One Shots

Patrick Kane

"Does this look okay?" Pat asked, letting out a shaky breath.

Kenzie turned as she put attempted to put in her earring. She looked him up and down. A small smile spread across her face. He had a plaid shirt underneath a dark blazer with the matching pants. He did up a single button at the middle of his stomach. Her eyes shifted to his as he looked up. He frowned at her. She knew he was really nervous about meeting her parents. She just grinned at him.

"Nervous?" She asked. He nodded. "Me too."

"Kenz," He inhaled as he spoke.

"You look a lot better then you did the first time we met." She teased as she slid her arms under his jacked and around his waist.

"Please don't bring that up tonight." He begged, holding her waist.

"I think it's a charming story." She mocked.

She thought back to the first time she had met Patrick. She was in her last year of college when Patrick had showed up at her school and ready to party. She was partying as well, but he was out of control. Being who he was, everyone knew he was there and everyone knew what he was up to.

On the Friday, he was being carried home before ten. She thought he was a child. He came back to the bar everyone was at. He was a total asshole. He said nothing to her but he clearly said enough to get himself kicked out.

The next day, he was at Kappa Sig. Everyone was starstruck. Guys and girls. She ignored him. She wasn't one to put up with guys like him. Pat started going girl to girl, pulling their sunglasses down, and deciding if they were up to par. He came up to Kenzie. She lacked sunglasses. He winked at her before he continued. She was told he was making out with any girl he could get his hands on. He was kicked out of the party for attempting to choke a girl and that was the last Kenzie heard of him.

One of her friends had heard Patrick was back at the bar they had been at on Friday, on Saturday. She begged Kenzie to go but she declined. Kenzie laid in her room as her friends went out. She received texts about what he was doing and just laughed. She didn't understand why he was acting how he was. She woke up nearly an hour later to someone falling onto her. She sat up and saw the drunken fool she avoided at all costs. He cuddled up to her before she heard soft snoring coming from him. He was a mess.

"I never thanked the girls for bringing me back to you that night." He broke her out of her thought.

"You never thanked me for taking care of your hungover self the next day." She mentioned.

"I think coming to see you every chance I could and flying you out to be at every chance was a pretty good thanks." He smirked, pressing his lips to hers.

She pulled away slowly, keeping her eyes shut from their kiss. When she opened them, his big blue eyes were staring back at hers. She smiled as he kissed her once more. They broke apart. Patrick let out a silent sigh as Kenzie continued to get ready. She only needed to do a few more things. She finished what was necessary and looked herself over in the mirror. Patrick stood behind her with his hands in his pockets and a look of pride. He couldn't believe he was lucky enough to have her. She noticed him staring and spun around.

"What?" She frowned.

"You look amazing." He stated. She rolled her eyes. "Hey, watch it." He warned, a smile on his face.

Kenzie laughed as she grabbed her perfume and applied. Patrick smiled as she did, knowing that it was his favourite. The couple walked downstairs and Kenzie turned to face him.

"Are you ready to meet my family and possibly be driven away from me forever?" She joked.

He nodded, grabbing her hand. "Nothing could drive me away from you." He argued as he laced his fingers with hers.

She looked away as a blush crept over her face. She opened the front door of their hotel room and they walked out to Patrick's car. Being the gentleman he was, he opened Kenzie's door for her and helped her in. He smiled at her as she shook her head. He leaned in, kissing her cheek before he closed the door.

She buckled up and entered her parent's address into the GPS. Pat insisted he could get there by her just telling him but she knew his luck with directions. He sat in the driver's seat, pulling his seatbelt across. He looked at Kenzie who was watching her.

"Off we go?" He asked.

She nodded, inhaling sharply. "Off we go." She repeated.

He reached over and squeeze her knee then pulled his car into drive. He grabbed Kenzie's hand from her lap. He held it the entire drive. When they got to her street, Kenzie squeezed his hand with both of hers. Pat looked over at her and saw how nervous she was. He squeezed her hand back, earning himself a frown from Kenzie. He frowned back.

"I'm so nervous." She confessed.

"I know, babe." He nodded. "It'll all be fine."

"You don't know that. What if they harass you so much that you walk out? What if my brother cries? He is a Hawks fan." She rambled on.

"Destination on the right." The GPS spoke.

Her breathing hitched and her grip on Patrick's hand became lethal. He turned into her driveway. Pulling the car in park with his opposite hand, he turned his body to face hers. His free hand grabbed her chin as he made her look up at him. She was pouting.

"I'm not going anywhere, Wenzie, not for a long time." He smirked as he used the nickname he made up for her. She sighed.

"Promise that you won't let my family chase you off?"

"Not in a million years!" He exclaimed. She gave him the eyes, waiting to hear the word she wanted. "I promise."

She quickly pecked his lips before she pulled away and looked forward. She took a very deep breath and nodded at herself. She looked at Patrick and gave him a nod, signifying she was ready. He nodded back and climbed out. Opening her door and helping her out, Patrick kissed the side of her head as they walked to the door. She was still insanely nervously.

Kenzie didn't knock, she just walked right in. Patrick followed behind. Her parents and brother sat around the living room. They all shot up as they saw her, bringing her in for hugs and such. Kenzie stepped back to introduce Patrick. She had an arm around his waist and her other hand resting on his chest. His hands were in his pockets. He was a little nervous still.

"Mom, Dad, Killian, this is Patrick." She said, staring up at him in admiration.

Her dad stepped forward first, Patrick ended his hand to shake his. Her mother stepped forward next. She hugged him. Kenzie stepped back as that happened. Pat chuckled as her mom apologized for 'being a hugger'. Killian stood in front of Patrick. He was taller than him. Killian crossed his arms and looked at him with narrowed eyes. Kenzie was a second away from exploding.

"You are a lot shorter in person." Killian smirked, extending a hand to Patrick.

Patrick laughed. "So I've been told." He admitted.

"You two make a nice couple." Kenzie's mom cooed.

Kenzie smiled, wrapping her arms around Pat's waist as his wrapped around her shoulders. "So I've been told." She mocked.

The five sat around. Kenzie's mom was in and out of the kitchen, checking on dinner and such. Kenzie sat beside Patrick. She had her legs crossed and her hands resting on his thigh as she leaned against him. His arm rested on the back of the couch with his hand on her shoulder. He traced shapes as he talked with her brother and dad. She just smiled at him.

She couldn't believe how well he was with all this. She sighed, leaning forward to rest her head on him. Her hands snaked around his waist as she did so. His arm came from the back of the couch and wrapped around her. His other arm held her as well. He rested his mouth on her head, kissing it as he listened to her family talk. He lifted his head to talk. She just smiled as she listened.

They were called into dinner. Kenzie's dad and brother shot up and into the kitchen. Kenzie stood up and helped Patrick up. He stretched and smiled at her as he stood. She gave him a kiss.

"What'd I do?" He chuckled.

"I'm just really lucky." She shrugged.

"Oh no," He pulled her into a hug. "I'm the luckiest guy in the world."

After their little moment, they made it to the dining room table. They sat beside each other. Each parent was on either end and Killian was across from them. All five made small talk as they ate. Every embarrassing story the family could think of was told. As Patrick got into it, Kenzie gasped at him. He smiled, not looking away from her brother as he told a story.

Most of them had finished eating by now. Kenzie continued to pick. Patrick's hand found Kenzie's thigh. He squeezed it, trying to earn a response from her. She used everything in her to not show what was happening. His rough hand slid between her two thighs as he rubbed closer to an area than necessary. Kenzie refused to show weakness as he continued. His thumb stroke the line of her panties and that's when she had enough. She very slowly wiped her mouth, placing her napkin down.

"Excuse me." She smiled at her family as she rose.

Patrick's hand slipped away as she walked away. She looked back at the grin on his face as she made her way out of the room. She went to the washroom to cool off. Patrick was the devil.
When she returned, the four were in good spirits. They were laughing as they all helped clean up. Kenzie came to Patrick's side. He kissed her cheek when she reached him. Kenzie's mom gasped, earning a look from everyone.

"Kenzie, take him to your room!" She exclaimed.

Kenzie shook her head. Patrick frowned. She rolled her eyes at him. This was his act to get her family to convince her to. Her mom clicked her tongue at her, hitting her with a tea towel. She gave her mom a look.

"Just take the boy to your room, Kenz." Her dad spoke.

She growled, grabbing Patrick's hand. She pulled him along to her bedroom. She opened the door, slowly, as they walked in. She sat on her bed as Patrick walked around, looking over everything. He spotted a Blackhawks flag and looked over at her.

"I thought your brother was the fan?" He teased.

"I said he was a fan, not the only fan." She stated.

Patrick smirked, leaning down to her. He kissed her, hard, as he kneeled on her bed. He helped lower her back as he began kissing down her neck. When he reached the top of her dress, he slid his hands down to the hem of it. He raked it up, above her hips. She frowned, knowing what was next.

Her breathing became heavy as he kissed her leg, just above her knee. He kissed up her left leg, to the line of underwear. He did the same to her right. He spread her legs, kissing the inside of each thigh. Just as he was about to go to work, there was a knock at the door. Patrick shot up. Kenzie groaned, pulling her dress down.

"Yeah?" She called.

"I have some dessert downstairs. Your brother and dad have been trying to get it all day so you should probably come get some first." Her mother spoke.

She rolled her eyes. "Okay."

She looked at Patrick with a glare. She got up and walked out of the room. She walked to the kitchen. Patrick was on her tail. He grabbed her by the waist as she walked to get some dessert. He kissed her neck and she brushed him off. He let go as her family came in. Her mom furrowed her brows at her.

"Kenzie, you look flushed." She announced.

"We raced down here. She won." Patrick lied.

"Is acting like children common with you two?" Her dad taunted.

"Well, Patty is an overgrown kid." Kenzie referred to his height.

"And Wenzie is a brat." He spat, smiling at her.

They sat in the living room and told more stories as they ate their desserts. Kenzie was the last to finish. She stood with her dish to take it into the kitchen. Patrick cleared his throat and she glared at him. He smiled as he held out his plate. She sighed, grabbing it from him.

"I don't understand how you two even met." Killian said, staring at the couple.

Kenzie laughed. "All yours, Pat."

She walked into the kitchen. She decided to be daughter of the year and start on some of the dishes as Patrick told their charming love story. She washed a quarter of the dishes before she turned the water off to hear what was being said.

"That not something parents want to hear their first time meeting their daughter's boyfriend." Her dad stated.

"It's not something I'm proud of, but I'm not going to sit here and lie about how troubled I was. I was just an asshole." Patrick explained.

Kenzie smiled, turning the water back on. Patrick was an asshole, when she first met him. A drunken asshole, who gave her the okay, which she didn't need or want. He was even more of a drunken asshole when she was forced to share a bed with him. And you best believe she resented him the next day, when he threw up anything he had digested in the last year, at least. She didn't hear from him for a week before a number texted her. It was him. He thanked her for what she had did. She said it wasn't a problem, attempting to avoid further contact. Thank god he continued to message her, or she wouldn't be where she was currently.

She shut the water off, doing a little over half of them. She walked back to the doorway and froze when she heard the current topic of discussion.

"It just worries us because we don't want to see our little girl hurt." Her mom sighed.

Kenzie rolled her eyes. Patrick was harmless. She knew his rep for the notorious hook ups, but she also knew the Patrick that cried in her arms when he kissed another girl in New York. She knew the Patrick, who did anything for a fun night, was long gone. Well, she hoped he was.

"God, I could never hurt her. I don't know what I'd do if I did. I love that girl with everything in me." Patrick began. "I can't begin to tell you how much she's helped me and how much happier I've been since I met her."

Kenzie bit her lip. She walked into the kitchen and banged some things around so it seemed as if she wasn't eavesdropping. She walked into the living room as Killian and Patrick started talking about hockey. Patrick looked at her, his eyes lighting up. She smiled at him, sitting beside him. He kissed the side of her head as she rested against him.

"You've got a catch, Kenzie." Her mom encouraged, squeezing her daughter's knee.

"No, I think I'm the one with the catch." Patrick chimed, holding Kenzie close.

Their visit finished up around nine at night. Kenzie was becoming drowsy and Patrick could tell, just as well as her family. They all hugged and made agreements to see each other soon. Patrick led Kenzie out the door but stopped for a minute. He spun around.

"When the season starts back up, I could probably score some tickets for you, if you'd be interested in a visit?" Patrick offered her family.

"You could do that?" Killian gawked.

"Yeah, I know a guy." Patrick laughed at his own joke.

Kenzie held back a laugh. She couldn't believe he was that much of a loser. Her family thanked Patrick. He grabbed Kenzie's hand and walked her to the car. He helped her in, like usual. He climbed into the driver's seat. He gave her a smile as she glared.

"Don't look cute at me, asshole." She hissed.

"Why, baby?" He said, in a baby voice.

"I can't believe you pulled that shit with my parents in the same household." She shook her head in disbelief as he backed out of the driveway.

"It's not my fault. The way your eyes were glistening whenever you listen to one of them was too much for me." He explained.

"My eyes turned you on?" She scoffed. He nodded. "You should've seen the way yours glistened when I walked into the room."

"Yeah, they always do that. The guys tease me." He whined. "I guess I just love you or something." He shrugged as he drove.

"Oh, I heard. You were gushing to my parents like a little school girl." She mocked.

His face turned a vibrant shade of red. "You definitely weren't supposed to hear that." He sighed.

"No, I'm glad I did." She argued, resting both her hands on his thigh as she leaned towards him. "I love you too and I'm glad you'd never hurt me because I'd probably destroy you."

"Excuse me?" He gasped as she laughed. "Was that a threat?" She shrugged at the question. "You already destroyed me."

"How?"

"I used to be fun, now I'm just some homebody." He huffed.

"Are you saying we don't have fun?" She smirked.

"That's true." He chuckled.

"By the way, thank you." She said as she sat back normally.

"For?" He reached over and grabbed her hand.

"Being great. For handling Killian and my parents so well." She listed. "For just offering tickets like they were nothing. You made their year."

"They're nothing compared to your happiness and if buying your family's love is how I'll keep you happy, then so be it." He stated.

"And if laughing at your own jokes makes you happy, then I won't say a thing." She grinned at him.

"Oh, c'mon. That joke was gold!" He cried.

"Lame."

"Gold."

"It was lame, babe. You're lame." She shook her head as she spoke.
