for having to leave you here. (Hands her the bags) Here baby these are for you.

Melody opens the bags and smiles when she sees the maternity clothes and the jersey. She starts to cry when she sees the mug. She smiles and gives James a kiss.

Melody - Thank you sweetie. I love all the gifts. I can’t believe you got me a replacement mug.
James - When I saw it I had to get it for you cuz I knew how upset you were when the other one broke.
Melody - That’s really sweet of you to do. You like spoiling me don’t you?
James - Of course I do. I do it cuz I love you.
Melody - Aww, I love you too.
James - You look really tired honey. Lets go to bed.
Melody - Can we cuddle tonight.?
James - Of course we can.

James and Melody go up stairs. They go into their bedroom and get ready for bed. While Melody is getting ready for bed James goes into Deter’s nursery to check on him. He picks him up and goes over to the rocking chair and starts rocking him as he gives Deter a bottle. James gently burps Deter and puts him back in his crib. He leans forward and kisses Deter on the forehead and tells him how much he loves him. He leaves the nursery and goes back into the bedroom. He sees that Melody is already asleep. He lays down on the bed beside Melody and wraps his arms around her so that they’re spooning with one another. He’s asleep a short time later until the next morning. A few weeks pass. James and Melody and yet again at the doctor to see how the twins are doing. They’re in for another surprise.
