No Place I'd Rather Be...

Kaner’s “Nightmare”: Wolverine Saves Elsa

Patrick Kane snuggled against his best friend, Jonathan Toews, and the only man he truly cared about in his life. The two had finished showering and were ready for bed. The blond was shocked that his friend was making him wear nothing more than a blue piece of underwear to bed, but he knew that it was more of a compliment. Plus he was sure that Jonathan wanted him lightly dressed, in case he wanted to fool around some more.

After he climbed in and slipped under the covers, the brunette leader had turned off lights and shut windows, setting the mood for an easy slumber. Because God knew that they both only had so much sleeping time in the NHL. But he was fine with it. It meant he had to cherish every little second he could spend with his friend.

Jonathan climbed onto the bed and got under the covers. He situated himself, scooting closer, until he lightly bumped up against Patrick’s hind quarters with his pelvic thrust. The blond smiled, not minding. And then he felt the Captain’s arm wrap over him, protectively. His fingers stroked Patrick’s crotch, like he were painting a picture. The feeling only made Patrick sleepy, so he drifted off quite quickly to the sensation of Jonathan’s fingers touching his barely concealed cock.

****

Patrick found himself in the Blackhawks TV set area. He was dressed similarly to Anakin from Star Wars. He was mindlessly playing with his beaded ponytail attachment and practicing his lines for the script. It suddenly hit him that he was back in the recording area for the skit “Blackhawks at the Movies.”

“It’s all Obi Wan’s fault. He’s holding me back. He’s just jealous. No, no that’s not it.” He continued to pace back and forth, playing with the attachment, like a girl playing with her hair. He tried his line again. “It’s all Obi Wan’s fault. He’s jealous. He’s holding me back.”

He paused in place. “There we go! That’s it.” He walked over to the greenscreen and the camera people, who were finishing up with Sharpy.

Sharpy was dressed just like the Batman and he was chuckling. He walked off the set, pulling his mask off of his face and vanished into the shadows of the studio. Patrick stepped into the studio lighting. He was actually nervous. He felt more nervous than when he was on the ice. The blond stood, playing with his hair piece, as he awaited the instructions. He saw Jonathan walk by, fooling around with a dog tag around his neck. He had plastic Wolverine claws attached to his hands and it seemed to be a struggle for him not to poke himself in the eyes.

He stood to the side and glanced up. He flashed Patrick a small smile and wink. It suddenly dawned on him that this was back when their relationship had just begun. Neither of them knew they were in love with one another. It was all just a bromance.

“Alright Patrick,” the lead director for the Blackhawks TV shorts began. “I want you to just stand right here, facing the camera, with your back to the greenscreen and just do what you are doing...playing with your hair piece.”

Patrick nodded. He moved into position and stared at the camera, pointed at him. His stomach tightened into knots inside of him. But he did as he was told. And after eight takes, Patrick finally finished his part. They had to keep doing it because he kept breaking out in laughter. Looking at his friend didn’t help out either. But he did it and then he started to leave.

But before he could leave the set, a burlap sack was thrown over him. “What the hell?” he screamed, as it engulfed him.

The bag was yanked up, tipping Patrick over on his head temporarily. And then the bag was tied up, trapping him inside. He kicked and screamed, trying to get himself out, but he could not.

“Sidney, what do you think you are doing?” someone shouted. It was Bryce the lead member of the behind the scenes crew and a familiar voice to the blond winger.

Sidney!? Sidney Crosby? No, it couldn’t be!

“I’m sick of you people never going with my ideas, so I’m going to produce my idea of “Wolverine Saves Elsa!” And it stars Patrick Kane as Elsa!”

“The hell it does! Let me go!” Patrick screamed.

Oh, right...Sidney was one of the cameramen. He was always a little out of it and bizarre, but Patrick thought it was just his personality quirk. All creative people had it. Right? He guessed that the man was fed up and was going rogue. Apparently Sidney had ideas for shorts, but they were never used or agreed upon. But still it was no reason to kidnap him!

“Sid, let Patrick go.”

“Never!”

Okay that sounded rehearsed, Patrick thought to himself. What the hell was going on with Blackhawks TV?

“I’m going to get my vision and there’s nothing you or anyone else can say or do about it!”

That’s cheesy...and lame...and also a little cliche.

“Sidney, don’t do this,” Bryce tried to insist.

Patrick began to thrash about again. He could envision Bryce reaching his hand out and attempting to save the hockey player trapped in the sack, but then Sidney stopping him. He heard evil cackling and then felt himself being dragged away in the bag, screaming and fighting. He also heard coughing, like someone might do if a person was committing a magical smoke screen exit in any number of TV shows and movies.

Where was Jonathan??

Patrick’s point of view suddenly shifted to third person and he saw that Jonathan was rushing over to Bryce, who was recovering from inhaling the smoke, which hung in the air still. The Captain looked concerned.

“What’s going on?”

“Sid, the second cameraman, went rogue and kidnapped Kaner!” Bryce explained. “I tried to stop him and save Patrick, but he vanished in a cloud of smoke.”

Jonathan looked more worried now. But then an ounce of determination crept in. He stood up proudly in his Wolverine outfit and raised his hands up like his Wolverine pose in the skit. “I’ll save Kaner!”

“Go get him Jonny. Go get that talented man back!”

“Right. I’ll rescue him!” the brunette pressed his hands again his cheeks where the sideburns were and made sure that they were still in place. Then he darted off, heading past the smoke cloud, in the most logical direction that Patrick could have vanished in. “I’m coming Kaner, hold on! Jonny’ll--Wolverine’ll save you!”

(Man this is so cheesy.)

Patrick’s point of view shifted again. He returned to himself, but as third person. He watched as he was pulled out of the bag by the rogue crew member. He was unconscious somehow, probably clocked over the head by Sidney. The two of them were somewhere in the studio, but in some kind of attic or basement scene. A single wooden pole rose up from the floor and to the right side of the room, it was bathed in shadows.

Patrick was dragged toward the pole and leaned against it. Sidney stood up and vanished temporarily into the shadows to get something. He returned with a blondish white haired girl’s dress-up wig and a sparkling blue Elsa dress (like from Frozen). (The “viewer Patrick” thought to himself, Oh, hell no!) Before he knew it, Sidney had stripped him of the “Anakin” costume and had redressed him in the Elsa costume.

The crew member fixed the wig into place and then pushed Patrick up against the pole. He proceeded to tie Patrick up. He wrapped a rope around the blond’s wrists and then wrapped another rope around the rope binding the Blackhawk’s wrists and wrapped the other end around the pole, attaching him in place.

Then he moved Patrick into a sitting position, making sure to put his legs to the side, opposite to the wood. He removed his shoes and tossed them to the side and then bound his ankles together with another rope and carefully smoothed out the dress, so that he looked like he was modeling for a damsel photoshoot.

As soon as he had finished smoothing out and perfecting the look of the dress, Patrick blinked awake. He realized what was going on and began to struggle. He pulled at the ropes holding him to the pole, but couldn’t move from his position.

“What the hell? What are you doing? Get this dress off of me! Sick pervert!” Patrick snapped, yanking at the bonds again.

“Oh no Patrick Kane, welcome to my vision. This is “Wolverine Saves Elsa!” It’s my idea. No one took it, but I thought it’d be a cool idea for Blackhawks TV. Don’t you think so, Kaner?”

Patrick shook his head. “This is downright sick is what it is!”

“Sick means cool, so thanks.”

“No, sick as in demented!”

Sidney folded his arms. “Well, too bad. See, I planned this for a while. Everything’s all set up for me. I have my camera rolling, as we speak.”

“No.” Patrick pulled fiercer at the rope restraints. “Let me go!”

“Only when your rescuer, Jonny comes to save you. Oh, wait, I’m sorry, Wolverine!”

“No!! I won’t be a pawn in your scheme!”

“Too bad, sweetie, you are.” Sidney pulled out a roll of tape and tore off a piece.

“Don’t you--” Patrick began, only to be cut off by the tape.

The rogue man smoothed it into place and then tore off a another two pieces and put them in place over his mouth. He jammed the roll back into his pocket and then got to his feet. Patrick eyed him, continuing to struggle and tug at the ropes.

“Do what? Put tape over your precious mouth? Tough luck kid, I did. Now, keep struggling for the camera.”

Patrick muffled an angry comment at Sidney.

“What was that sweetheart? I couldn’t hear you...because of the tape over your mouth!” The villain started snickering.

“Let Kaner go!” a voice shouted.

Patrick snapped his head to the side and saw Jonathan Toews, standing proudly in his Wolverine outfit. The older Captain was shocked at the sight of his friend looking like a girl...sitting like a princess all “lady-like.” He was barefoot and looked kind of cute in distress. “Jonny!” The blond winger tried to call out.

Sidney raced into the shadows and Jonathan darted up to Patrick and ripped away the tape, narrowly missing poking his friend’s eye out. “Kaner, are you okay?”

“I’m fine...but it’s Sidney! The cameramen, he kidnapped me!”

“I’ll get him, but I have to untie you first.” He knelt down, ready to untie the knots from the ropes around his wrists.

“Look out, Jonny!” Patrick had yelled, as his friend moved to untie him.

Before he could lay a finger on the rough manila, he was attacked from behind. Jonathan was pulled backward by Sidney, who’d appeared from the shadows and ambushed the brunette. He punched the Captain of the Blackhawks in the face.

“Jonny!” the blond screamed.

Jonathan recovered. He was dazed, but he was coherent. He jumped back up to his feet and swung at Sidney now, narrowly missing.

“You really think that you can hurt me with your plastic claws?” Sidney scoffed.

“I was thinking more so about my fists you son of a bitch! Two for slashing...five for tying Kaner up and also a game misconduct for kidnapping my best friend and teammate.” He launched another blow at the villain, who ducked his fist/claws again.

“Is that the best you got Jonny? Go ahead, save him…but you’ll have ta go through me first!”

“Don’t mind if I do!”

“The mighty Wolverine played by the dashing Jonathan Toews rushed to the rescue of his best friend and secret lover, Patrick Kane, who was dressed as Elsa. He had been kidnapped by the evil cameraman and needed saving…” Sidney began to narrate his “story,” as he and Jonny squared off. They battled, while Kaner tried his best to try and slip free of the ropes. He wanted to help his leader out. But he couldn’t get free. This cameraman’s ropework was skillful and amazing. Jonathan finally defeated Sidney after five minutes of fighting.

He rushed back to Patrick and rapidly worked to untie his friend from his restraints. He wasn’t sure if Sidney was completely out yet. He didn’t want him to wake up and attack him again. He had to free Patrick from this madman. Jonathan undid the final knot on Patrick’s bondage, releasing his ankles and wrists.

Patrick immediately threw his arms around Jonathan’s neck, as Jonathan scooped his friend up in his arms, somehow not jabbing him with his claws. The whole scene looked like a classic scene out of a Disney princess movie. (Jonathan had scooped him up like a princess.)

“My Hero!” Patrick cried. “I love you Jonny!” He squeezed his arms around Jonny’s neck and gave him a big, warm, loving embrace, showing the older man his feelings and thanks.

But the centerman shook his head and kissed his blond winger friend passionately, while he carried him off, back to the main set. (As Elsa!)

Comments

So this is the real Keith Ballard, in case anyone was interested:

Kinda evil, isn't he? I swear, I had no idea about him before creating the killer character. Then I just hear the name "Keith Ballard" during a Lightning game and....woo-la! Imagine the laughter I had...man. That's like me guessing my roommates real middle name. ;)
He also reminds me a little bit of Bur (Adam Burish)...but BUR IS BETTER!! :D

I believe I have figured out and fixed the timeline issue of the flux in time with this. If it still doesn't read right or the time seems awkward or confusing, please let me know. :)

Okay, so around the Kazer Dinner Scene and Kinny's Torture, there is supposed to be a flux in time. Kinny's torture scene happens a day AHEAD of the Kazer Dinner. So when the Stalking Kaner chapter happens, it should be thought of as two days behind Kinny's torture. It will make sense - hopefully - coming up soon here. (I'm not sure how to stick this into the story yet, but just wanted to let all you readers know that it should be a two day difference between the two separate events: Kazer and Kinny.)
