Thunderstruck

Wanna Be Starting Something

Training camp had officially begun and for Lila that meant one thing, a week full of cranky, out of shape (but pretending not to be) boys. It was only two days into the madness and she was already trying to avoid them with everything she had. She was currently standing in the kitchen waiting for her coffee to finish when she heard her phone go off in the living room. Pouring the warm liquid into the cup, she grabbed it and headed into the living room picking up her phone and sitting cross-legged on the couch. When she clicked the screen she saw it was Jordie. She groaned, not sure if she actually wanted to open the message or not considering it could go one of two ways. Taking a big drink out of the hot cup in her hand, she swiped the screen and opened the message.
'Hey red, out tonight? Everyone's off tomorrow.'
She sighed, happy that the text went in the way she wanted it to.
'Sure :)'
'awesome. convince your other half he needs a night off?'
'ugh. fine.'
She rolled her eyes at the phone knowing that convincing Jamie to go out in the middle of training camp would be harder than convincing him to get his teeth pulled for no reason. She scrolled to his number and hit call, hoisting herself up off the couch and heading to her room to pick out an outfit for later.
"I'm not going."
"Hello to you too sunshine."
"Cut the shit Lil, I know why you're calling."
"Take your midol, pick out a nice shirt and sit at a table with your friends for a couple hours, that's all I'm asking Jam."
"Well you're asking too much."
She rolled her eyes and leafed through her closet. "I'm starting to not like this whole captain thing, next time I see you I'm ripping that stupid C right off your jersey and maybe the stick will come out of your ass with it."
"That would be a good plan, if there were indeed a stick up my ass."
"Then what do you call it?"
"Responsibility, dedication, my job."
"I have a job too, and do you know what people with jobs get? Days off. That's what you have starting at 3:30 today. And what do people do with their days off? Relax. Have fun. You should try it sometime."
"I will, just not in the middle of camp."
"I give up on you. And since I just spend five minutes of my life I'll never get back arguing with you, you're bringing me a nice greasy breakfast in the morning because I'M going to go out and have fun with your teammates tonight."
"Fine. Someone's going to have to take care of your hung over ass."
"That's why I have you. Later party pooper."
She hung up and tossed her phone into the chair that sat in the corner of her room and dove further into her closet. A few minutes later she heard her phone chirp from the chair and went over, grabbing it and clicking the screen. The text came up as an unknown number, but read: 'You coming out tonight?'
She narrowed her eyes at the screen before texting back
'Depends on who this is?'
'New guy'
'Well hello there new guy, how the hell did you get my number?'
'Pretty easy when Jamie leaves his phone everywhere and you're practically the only person he talks to'
'well remind me to kill him later'
'sure, but you haven't answered my question'
'Nope, I haven't. Guess you're just going to have to find out.'
Instead of waiting for whatever kind of rebuttal she was going to get from him, she tossed her phone back to its previous spot and retreated to the shower.

Later that night, Lila paid the cab driver what she owed him and hopped out standing in front of the club Jordie told her to go to. Pulling out her phone she sent him a quick text.
'Come out and get me bitch'
She leaned up against the wall opposite the door and waited for a couple minutes before seeing Jordie's head peak out by the bodyguard and nod at her. She smiled at the large man guarding the door and heard Jordie say to him 'she's with us' before he let her through the doorway and up the stairs.
"Sorry I couldn't get captain cranky pants to come out tonight"
She said to him on their way up the stairs.
He shrugged, "didn't think he would have anyway with the attitude he was sporting today."
"Guy just needs to get laid."
The two approached the table and Antoine chuckled having heard Lila's response.
"That's why we wanted him to come out tonight."
"Hey, if Lila can't get the guy out than none of us even stand a chance in hell." Daley said sliding a drink towards Lila.
She gladly accepted the drink and looked around the table.
"I tried boys, told him to take his midol and everything, just wasn't having it."
After about half an hour of chatting with the guys, she felt another body slide into the booth beside her and turned towards it.
"So you did decide to come out."
"Never said I wasn't going to."
"Well I figured since Jamie wasn't coming you wouldn't be here."
"He's not my keeper, I can go places without him. Plus I've known most of these guys longer than you have, so if anyone should be here."
She took a long swig of her drink and stared him down. He put his hands up as if to say he meant no harm.
"Hey, never said you shouldn't be here."
"Good. Now since you're late Seggy boy, I think you should buy me a drink."
He smirked at her, looking her up and down admiring the outfit she chose for the night.
"Oh yeah? What do you want?"
"Whatever poison you choose."
"You sure about that?"
She returned the smirk and slid in closer to him.
"Positive. Do you worst."
He stared at her for a second before shaking his head, chuckling and sliding out of the booth heading towards the bar.
"What was that all about?"
She turned seeing Jordie staring at her from across the table.
"Having fun with the new guy and getting a free drink out of it."
Jordie shook his head at her and rolled his eyes taking a swig of his beer.
"I still wonder how you and my brother are so inseparable. Polar opposites."
"Haven't you ever heard of opposites attract? And I thought you were supposed to be the older, smarter brother."
"Whatever Lil."
She smirked at him and threw a wink when she felt the body beside her return and saw a drink being pushed towards her hand out of the corner of her eye. She looked down at the drink and back over at him as he took a swig out of his glass.
"Bottoms up babe."
She picked up the glass and downed it in one swift motion. He stared at her with widened, impressed eyes.
"First of all, don't call me babe. Second, jager. Good choice."
"I've never met a girl who can handle jager with that much… elegance? I can't think of another word for it."
"There's a lot about me you don't know Seguin."
"You're definitely making me want to find out."
"Don't let any of these guys hear you say that."
"Why not?"
She looked back at them and noticed everyone was busy in their own conversations and put a hand on his chest pushing him out the end of the booth. She started towards a distant corner of the bar and he followed her like a puppy. The music was louder in the corner of the bar that she chose to migrate too and when she finally stopped she turned stepped closer into Tyler putting her hand on the back of his neck and swaying to the song that was blasting through the speakers. Automatically his hand found its way to her hip and he followed her lead.
"Any of those guys back there hear you say anything slightly out of line and your life is a living hell for the rest of the time you're here in Dallas."
"I've noticed you're kind of like their princess."
Her face held a mixture of sadness and cockiness, an interesting look. "Captains best friend. Keep the captain happy and you've got a happy team. You think those guys want anything less?"
"You've got a point."
She stepped in closer towards him, planting one of her feet in between his and slowly grinding her hips into him. He let out a long breath and looked down at her.
"That's why none of the guys back there can know anything that happens after this point, got it?"
"You don't think they'll find out eventually?"
"I'll handle it. I know how to handle every one of them."
"Think you can figure out how to handle me?"
"I've got a few ideas."
She ground her hips into him again.
"Don't start anything you can't finish, babe."
"Didn't plan on it new guy."
"Then how about we get out of here?"
"We can't together. Too suspicious. Go tell the guys you've found some blonde to take home, they won't question it. Wait for me around the corner, I'll be out in ten minutes."
"You trying to get me to change my mind Seguin?"
He pulled away from her, "ten minutes." And with one last glance he headed towards the table of guys. Lila turned around, running a hand through her wild red hair, wondering if this was a mistake. She turned around and immediately her eyes fell on Tyler walking out of the club and decided that he was a mistake she was willing to make.
